April 24, 2020 at 9:08 pm #42009Euka Love your ANZAC Day tributes. Very special day but going to be so different. This will be the first time in 30 years I haven’t laid the wreath for the Fire Service here and been to services or marchs. But I was up at the front gate this morning to burn a candle and lay a wreath.
April 24, 2020 at 9:13 pm #42011This is my Day 3.
I use X2 so don’t have the Text Wrap option. These are my grandbabies…… 2 of whom I’ve not met yet.
I have met Nathaniel, he was a prem baby and in NICU for nearly 3 months, never know if you saw him now!
Bella and Clay I’ve yet to meet.April 24, 2020 at 11:01 pm #42026Trish,
I like your Mexico tribute… The Baja Pennisula has a special place in my heart. This reminds me of good times there
April 24, 2020 at 11:34 pm #42028Day 4
Today is a very special day so what better way to remember my Uncle. (Euka you inspired me)April 25, 2020 at 1:32 am #42030Day 5. I love the subtle contrasts in this photo by Andreas M and which I sourced from Unsplash. The layout is from Cassel’s template and the papers and elements are from a kit titled Bewitching Autumn which I purchased many moons ago from Digi Scrapbooking Boutique. Thanks for takin a peek!
April 25, 2020 at 1:46 am #42032Day 5
I did this one with the colours of Australia- background is for Doreatha MacKellars poem….. the lines…… I love a sunburnt country / wide brown land for me are just a couple of lines of her poem.
and of course the ‘green and gold’.
This is our cousin who has made 2 trips to Australia now from Canada.
Not too sure about the letters….. Canadian I’m happy with – Cousin and Visit look a little ‘cramped’
I swapped out the elements with a bouquet of Australia flowers.
But didn’t know how to overlap like that so enjoyed doing it.April 25, 2020 at 2:14 am #42034Not really happy with this but its so late. State property taxes which includes cars, special items like jewelry and of course your home as well. Lots of folks are running out of cash and I still can not get <chokes> toilet paper.
Folks are starting to panic again a bit I fear.
April 25, 2020 at 2:20 am #42036My day 5 an all day mission, must go for a walk tomorrow. Early start for my lockdown bubble up at dawn to remember our brave soldiers this anzac day.
April 25, 2020 at 5:00 am #42037You guys are all so good!
April 25, 2020 at 6:53 am #42038Carole, on day 3 I noticed that a lot of participants had used the same template that you had used for the project and they could follow the tutorial to each process and put the text exactly where you did. I had issues with the text wrapping because I just got lost with the process. I have done it before so i will have another shot sometime.
For the shadows correction on Day 4, I usually duplicate the layers before I drop shadow, I see what you mean, point taken, thanks.
April 25, 2020 at 9:30 am #42041Thank you Teacher your so awesome thank you Trish you are the Awesomest Lady I couldnt sleep it was kinda a scary night storms. I am going to sleep now lol but got 2 done trying to catch up lol thank You all.
April 25, 2020 at 9:45 am #42045Mon jour 6, merci Carole pour le template
J’ai utilisé la partie de LouiseL du Blog Train de February Memories
Merci Annie, j’aime aussi tout ce que tu fais
April 25, 2020 at 9:47 am #42046Day 6 keeping with the various ways to use the text tool, I used font swashes, a font heart to create the frame, and text on a curve. I feel that the quote I created can describe everyone here, including myself. I’m always seeking to learn, striving to do my best, and whatever I do, I put my heart and soul into it. There are three ground squirrels in this project, can you see the third one? 🙂 Thank you Annie for you kind words, it’s so nice to see you back taking part in this challenge, don’t do to much to soon, fully recover first before you get back into the swing of things. I trust you are feeling much better though. As for everyone else, such outstanding creating!
April 25, 2020 at 9:53 am #42047I added the flashes from the cameras using GRFX Studio. They aren’t quite lined up but it was interesting exploring the possibilities.
April 25, 2020 at 10:15 am #42049Day 5 .. Another great project – had a quick go at it. Super impressed with everyone’s tries. Fun to look at. Glad to see so many participating, too! Lots of ideas to contemplate when you look at others. 🙂
April 25, 2020 at 11:54 am #42050Thanks Vicki yes ANZAC day is a very special day and was certainly different this year but in saying that I think people really made an effort and were maybe even more aware. I love your remembrance honouring your uncle.
April 25, 2020 at 12:01 pm #42052Day 5 – Lightning .. this was a photo I took during a storm last year. I did use texture but it didn’t show up very well so I ended up duplicating and converting to a raster layer and a little drop shadow. I had a plain background and changed it to a pattern hoping for a more translucent effect but it didn’t maybe my colours were too dark. Thanks for the link on using a template Carole … I had a little play and need to do more.
April 25, 2020 at 12:06 pm #42054With great pleasure made this lesson again!
With the grandson behind the sewing machine!!
April 25, 2020 at 2:00 pm #42061Trying a more colorful and upbeat approach. I’m hoping that one day soon we can all safely be more mobile again.
April 25, 2020 at 2:30 pm #42067No use of texture in the letters because I wanted to hold on to the bright colours like the Andy Worhall effect for the photo’s. Playing with text is FUN !
April 25, 2020 at 4:18 pm #42073Day 6, Sue I found the third one ……. great job. I used a purchased scrap kit for this one. We went to Oktoberfest in a local small town. I tried many colours in my font but no fill looked the best. I used the metal tube and recoloured to gold, autumn color. Added drop shadows using Cass Shadow placer, a great time saver. Added my date stamp Cass Date Stamp 2. Really enjoyed this technique thanks Carole.
April 25, 2020 at 4:25 pm #42074There is a little back story. The picture is from our final family reunion. The picture of the crawdad reminded me of decades ago when my cousins and I would run to the creek after lunch to catch some. It was good to see another generation having just as much fun.
Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park is the site of a Civil War-era iron plant that supplied the Confederate army which is why I chose the metal beads as the text outline. The furnaces were fueled by the trees in the forest surrounding the plant.
The picture was taken with an old camera phone. I ran it through Photozoom 7 to increase the resolution and clean up the JPEG artifacts.
April 25, 2020 at 4:57 pm #42080It has taken me some time but here is wise words day 4. The problem was not in the vector path but I started out using the template and that did not work at all with the theme and photos I wanted to use. Yesterday was any how an off day; with everything I did something went wrong. So in the end I realised I simply should not use that template! Now is an other day and it went smoothly.
Carole I saw your comment on day 3 and I agry with you. It shows one really should not try to finish something off if it has become very late at night. I’ll rectify.
April 25, 2020 at 5:22 pm #42082Day 6 “Best Dog Ever
April 25, 2020 at 6:00 pm #42084Day 6:
Looking at it now, I wish I had used a texture for the letters before I put on the candy tubes, but it’s okay. I rarely create a page for a single picture, but this one stands alone.
April 25, 2020 at 6:16 pm #42086Day # 6 Hi Carole. I finally finished the lesson. I didn’t have the rope tube, but I used another tube I had. Thank you so much for your time to teach us.

I think the 3rd squirrel is in the bottom photo kinda snuggled up with his/her mate, yeah? Yes, I am back on track dear Sue and taking it slow and easy as you suggested. One day at a time! <3
