Hello Scrapbook Campus Friends. March 22nd heralds World Water Day. Today my page is centered around that … water. These are the Curracurrong Falls located south of Sydney. All my own making. The alpha used is Retro Grunge by Clikchic.
I doubt the falls would look like this at the moment as the floods from there and all along the coast up to and including The Sunshine Coast are devastating. We are getting rain here currently and we have been warned that the rain will be heading further up our way over the next 24hrs. There are tent cities popping up everywhere and it appears the military will be deployed for air lift rescues. Australia – drought, fires, COVID and now floods – who would want to live here hey! Just kidding, I love it and the regional areas were mostly spared the COVID debacle. It will be what it is and human beings just have to go with the flow.
Thanks for takin a peek. ;D
March 22, 2021 at 4:49 am #55175Annie, this is a beautiful layout. It has so many details, so much work behind it… I love the background paper and colors. Great work, my friend!
March 22, 2021 at 5:04 am #55178After a long time without posting or creating anything, I have something to post. It feels good to be working with PSP again.
One layout was created using the “Around the World template” by Scrapping with Liz – Elements from “Hot Air Balloon mini kit” by Marisa Lerin – Frames Pairs by Lynn Grieveson.
The other one I created to practice the Lab10-M10 tutorials (Cross pattern – Mushroom – Grossgrain arrows).
Papers: Shabby Princess-Promise paper sunshine – Creative Market Watercolor Forest Plants pattern2
Alpha-Beads-Baby freebie and Metallic-Rope12 picture tube by Cassel.
March 22, 2021 at 9:35 am #55188Here is the March Bootcamp-Lesson 4: Carole’s “Friendship” page. I have 3 American robin photos from the photographer Izzy Martinez which were perfect for this exercise. I call it “Rockin’ Robins.” The font is Farmhouse and I created the plaid using the colors of the left photo. My PSP2021 choked on enlarging so using directions from Merlin at Corel Customer Care, I upgraded my Intel graphics software. Merlin was super efficient and helpful. Crossing my fingers that PSP will continue to behave. I like to make plaids from photos so the colors match.
March 22, 2021 at 12:48 pm #55197I will show you what I have been working on for my daughter. She wanted a picture to be cropped and made into a 5X7 to put in a particular frame. Since a square will not fit in a rectangular frame, I used scrapbooking skills (and Cassel’s corner punches) for the final product. As you can see from the original picture, after cropping to the main subjects against the white part of the background, I had to clone out the hand, bottle, etc. on the ledge in back of them. Oops! after that there was no top of the ledge to match the other side! So copy that side’s ledge and put it on the other side as a mirror image. So the 2nd image shows what I ended up with.
March 22, 2021 at 5:46 pm #55222Wow Mary, great work and it shows you can use PSP for different purposes!
I made a card for Easter with the text in German for friends in Switserland and I will change the text to Dutch and English later on as e-cards. I have to thank Sue Thomas for the lace mask she gave us on Facebook. I made the background with eastereggs by using the blend mode set to screen because I only wanted a hint of them. I hope it is visible on this resized version. On the printed version it looks fine, just as I wanted it to be.
March 22, 2021 at 6:54 pm #55223Thank you, Corrie. Love your easter card. Yes, thanks to Sue Thomas for that oval lace mask.
March 23, 2021 at 2:10 am #55246Great job, Mary.
March 23, 2021 at 5:48 am #55251Ann, another nice page for the Bootcamp Challenge… It is interesting to revisit those layouts and create something totally different, with more knowledge, than the first time. At least, this is what I think when I see mine.
Mary, seeing the original, you sure did a great job.
Corrie, the layout is so cute…. the background paper came out perfectly, subtle but there.
March 23, 2021 at 10:41 am #55256Karon, thanks. Really like your On Leave layout!
Annie, Mossy Frog layout is great!
Lynda, Happy Spring made me smile!
Val, thanks so much.
I recently purchased the zipper script and had to make a pocket of flowers.
March 23, 2021 at 5:40 pm #55284Thanks dear Cristina … I always appreciate your comments my friend and I am happy that you liked the page. Hugs from me. 😉
March 23, 2021 at 6:02 pm #55287Cristina, I love both these pages. My daughter went on a hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia in 2017 … she loved it. Your background paper is so suited to this layout … is it a texture or a pattern? … either way it has done the job beautifully. Your page on Olivia is simple and sweet and again your background paper brings it all together. In case you haven’t guessed, I have a thing about background papers … have created hundreds of them and never tire of it, lol! Well done my friend. ;D
March 23, 2021 at 6:11 pm #55288Ann, lovely photos of the ‘rockin robins’ and a terrific job on the plaid, brings the page together beautifully. You have a good eye for colour and your works shows it. I have had issues with PSP2021 from the beginning and that is why I always have PSP17 open as well. I don’t think I have had to save as often in any of the others as I do in 21. I hope Corel’s next upgrade irons out some of the humps! 😉
March 23, 2021 at 6:16 pm #55289Mary, job very well done indeed my friend and I notice you even tackled the camera red eye. Your daughter should be well pleased. You Go Girl! 😉
March 23, 2021 at 6:21 pm #55291Corrie, you have created a very happy page. The lace mask compliments the daffodils and the bottom border is very sweet. The easter eggs are nicely opaque on the background paper, just as you wanted. Job well done my friend. 😉
March 23, 2021 at 6:30 pm #55295Thanks Betsy, much appreciated Hon … I thought he was kinda funky, lol! Clever idea with the zipper … a pocket of flowers, now that is neat and a beautiful background to boot. Well done my friend. 😉
March 23, 2021 at 8:21 pm #55310Ah Lynda: It is getting to be closer to summer here. And your layout is making me wish it was spring.
