Here is the next Word challenge for you.
In September the word will be WHEN. This should give you plenty of opportunities to showcase something from the past (when we went…), from your future (when I retire…) or any fact (I love it when…). So, WHEN will you post something for us to enjoy?
Are you up to the challenge? Post your projects in this thread (it can be older projects you did or recent ones; it does not matter) or, if you want, our PSP Scrapbook Showcase pinboard on Pinterest is always there to showcase what is being shared in the Campus (if you need an invite, let me know)
October 21, 2017 at 8:42 am #15414And here is one layout I did. Although the word WHEN is not in the title, it is quite prominent in the story.
This layout was done with a series of elements that were from different sources.
October 22, 2017 at 2:20 am #15430Cassel, your page is great! it put a smile on my face as I read the journaling.
For this Word challenge I have done a card which I will add to the collection I am doing for my sister-in-law as a gift. The free vintage image is from the graphic fairy and I have extracted the rose portion I wanted to use. I made a beaded heart with a preset shape and Cassel’s seed bead tube using the vector tube script. I also added an embossed overlay which I have in a kit that I purchased.
Dawn.
October 22, 2017 at 12:04 pm #15433Cassel, “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade”… in your case you created a creative and funny layout. I think by now you have your long-awaited shed. 🙂
Dawn, I love all your cards and this is no different. Everything is so beautiful: the beaded heart, the rose element, the overlay… I also love the golden font. Great work!
October 22, 2017 at 12:23 pm #15434Cristina, it is funny that you mention that because this summer, we actually did get a shed, and he (my son) helped out building it.
The Shigloo he built was just something fun: he wanted to build an igloo big enough to go in with friends, but making ice blocks was challenging so he figured that he could make blocks of ice by stuffing boxes with snow and piling them up. The result was… well… just like you see in the picture! What harm was there in letting him “work” on this project, even though it could never end up being something functional. He had fun. He was busy and getting in trouble otherwise. And a fun topic for a scrap page!
October 23, 2017 at 12:20 am #15444Cristina, thank you very much for taking the time to comment on my card. I am enjoying doing them at present… there is still a few more to do to fill up the box, so it will keep me busy for awhile yet.
best wishes,
Dawn.
October 23, 2017 at 11:10 am #15445Cassel, the story behind the layout is even better! And you are right, most important is that he had fun and I guess the whole family did too. 🙂
October 26, 2017 at 12:24 am #15505Nice layout Cassel, and I love your card. I have been very busy with cards for special birthdays (two 70th, a 50th, an 80th and now a 90th, plus a joint 60th birthday 40th wedding anniversary!) both for me and for the Golf Club I belong to. It is fantastic to be able to personalise these cards with photos. I have also done A4 collages for them. Now I need to think about Christmas cards, though the cost of postage to England means I will probably rely on emails and Facebook!
So to WHEN. This challenge presented lots of ideas but I thought the story of a nice and very helpful young man (well young to me anyway!) would be suitable. The papers are from a kit called Kindred from Scrap Girls, the alpha was from there as well. The font was Segoe Script. I used the Torn Page script from Cassel and also the screw tube from there.
Now to start on the Up To Date.
October 26, 2017 at 4:59 pm #15506Hello Marlene, the layout of your page is really nice and the story is great…. sometimes when we need help in those kind of circumstances new friendships are born.
Dawn.
October 27, 2017 at 1:52 pm #15517Marlene, your friends must be very happy and thankful having you to create all these great memories for them.
Your layout is very nice! A situation that was scary at first turn out to leave good memories.
October 27, 2017 at 2:21 pm #15519This is my contribution for this challenge. Papers and elements are from Kristin Aagard “Great Outdoors” kit.
For the word WHEN I used cass-2016 CalendarChallenge-07 Alpha and cass-StringTube … I tried an effect from Pinned Paper Tutorial.
I also used cass-Curved Photo and Lifted Photo Scripts and Corner Punched A Brushes.
October 28, 2017 at 4:28 am #15532Hello Cristina, A really nice page. Love the way you have displayed the photos and all the elements. isn’t it great we can still use all those other templates and have something different each time….. Hope you enjoy your day…….
Dawn.
October 29, 2017 at 11:53 am #15550Hi, Dawn. Thanks a lot for commenting on my page.
That is the good part of digital scrapbook, cards etc. We can use the templates over and over again. It is the same with the kits. I bought this one last year when it was marked down and it has so many papers and elements that the layouts can look totally different.
Have a nice day. 🙂
