Let’s make this a bit challenging. This time, I will provide you with a number, and you have to find a way to include that number of SIMILAR elements in your project. It could be X number of photos, X number of flowers, X number of buttons, etc.

This month, the challenge is 5-5-5. So you have to incorporate types of items, five times each. This could be a combination of 5 photos, 5 buttons and 5 staples, or it could be 5 tags, 5 flowers and 5 paint splashes. You get the picture!

Post your result, and tell us which elements you used 5 times (in case we don’t see them!). You can also share about the ideas you had, the struggles you faced, and the solutions you found. Everyone gets inspired by that shared information.

Are you up to the challenge?

Good morning, I would like you to meet two of my summer friends.  Gerry is quite the character, when I call, and place some  monkey nuts on a tray, he comes. He tolerates my presence as I sit and watch him dine, not to far away, it gives me the opportunity to get some nice close up shots of him.  The same goes for Ollie, he’s the only Oriole, that will come as soon as I have replenished the  oranges with fresh ones, again he to tolerates my presence, whilst I take close up shots of him.

I used 5 photos, 5 frames, and out of bounds technique 5 times.  It was an after thought, that I realized, that I used a technique, and not an element 5 times, so I created the beads, 2×5 of them.  The last time we had a numbers challenge, was several years ago. The challenge was to use 1 similar element 12 times in a page.

Of course the quality of the photos have  been degraded, due to the drastic resizing down.

Sue very nice and I like your close-ups of the birds very much. We however did have a number challenge in september last year!

Sue, I love, love this. Your layouts always have so many details, and I like to look at them closely to find out what you did this time! The photos may be degraded due to resizing, but they show the beauty of the birds.

I have a few bird feeders and a birdhouse on my balcony, and we love to see them coming and going. Now, the little ones come too, and we love to see them flapping their wings, beggings the parents to be fed.

For a while, even a squirrel came every day and managed to squeeze himself into a birdhouse to eat the sunflower seeds.

Pirkko, what a nice layout. Lovely photo of the duck with the little ones.

Sue, your photos are still a feast for my eyes and not only for mine :-).  It’s enviable that you seem to live so close to nature and are surrounded by so many species of birds and other animals. Fabulous opportunities… Gerry and Ollie look fantastic, thanks for sharing. I like the way you played with the beads.

Pirrko, so cute and lovely your layout with the duck family and a pretty idea to use a film strip :)!

Cristina, it’s an incredible pleasure for me too to see every day the birds and the squirrels on the balcony and in the little garden. I also observed that the squirrels love cracking the sunflower seeds. And a funny thing, every bird first drinks and then takes a bath in the water trough. Good to have this form of happiness! It makes me smile every day.

Hi, Libera, long time no see. 🙂

I agree it is a pleasure to see birds and squirrels. It is pretty common to see squirrels in the house’s gardens and climbing trees, but it was the first time I saw them eating on my balcony… I can imagine the fun you have, seeing the birds drinking water first and then taking a bath… Here, they only drink the water. 🙂

Sue, you have the bestest of friends.  And I bet they make for good nature therapy too.  One province over and such different species of birds.  I love hearing your stories about them, they are characters.  My little back yard is the feeding ground for the magpies and a crow pair (and all the little birds too).  The magpies toe the line when the crow is around, but they are cheeky and push the limits with the crow.  The crow doesn’t even leave the bird bath when I come home from work and walk past him, only 3 feet away.  The full size version must be stunning and filled with detail.

On my trip to the States I have seen all sorts of Rhododendrons in flower and of course I had to take their picture! So for this Number Challenge I  used 5 of those photos in their own mask (I’m still in mask mood),  5 frames with a gradient and inner bevel and 5 dragonflies. The background is made of 2 papers with the blendmode to color and an overlay to give it some texture. The font is Bodoni MT on some sort of a round mat. The dragonflies, called vintage dragonfly, come from one of the freebie collections that Creative Fabrica had some time ago.

After my trip and all the photo album making I’m happy to be able to do some scrapping again!

Corrie, a beautiful page, very well thought out.  You are right, we did have a numbers challenge Last Sept.  Time slips by so quickly these days.  Pirkko, your  duck page is adorable, there’s something very maternal and caring about watching ducklings keeping with their parents as they glide through the water.

Corrie, Cristina, Libera and last but by no means  least Susan, thank you all very much for your kind comments.  Libera, so wonderful to see you make an appearance, it’s been a while, and you have been missed.  Cristina, by dear friend, you always  say the  kindest of words, and  I hope you  don’t look to closely, as I’m sure there  must be some details, that  are not quite right.  🙂

Aren’t we a wonderful group, as we all enjoy  and appreciate the great outdoors, and everything that it has to offer.  Which goes hand in hand with the projects we  create using PSP.

As I would say in Welsh,  cwtches  i chi gyd (hugs to you all)

Thanks a lot Cristina and Sue for your kind words,

yes it’s been a longer while, too much work and a lack of energy coming home too late.
And yes, it’s really fantastic to see the group loving this wonderful nature.

By the way, two days ago one of the woodpeckers came again, inspected the squirrel house on the balcony and “stole” hazelnuts out of it :)!