Annie: What an outstanding page on the waterfall. Your picture? I’m loving how you include blending of items that relate the topici in the background.
Cristina: Glad to see you back scrapping again. Awesome hot air balloon layout. Marking the globe was a great idea and I love how you fastened the photos to the page and used torn photos “Olivia” (the layout and her) is adorable. The colors used for the background really bring out the reds, blues and greens of the photo. Using the mushroom as part of the photo is so cute.
Ann: Rockin’ Robins is a fabulous page. I really like the neutral background which really makes the plaids and photos pop.
Mary: Fantastic job on altering the photo.
Corrie: Great Easter card. Using the screen blend on the Easter eggs makes for a lovely background.
Betsy: Thank you kindly. Your flower bag is beautiful and would make a lovely card.
March 23, 2021 at 8:49 pm #55312Again, thanks so much Karon. Not my photo … sourced from Australian Geographic. I am a dreadful photographer … always had shaky hands so cameras are not ma thang! I overlay the images and blend mostly to represent digital scrapbooking but also because I am lazy … so much easier than creating elements! There you have it … caught out! ;D
March 23, 2021 at 9:43 pm #55316Just playing with Balls and Bubbles. more exploration is needed.
March 24, 2021 at 4:49 am #55321Too much wonderful work for me to comment on individually due to a horrible headache. But know that I love it all. <3
March 24, 2021 at 5:40 am #55324Betsy, beautiful work with the zipper script. Carole has so many amazing scripts that it is hard to choose what to get.
Annie, thank you so much for the words of encouragement; they do mean a lot.
I, too, would love to go on a hot air balloon ride; my niece and nephew said they didn’t see the time pass…I will do this in my next life. : ) …The background paper (Tough Stuff paper5) I got from Linn Grieveson (The Lilypad). This site has pretty good offers almost weekly, and they vary from 20% to 50%. Here and there, I find something that I like very much.
You and Sue inspired me to create something different with the background papers, but I am just starting… still a lot to learn. Hugs and love, my friend. <3
Karon, you are always so kind and sweet. <3 Thank you so much for your words of encouragement; I value them a lot.
Lynda, maybe that more exploration is needed, but I like very much what you have done so far. Great work.
Michele, my friend, thank you very much… I had migraines for many years, and I know how debilitating they can be… I do hope you feel better so we can see your beautiful work again. Get well soon! Hugs and love. <3
March 24, 2021 at 10:15 am #55334Thanks Annie, Karon and Cristina. Haven’t decided what to work on next. Carole’s scripts are a lot of fun to work with.
March 24, 2021 at 10:22 am #55336Thank so much, Cristina. I’m afraid the headache is being caused by a toothache. Waiting to hear from the dentist.
March 24, 2021 at 1:21 pm #55340Headache or not, I still had to do the daily pic for my gaming group. I fell in love with the girl I found on pngwing; it wasn’t a great transparency so I had to clean it up a bit. Using freehand selection I selected a large portion of her dress, carefully avoiding the folds; copied and pasted it to a new layer. Applied seamless tiling, gaussian blur, and repeated. Resized it and copied it back to the original. Since there were transparent gaps, I added a white layer below. Added a bubble effect behind her. For the frames I selected all, contracted, applied the 3D cutout effect, and repeated. The font is Sweet Allita.
March 24, 2021 at 1:59 pm #55341Wow, Michele, this is amazingly beautiful! I love the idea of adding a bubble effect behind her and the subtle frames… Of course, I love the font and already downloaded it. : )
Headache and toothache are not a good combination. : ( … I hope you get well soon.
March 24, 2021 at 6:52 pm #55364Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery – I’ve been working on a winter theme from a layout I saw and admired. Here’s the result. It took me forever because when I went to convert from .pspimage to .jpg 600×600 for this forum, I put in “600 PERCENT” instead of pixels. My computer crashed about 5 times before I finally figured out what I was doing!
March 24, 2021 at 6:53 pm #55365Top result Michele, such beautiful colours and very clever. Well done my friend and I hope you feel better soon. <3
March 24, 2021 at 6:58 pm #55366Connie I think this is really lovely and your layout is a compliment to the original creator. Nice photo and it is all knitted together beautifully with the background paper. I had a chuckle at your 600% … how many times have I done similar! Well done Hon. ;D
March 24, 2021 at 7:52 pm #55372I’m with you Cristina … hot air balloons will be in a next life for me, lol! I love visiting The Lily Pad, lots of wonderful stuff there and a good source of inspiration. And, you are most welcome to my words of encouragement, your work is also an inspiration to me, thank you my friend. Hugs……Annie T
March 24, 2021 at 9:22 pm #55374I had a very pleasant hour or so this morning shooting and listening to a few more new Robin arrivals. I particularly liked this shot, and felt I had to showcase him. I created a simple canvas textured frame, and word art. I took a selection of the frame, promoted to a new layer, duplicated, to create the side orders. I selected colours from the photo.
My goodness, I’ve just scrolled through all the wonderful and diverse pages, far to many to comment on individually. Absolutely, fabulously creative bunch of people you are.
