I’ve never used that effect on a frame, Lynda. After seeing yours, I’m going to have to try it.

Love what you did, Julia. If you send out Easter cards, you’re all set!

Lynda: Both of your layouts are lovely. The patterned background on the sailboat is perfect and Carlos is such a cutie.

Julia: A darling layout. So colorful and well put together.

        Annie: Thank you so much.

I made a couple of things from the Filter Forge class,  The class gave me some clarity on the program and Carole’s discount was really nice. I paid less for 10 than I did for 9.

I am loving Filter Forge and made a full alpha today … direct copy of Cassel and Lynda.  I get sooo distracted when I am working with the filter that it takes me an age to create anything.  Just so much to learn and so many pretties to play with!  Thanks for taking a peek my friends.  ;D

Lynda and Annie: I’m admiring your work with Filter Forge. I did buy the basic model (thanking Carole for the coupon!) This is the first I’ve encountered it. Now I need some tutorials as I find it a bit overwhelming!

Everyone here is doing a great job with different types of work and techniques.

Karon, you are really inspiring me to go back to the Lab Tutorials! : ) Nice job.

Julia, cute and colorful page. Nice work.

Annie, you created a beautiful alpha.

Lynda, what wonderful work with the old map.

Ann, I have had filter forge for a long time and never knew what to do with it. With Carole’s help, I now have a general idea. I will go over her tutorial until I am confident. I hope you do the same. You’ll be happy you did.

Thanks for your comments Michele, Ann and Cristina, much appreciated my friends.
Lynda I love your mandalas, you are going to have lots of lovely elements to use in future projects. Like yourself I have had Filter Forge for a long time but I got lost at first pass. Now I am itching to explore it much further, the webinar was a terrific start. I must say again that your map was excellent, exquisite really, I will have to give it a go but for now the webinar is closed so I shall just have to wait.
Ann, don’t be intimidated by the program. I only have the basic as well … missed out on the deal because I had upgraded once I knew what the webinar was going to be about … that’s what I get for being a smarty pants! I just did a Google search for Filter Forge tutorials and 3 video tutorials popped up. Two are by Cassel and one is from Filter Forge. Maybe that would be of help to you.
Cassel, hats off to you. You always keep us interested by surprising us with different techniques etcetera to keep us on our toes. Just when I start to get a bit restless and lacking in inspiration you come to the fore. The Campus has been a wonderful learning curve for me, thank you.

This one was created for the new challenge.  The fonts were both freebies from Creative Fabrica .  The Joyfull Summer was on the daily gifts. and the Baby Olivia was the one Cassel mentioned.  The pineapples were also a freebie from there on the daily gifts. The Photo is mine and the frame was from pixel scrappers.

I wanted to make a background using the original pic (Hayden Williams, illustrator), but I didn’t want the colors from the woman on it. I selected her from the pic, inverted the selection, and deleted her. Applied Effects: Image Effects: Seamless Tiling; duplicated the layer several times and moved the layers around so the blank space was covered; merged the layers. Then I applied Effects: Distortion: Displacement Map using the Canvas Course map. I’m sure there’s an easier way to achieve this, but I make stuff up as I go, especially when doing the daily pic for my gaming group.

The font is Best Life, freebie from The Hungry JPEG.

                                Constructive criticism is always welcome.

One more non-pickleball…Poppy and Penny will do tricks for treats…sit, shake, sit up, high five and ring a bell…I have not been able to teach them to speak yet…working on it. In this layout they are sitting up…can’t tell because I cropped the photo…

Michele, it began with Poppy, the tabbyco. She loves grass and will do anything to get some. That was her motivation. She is a smart kitty but it’s the treat and especially grass. Fresh, soft blades of grass. Penny spent the first several years on her own pretty much. She was very thin when she was rescued. She will do anything for food…and grass. She watched Poppy earning treats and taught herself the tricks. In fact, she is often faster than Poppy to perform and receive a treat.

I FINALLY had my first Covid shot yesterday. I planned on not doing anything today … just in case. But happy to say not a darn thing happened. My arm isn’t even sore. Happy camper with that! I was fooling around with some of the “freebies” Carole offers on her blog and one of them was the Projections. She kindly did not merge them … and the summer one sang to me as the blue was the “Grabber Blue” of Mustang fame. If you have ever owned a Mustang, you will always be sorry you parted with it. I’ve had other sporty cars, but that Mustang lives on in my heart. If only I knew how I would miss it. I love her word frame round script, too. Mindless playing and remembering the old days. 🙂

Not that these are as great and complicated as Michele’s background she created, But I wanted to show a sample of some of the stuff that can be done with the pic to painting plug in on a more or less plain background.  For some reason it didn’t do much when using the original blue color.  I was just having fun playing around a while back.

Cool pages Bonnie, although you look like you are sweating up a storm. Crocuses are so pretty and don’t last anywhere near long enough to continue to enjoy their beauty. Your Poppy, Penny page is terrific fun and cool background page my friend. ;D
