Carole: Just found this thread and I have a comment or two. First, I like the “book” style, especially when you’ve inserted author’s names and/or comments.
As to finding the referenced layout when you are critiquing, perhaps you could post a thumbnail of the work? Who knows, it could even be a hot link back to the original post … ??
I reviewed the layout for this class that I had last year and need to show it off because it is, hands-down, my favorite! I will proceed to work on a new one but in the meantime, here’s Magic (yes, that’s her name) …
Here’s my Mask#3 – Logan, who just turned One on Feb 6. He’s not ready to really chat yet but he sure tries!
Sue, your garter snakes are beautiful! Such striking colors! I had a few as captures when I was a teen; have always liked snakes but I’d turn them loose shortly after because I didn’t know how to care for them. They always feel warm and smooth to touch, not slimy like earthworms! 😉
Fiona: I play with a lot of plaids and if I wanted to make the one you mention, I would take one of the small photos and manipulate it, even twisted on an angle, until I could select the colors I want. I usually try to work on an image that measures 500 x 500, then snip a 1 pixel by 500 strip from it and enlarge that to 500×500 again. Duplicate the layer and rotate it 90 degrees and drop the opacity on it to 50%. That would be my pattern, which can be further manipulated in the materials palette. Hope this helps.
I experimented with your photos and made you a sample plaid.
Finally finished QP7-Extra. Here’s the Hawk’s Nest – Rt 97 – in Sparrowbush, NY. A nightmare to drive in ice and snow but beautiful beyond compare in fine weather.
Here’s my Day 2 – I had to use last year’s as my template and even then, it was odd. [Don’t ask! LOL] Here’s my Short-Eared Owls with their own plaid (I LOVE making plaids!) and a little journaling to tell their story.
Cristina: Gesundheit! 😀
Oh, Randy! Your eggs are very nice. I can see you had a good time doing it, too! Well done!!
Jacques– I just save the page as a bookmark in my browser and it’s always there if I need it.
Here’s my first entry into this mask-world. Everyone’s work is amazing! I had big trouble with the small squares at the bottom, so I ended up using the raster-to-mask script for each of those. Whew! Glad I had that script. Here’s my Great Horned Owl, the terror of the night skies! 😉
I just downloaded 5 new free Quick Pages from Digital Scrapbook. Take a look – some even came as a .psd so they can be saved as .pspimage with layers.
Nel, I had the same problem. It wanted to put it in Dropbox but my Dropbox is inactive. I asked Carole for help.
QP7-Fall in the Beautiful Hudson Valley – I’m coming in for a landing; one more after this … mostly I’m hunting for photos large enough to fill the space.
QP6-EVE
QP6-Extra: This was a feature in my local newspaper today, but I had to hunt up artwork to illustrate it.
Just an example of one from last year when the workshop was titled Love Story for February. I did some local wildlife as they are out courting, too!
Liz Kershaw: You really are coming along nicely with your QP layouts. Well done! You might want to post them in the Quick Page Forum where everyone else has their creations. I think Carole/Cassel is more likely to see them there. Here’s the link [QUICK PAGE <span style=”color: #0000ee;”><u>FORUM]</u></span>
Killing 2 birds with one stone: Here’s Queen with You’re My Best Friend using the QP5-extra as the basis for the layout.

Linda: Beautiful sunflowers! I worked in advertising for newspapers and used points when we were still using lead type. Not so much after the switch to paste-up. I can still read upside-down and backwards, though. 😉
Susan: Thank you for your kind words. Here are my Hummers, hopefully arriving soon!
QP4-Extra: Adam, My Hauspanther. We adopted him from the shelter when he was two (lower right photo) and he’s 12 this year (large photo). He spends his time sleeping, of course, or up high, guarding his territory from his annoying younger “sister” Eve. He loves to guard me in the bathroom where he insists on having the sink filled with water so he can drink from the “pool.” I have a meme that describes his mindset perfectly, which I’m posting here, also.
Edit: I’ve experimented with the Selections/Freehand/EdgeSeeker and once I added a layer beneath the template I had another place for a photo, which I used at reduced opacity to give the impression this Big Guy was watching over my Hauspanther from the clouds. 😉

QP4-THE MENDOCINO HEADLANDS – Where my California family lives. My grandson, Will, took the panoramic photo of the bay. The rest of the photos I found with Google. The headline font is Berlin Kitchen.
Just started working on QP4, but in the meantime, here’s the design I came up with for this QP last year. My granddaughter, Jackie’s, wedding on the shores of Lake Wallenpaupack. I like this one so much I hope I can come up with something else half as good!
I re-did my QP3-Extra. I changed the color of the top paper, added the birds, added to the signage, changed the title on the ticket and added a beach chair. Everyone’s outstanding work is inspiring me!
QP-Extra3 – Sunset Beach – it’s the Hudson River, actually. I used the Paint to Target to change the color of the flower. Love that tool!
Lynda: That is such a beautiful tribute! Well done!!
QP Day 3 – The Hudson Valley in Pictures. The font for the title is Algerian with a black stroke and a drop shadow.
Corel Freebie – Heart frame. I used a photo from June 2021 because the frame needed a tall photo with the subject towards the bottom. I resized the template from 2000 to 3600 so I could use the cass-resize template script. So here’s my California family. I tried the Adjustment Layer but it applied any effect to the whole layout, so I pulled out the layer I wanted to adjust (changed the bird from red to white) applied the hue/saturation/lightness to it and then put it back as a new layer.
