December 19, 2020 at 12:45 am #50584Minka terrific background for your photos … cleverly inspired. A lovely piece of memorabilia you have created my friend, well done. 😉
December 19, 2020 at 1:14 am #50585Val a very cute gnome. I love the way his beard swoops over the chair/table. Clever idea to use the garland for the stripes on his hat … very Christmassy! ;D
December 19, 2020 at 6:54 am #50594Karon, thank you so much; your words of appreciation and incentive means a lot to me. >3 You also never forget anyone in your comments. : )
Ann, Day 17 layout is beautiful, and I love the snow script… I wonder if this is not one of Carole’s. : )
Minka, what a lovely layout to register these unforgettable moments.
Val, thank you. : ) Carole has some great picture tubes, and I only remembered to use those in my last version. Your Gnome is so cute, and what a great idea to use the garland on the hat.
December 19, 2020 at 10:23 am #50599I was just playing this morning with some of the “freebies” Carole so generously contributed on the Corel Discovery page. Loads of things there to play with if you don’t already have them. I’m trying to psych myself into the Holiday Spirit. Kind of hard to do with no family coming down this year and hardly anyone moving about here, either. All for a good thing, of course, but makes you have to work a little harder with holiday glee! :o) Freebies make people happy, so grab them while you can! Carole, alone, had some wonderful things there for us! I’m off to make some Christmas Cookies … who doesn’t get happy with Christmas Cookies and some heavy handed sprinkles! Less than a week, it will have all come and gone. So I am going to enjoy while I can.
December 19, 2020 at 8:44 pm #50607A fun page Dorothy, well done, enjoyed viewing. 😉
December 19, 2020 at 9:02 pm #50610A fun page Dorothy, well done, enjoyed viewing. 😉
December 19, 2020 at 9:34 pm #50613The sunset was gorgeous and I am glad you found a unique way to use the garland.
December 19, 2020 at 9:53 pm #50614I love the layout and quote… but not sure I’m looking forward to retirement if I have to keep doing all the work! GRIN.
December 19, 2020 at 9:56 pm #50615Love the orchid. Wish I had that ability. To keep them alive! Your layout colors really go well with it.
December 20, 2020 at 1:26 pm #50628I am looking forward to MY retirement, even if it will no longer allow me “days off”! 🙂
December 20, 2020 at 1:41 pm #50629I hear you, Carole Cassel! Since I’ve retired I’m no longer sure what day of the week it is so “days off” seem to slide off into the sunset. 😉
December 20, 2020 at 3:55 pm #50636I have a few pieces to post: I made a gnome (thanks for the PDF, Carole!) Unfortunately, I struggle with the Wool Tube making the hair/beard/moustache.
I also caught up on my Advent Days: 18, 19 & 20. I utilized the Christmas freebie cards from Corel, just add photos. Their .pspimage files are hinky, though, so I stuck to the .png versions.
December 20, 2020 at 4:25 pm #50644Ann Seeber, awesome Advent 17. The photos are great and I loved hearing about their history. Thanks for the heads up on the snow script. I haven’t bought it yet; but will keep this in mind.
Minka, this is a beautiful layout, I would have never guessed what the background was. Truly inspiration can come from anywhere. And while pictures aren’t needed to remember those times before, they are a treasure onto themselves.
Val, while I had already seen the gnome, I like this even better. Love that you put him on a stool, background is perfect.

December 21, 2020 at 12:30 pm #50668Still working with Corel freebies, this Advent Day 21 layout uses their window frame to which I added my Cardinal photo shot out MY window with my iPhone.
It’s also celebrating the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year. Every day gets longer by one minute from now until June.December 21, 2020 at 5:59 pm #50694I appreciate everyone’s patience as I get the hang of making comments. I thought I was supposed to ‘reply’ to each one but then you lose who I was talking when you read my comments.
Following along with the pros…
Minka – Really like your gloves and the layout with the train. #50599
Ann S – I really like your gnome!!! He brought such a smile to my face. And those are great pictures in the cards. Your Advent Day 21 with the window frame is beautiful. #50636, #50668
Karon – Like how you did the silhouette and the planets on the Apprentice layout, The #cousins is so girly and perfect for the girls, the Mouse made me laugh. #50647, #50650, #50655
Bonnie – What a great idea with the paddles and how you used the words. Though I love your Christmas tree shape the best since I’m in the mood for Christmas! #50503 to #50513
Corrie – Your holiday snowman was just the thing to make going thru here fun. #50382December 22, 2020 at 8:04 am #50723Advent Day 22 still using Corel Christmas Freebies. This actually was a .pdf to print as a card but I operated on it, added some Corel clip-art and my text. Heading down the stretch here… 😉
December 22, 2020 at 1:03 pm #50742Finally got my gnome done. Please meet Petrus Arickson (I named him after my great grandfather).
December 22, 2020 at 1:16 pm #50743Dorothy, how true. Great layout, needs to be framed.
Minka, your Christmas fun layout is so colorful and Christmasy. We were lucky to be able to get our grandson for Christmas, so I am happy; but there are alot who won’t have this opportunity.
Carole, careful what you wish for, LOL. I “retired” then my boss asked me to come back part time. Good compromise though.
Ann Seeber, your gnome is so cute. Love the mustache and belt. Using the Christmas cards as your Advent calendar is a stroke of genius. I am especially partial to the cat. Though I really liking the cardinal out the window. Advent 22 would make a beautiful Christmas card.
Annie, thank you so very much for the kind words. You have been such an inspiration to me.
Val, thanks sis. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
December 22, 2020 at 5:22 pm #50760While everyone has been playing with snow, snowmen and gnomes … I am battling Cuban Tree Frogs. While I like frogs in general, I do NOT LIKE the invasive Cuban Tree Frogs. They are messy and big and can jump what seems like a country mile. I had to have my roof vents all screened as they love to get in those, too. They can even get in the house that way. Now they are finding a lovely Christmas Home in the accordion Hurricane Shutters. Well, as with any living breathing creature they do two things. Eat and poop. Not pretty on your windows. I have learned they are quite aggressive too when you spray them with a high pressure hose. They almost laugh at you. It’s like a Disney ride to them. They love it. I read you have to spray them with vinegar. Anyone ever done that? I wondered if it would etch the window glass? The only gnome I would have here would be a frognome! Merry Christmas – Happy Holidays, everyone.
December 22, 2020 at 11:03 pm #50773Way cute Minka, I love it, a fun tag … even though they are a pest! ;D
December 23, 2020 at 5:38 am #50777Advent – Day 23 – Still working with the Corel freebies. This is a photo of my daughter, Debbie’s, cat on her boyfriend’s lap. The boyfriend is camera shy and will not grant permission to publish his photo but he didn’t exclude the cat! 🙂
I sent it to my daughter without the Advent text and said it was for Aaron; his Christmas card from me. This is just a drop-the-photo-in kind of card and I added the Advent text. Only one more to go and then I’ll have to do something special for the 25th. 😉
December 23, 2020 at 4:40 pm #50788Now I made a card for my daughter, Deb, grandma of baby Magic. The tree layout is from the Corel freebie stash this year. Luckily, I had enough photos. They live in California whereas I’m in New York.
