I see that more fun, creative and lovely layouts have been added. Everyone is doing great and inspiring work!
Corrie, I couldn’t agree more with you about what you said to Annie and about this Community. I met some wonderful people when I joined the Campus in 2016 and knew absolutely nothing about Scrapbooking, digital or paper. It was because of those people and others that came afterward that I am still around. And more important, let me give a shout-out to Carole, that makes all of this possible.
November 16, 2020 at 3:40 pm #49215Here’s my November Sketch Challenge layout. I used the two bird photos I took of the tufted titmouse twins but I used a Corel free script on the lower one which changed it to Minimalist Gray 4, an interesting effect. Otherwise the two photos were too similar and the gold seed in the birdfeeder was overpowering.
I also got free Thanksgiving clip-art from Corel and used it here. The cluster top right is called a “badge” and comes with a thick white border in a transparent background. I’m not sure what to do with it but I colored the white border green. Corel has a freebie every Friday in the Discovery Center.
November 16, 2020 at 7:35 pm #49230Thanks Cristina … mwah!
November 16, 2020 at 7:43 pm #49231Delightful work Ann. Lovely photos of the tufted titmouse and you have showcased them very well with the sketch layout. Thank you very much for the tip regards the Friday freebie from the Discovery Center. And … your color scheme is well suited to the photos.
November 17, 2020 at 11:51 am #49264Decided to try my hand at some Christmas ornaments. Still making decisions about the calendar.
November 17, 2020 at 12:54 pm #49270So I made a bunch of ornaments and then used Cassel’s seamless pattern script to make Christmas paper out of the ornaments..One thing after another and I ended up with this.
November 17, 2020 at 1:50 pm #49278Still messing around with Cassel’s Seamless Pattern script. These are the pattern and the pattern applied to a 3600×3600 scrap page.
November 17, 2020 at 6:21 pm #49294I won the Ribbon Flower Script and have been making some flowers. With my husband in hospital I have not much time left to anything else. I’ll come and look what everybody is making and look on FB as well, but that is it. Hopefully my husband will be home just before the weekend, but he will need some time to recover. And to top it of; next week we get a new frontdoor fitted with its frame. For the time being here are my flowers, they will come in handy on some future LO.
November 17, 2020 at 7:27 pm #49301Wow! A beautiful Christmas page Lynda … very Christmassy. Terrific layout and I love your papers … way cool my friend. ;D
November 17, 2020 at 7:29 pm #49302Lovely flowers Corrie … and, yes, very handy for elements on a LO.
November 17, 2020 at 9:01 pm #49326I’m sure many of you were at Carole’s class at Corel this afternoon on making calendars from scratch. Pure enjoyment and who knew it was so easy to do — even when you aren’t given the elements to make them as we were earlier! She is always so full of tips and tricks. The font she used called Mama … with the glyphs … just thought I might mention, it’s free on DaFont.com. Easy as pie calling up the character map to make them. Always something interesting to learn! I made a quick one just to cement what I learned in the ole noggin! LOL That’s the only way I can keep it there. Thanks, Carole.
November 17, 2020 at 9:15 pm #49334Minka, I am glad you picked up more tricks. I always try to include something new or uncommon in my classes, webinars and projects. And thank you for reminding everyone of that FREE font, that is fun to use.
November 18, 2020 at 10:15 am #49376I just LOVE what everyone is doing. Thanks for the smiles.
November 18, 2020 at 11:24 am #49382It was a great class. I really enjoyed it…and, of course, it is on YouTube so we can revisit…which I will do. Thank you, Carole! Minka, love your calendar!
November 18, 2020 at 2:15 pm #49396Thanks Annie, you’re a sweetheart.
Corrie, I love your ribbon flowers. I guess I’ll have to get another script. 😀November 19, 2020 at 11:22 am #49443I just did Carole’s Subway Art challenge from her blog. They are meant to be printed and possibly framed on the wall bur I made a digital version with a frame. The quotes are from an old daily meditations book called Courage to Change. Each line of text is separate on a vector layer so you can pull them out and change if needed. I also duplicated them and made raster copies in order to back up the text and make it stronger without a shadow.
November 19, 2020 at 2:15 pm #49448Ann,
I really like your subway art. I can see putting something like that on the wall.
LyndaNovember 19, 2020 at 2:17 pm #49450Corrie,
I got the Ribbon flower script. been fooling around with it.November 19, 2020 at 6:35 pm #49455Lynda, very nice and because we all have different ribbons and combinations every flower is unique!
November 19, 2020 at 6:49 pm #49456Corrie,
I have a question for you. How did you do bloem-4. small red petals? ]
Thanks,
LyndaNovember 19, 2020 at 8:34 pm #49459With all the COVID restrictions, we are still allowed to curl in our province. However, the club rules have changed to ensure that we all stay safe. So I thought it might be worthwhile to make up a subway sign to highlight these new rules.
I saw Carole’s email about subway-art and Ann’s thoughtful subway-art here in this thread. It spurred me on to make one. It was surprisingly easy and fun. Hope you are all staying safe.
November 19, 2020 at 11:45 pm #49463I have created one subway art but have not resized it for the Campus. As I said in another post…I am not happy with my creations lately. I will get it resized and posted soon. Carole also has a subway art lesson in Creative Scraps. It is a little different but the technique is pretty much the same.
Ann, I too can see your project framed and hanging on my wall. Art, you have given me an idea. I should do a poster for our pickleball group rules. Wonderful creations! Both of you rock!
Lynda and Corrie, you are busy with scripts and are creating wonderful elements. I need to use my scripts more. You two inspire me.
November 20, 2020 at 2:44 am #49466Ooh! I love your calendar Minka, simple and delightful and made more so by the beautiful color scheme you used. Lovely, You Go Girl! 😉
November 20, 2020 at 2:47 am #49467Just delightful Ann and those little quotes have an impact, well done Hun. 😉
November 20, 2020 at 2:50 am #49468You just couldn’t resist Lynda and it paid off my friend. Those ribbon flowers are lovely, keep playin Hun. 😉
November 20, 2020 at 2:53 am #49469Oh well done Art, very clever of you. I must have a go at this subway art, seems like it would be a lot of fun. 😉
November 20, 2020 at 2:57 am #49470Looking forward to seeing your Pickleball Group Rules as subway art Bonnie. I have heard so many say they are not happy with their own creations lately … I do think those darn planets are badly aligned … we need a break! Maybe 2021 will be kinder to us, lol!
November 20, 2020 at 3:05 am #49472Well Campers I have made my first Christmas card for 2020. All my own work … even the Christmas tree! I traced one using the pen tool cos I loved the lopsided top and then went to work with colouring and shading (using the cut out tool). It was like playing with colour in pages when you were a kid. The patterns I used for colouring were also made by myself following Carole’s tuts … as you do! The envelope was also made following one of Carole’s tuts and the card was a template I created myself an age ago. Thanks for takin a peek my friends.
November 20, 2020 at 5:35 am #49477These are a couple of Christmas papers I created today using Carole’s script – SeamlessPattern. It is a wonderful script and I can see it is going to get a lot of use on this pc. Thanks for takin a peek my friends.
November 20, 2020 at 9:30 am #49479Annie,
Wow, I just love, love, love your Christmas card and your seamless patterns are also great.
Thanks for sharing. Made my morning.
