Day 4
Using the kit you provided. Lucky to get this done as my program is acting a little crazy. It froze and luckily it keeps the project that had to be shut down without saving. I’m learning though. Sad to say I am missing my Photoshop a little.
January 16, 2019 at 10:53 pm #24655January 16, 2019 at 10:59 pm #24656Everyone is doing such great work in here.
I love looking at everyone’s results.
January 17, 2019 at 12:09 am #24658Here is my Day 4. I thought I would use the image from the end of the trip. Thanks for another great lesson Carole.
January 17, 2019 at 2:29 am #24660This is my Day 3 page. I used a kit called “Irish Luck (dzzptt) – I have no idea now who the designer was! The page is fairly simple, but the photo is the main emphasis.
It is great seeing the work everyone has done, certainly providing inspiration.
I also agree whole-heartedly with the comment about how good a teacher Carole is, so much better than a lot I have tried to follow.
January 17, 2019 at 2:35 am #24662I have also caught up with Day 4. The photo is my great-nephew Arthur who happens to have been born on my birthday (twinned birthdays happen a bit in my family!) It was really nice that we were able to travel to England to share his 18th birthday, missing out on family events is one of the disadvantages of being 13,000 miles away. Thank goodness for Skype!
The kit is “Celebrate” by Shelle Designs. I did put drop shadows on the banner and title but the background is so dark they don’t really show. The banner is two duplicate layers moved to form one banner. The word “Celebrate” was in blue and didn’t really standout so I locked the transparency and painted it with the pink from the banner.
January 17, 2019 at 3:01 am #24664January 17, 2019 at 4:26 am #24667January 17, 2019 at 4:38 am #24669Here is my first attempt at the ‘table’. I decided that it was too much to eat, and decided to use my knife and fork to cut it. I also like my pepper and salt on the table.
Thanks

January 17, 2019 at 4:45 am #24671This is my Day 3. We were driving when we spotted this Koala in the tree just over the road, near home. It’s not often we we see them so close to the road. Of course, we live in Australia. Thanks Carole for these week tutorials and challenges. I’ve found that I always learn something new, even if we have used the program for years. It’s great.
Cheers

January 17, 2019 at 4:49 am #24673And I thought I’d include Day 4 as well. I love the way you do the watercolour and sketching on the photos, Carole, I have used a number of times. These photos were taken at Kotor when we did a cruise there last year.
Thanks again for everything.
Cheers

January 17, 2019 at 8:55 am #24680Really beautiful work, everyone!
My homework:
Day 1 – Workspace Color= Dark gray // Background Color= Medium gray // Toolbar= standard // Palettes= Materials and Layers
Day 2 – Layers
Day 3 – I used a free kit from Shabby Princess Design (Promise Collection)
January 17, 2019 at 9:19 am #24683Day 5. Many of you will know that I’m not a scrapbooker. When I do scrapbook I make my pages simple and minimal when it comes to adding elements. No kit used. The butterfly and flower elements I picked up online. Out of bounds technique was used on the butterfly in the round frame. The work displayed is wonderful, each and every one unique and personal. Well done to one and all!
January 17, 2019 at 9:20 am #24684I love seeing how everyone makes Carole’s layout in her video their own. It is the personal touches that makes them special. I don’t reply to every post, but all of you are doing great projects and I love seeing them.
Hugs,
DeLoris

Here’s my 3rd scrapbook page. I created the red paper by using the eye dropper to pick up the red color from train photo, then filled the piece with the flood fill tool. Added texture to red pieces using the texture effect. Recolored orange glitter paper to be red and used as a pattern to flood fill pieces behind the photos and the title. Black and white paper is by AMB Illustrations, compass from Carta Bella, train signal from PNG Tree.
January 17, 2019 at 4:46 pm #24694Day 5
Jessica is another of my Grand daughters. I created my own background and used an overlay from the kit. I used a few other elements from the Sweet Shoppe kit “Soar” from the link Carole gave us. I selected the butterfly and inverted the selection and tried to repeat the look that Carole had on hers by just spray painting outside the butterfly. These girls are grown with children of their own now. It is such fun looking back! I forgot to use the glitter.
January 17, 2019 at 4:54 pm #24697Finally did Day 3. (Life got busy). Here is what I did.
I struggled moving the text to right justify. Kept moving it off the page and I coudn’t move it over. I will play more with it.
Edited to add: I want to “mat” my picture. Put a contrasting color around it to make it stand out more. I think that would be creating a rectangle of color and layering it behind the pic. Hopefully we will learn how to create rectangles this week! 🙂
January 17, 2019 at 4:58 pm #24699January 17, 2019 at 5:45 pm #24704OK, here’s Day 04 – I used the little skipper kit that Carole provided the link to. I think I covered all the topics in the tutorial…however…I have no idea how I got the little fish to cut off at the edge of the water. I placed it there and was thinking about copying a section of the water to overlay the bottom of the fish so I pushed that layer below the picture and then I tried to select the water. For some reason it selected the outline of the fish and gave me a ‘promoted layer’. I was then able to ‘merge’ that layer (I guess with the picture) and viola – I had a fish ‘in’ the water. I have no clue why it did what it did but I liked what I got so…there ya go.
January 17, 2019 at 6:06 pm #24706Just got around to looking at everyone else’s wonderful pages. And their comments about how they created them.
I really have a lot to learn! When this bootcamp is done, I will probably find some PSP tutorials on youtube and learn the software better.
January 17, 2019 at 6:16 pm #24707@Casey, there is much more than the Bootcamp in the Campus. It can keep you busy for months while learning more and more!
January 17, 2019 at 6:45 pm #24708Hi Cassel, I’ve been searching my email and cannot find Day 5 of the bootcamp. Last one I got was adventure. Has today’s been sent? If so, I did not get. Please resend to me and am sorry to put you through the trouble. Have been enjoying this and seeing everyone’s beautiful pages. Everyone seems so nice and creative. Thanks so much for the time you have dedicated to helping others. I know I appreciate you sharing your knowledge to help me.
January 17, 2019 at 7:53 pm #24709@Rhonda, I’ll send it to you in a minute.
January 17, 2019 at 8:46 pm #24711Well, here is day 5…I tried to do it like Carole did because I wanted to learn everything so I didn’t stray much on this one lol. Still not real sure about the drop shadow on the thicker elements, I think I did this right, but not sure? The brads are the only things I changed the drop shadow on and I couldn’t find anything like the butterfly you had to try that one 🙁
Everyone has awesome looking pages…I have a LOT to learn! I agree with Casey, will have to look on youtube to learn more. Carole, you said there is more in Campus then bootcamp….but you have to pay for that don’t you?

January 17, 2019 at 8:51 pm #24713My project for Boot Camp #4. I’m slow but I’m learning lots! Thank you Cassie!
January 17, 2019 at 9:07 pm #24714@Angel, yes, much of the additional content is paid, but not everything. Yet, it is up to you to decide if you want to search all over the place for free tutorials or pay a little and have everything at the tip of your finger. Either one is fine, and you will never be excluded from the Campus 🙂
January 17, 2019 at 10:13 pm #24716Day 4 page… I think that I’m learning a lot here about how to use the tools I have not used in a long time. It has been 10 years since I last used corel of any kind. Sad to say as then I knew it in side out.. I like a lot of the ones I’m seeing so for..

January 17, 2019 at 10:44 pm #24718Here is my Day 5. I used the kit that was suggested and it had some of the some elements as Carole used so I went with the animal theme from the trip. The photos are all different size but I aligned them at the top and bottom to make it work the best. Everyone on here is so creative.
