Sue, in the screenshots of the tutorial at the bottom, is it the “old” template or the “new” one? I wonder if the link was cached from the previous instance of the page? Also, you don’t need WinZip to unzip the file. You can use 7-zip or Winrar or any other unzipping program.
February 8, 2021 at 8:44 pm #52691Sue … you might want to try BreeZip. Found easily on the net. A totally free opener. https://www.breezip.com/ It will open just about anything. And FREE!
February 8, 2021 at 9:02 pm #52692Thank you I have it now.
February 8, 2021 at 9:18 pm #52693Beautiful Minka, gorgeous colours my friend, well done! 😀
February 8, 2021 at 9:23 pm #52695Baby Xavier was joined by Baby Amelia this past September. She is my mother’s 6th great-grandchild. After a challenging year, with more challenging months ahead, Amelia’s giggle lets me forget the ugly for a little while.

February 8, 2021 at 9:50 pm #52702A lovely page Gerry. Amelia looks a real sweetie and a baby’s smile is the best band-aid. Well done. 😉
February 8, 2021 at 9:58 pm #52704We used to have lovebirds in cages until I got the guilts about caged birds but I still think they are beautiful. Thanks for takin a peek my friends. ;D
February 8, 2021 at 11:04 pm #52705Carole,
I just used a different mask. Actually, I think it’s one of yours as I have it labeled as Cass-PhotoMask-Heart01. I did change the template so I could put photos into the little squares but decided against using them. I used your Custom Playing Card script for the cards.
Kind of went of script…hope you don’t mind!
February 8, 2021 at 11:06 pm #52706Annie – love your “Love Birds”
Gerry – your baby is beautiful and your page if fine
February 8, 2021 at 11:09 pm #52707Everyone has done such a great job.. Can’t wait to see what you all come up with.
February 9, 2021 at 2:03 am #52712Wow, so many pretty layouts! Lots of inspiration out there!
I also used just what came in the downloads.
February 9, 2021 at 5:00 am #52715Cassel said: Ann, if your background paper appeared on top of the photo, it might just be a layering issue in the Layers palette. Did you see where that paper ended up? Was it “stuck” inside the mask group? If so, you can just click it, and drag the layer below. But you will have other pages to practice!
Carole/Cassel: Here are screenshots of my design. One with the background paper over the photo and one showing where the background paper was located on my layers palette; at the very bottom! *scratching my head over this* And I also don’t understand how my work-around with the photo shows up as a “promoted selection” ??
February 9, 2021 at 5:26 am #52716Gerry: Outstanding layout and sweet baby! Plenty of babies to go around in this class! 😉
February 9, 2021 at 5:30 am #52717Annie and Susan: Wow, your designs are delightful! Love seems to bring out the best in us! 😉
February 9, 2021 at 8:18 am #52719Ann, although I am not 100% certain, I suspect that the mask you created for that bottom left photo was not completely black to start with, and it is showing as partially opaque, making the background paper show through. If that is the case, the white part of the mask will be slightly grey instead of being white. Check that.
February 9, 2021 at 8:37 am #52720Thank you Annie for your kind words. Your page is lovely. You have so many brightly coloured birds in your part of the world
Beautiful pages being submitted, I looking forward to seeing more.
February 9, 2021 at 9:34 am #52722Carole/Cassel: You were right! It is now all ok.. thank you!
February 9, 2021 at 9:54 am #52723Everyone is doing such an amazing job! And this is only Day 1… I am also looking forward to seeing more. : )

February 9, 2021 at 11:14 am #52726I love how those pages are all minimally decorated, and they really tell a story. For anyone thinking that creating a scrapbook page is always a long and tedious project, you can see that it does not have to be! Keep those going. I’ll be back later today.
February 9, 2021 at 1:17 pm #52731Here is my day 2. The mask was a photoshop mask. The photo is one of my own take a while ago as the moon was setting behind the trees. Appropriate word art. Corner swirl is a font. moon element found on the net. The stars is a brush done on a separate layer, using the BV palette. Text on a curve. These are my kind of layouts.
Many more wonderful pages posted since I popped in yesterday afternoon. Well done, hope you are all having fun.
February 9, 2021 at 1:28 pm #52732I agree Carole, minimalistic and simple is my kind of style as many will know. Being minimal all to often says far more, giving a greater impact on the main subject. They can tell so much by showing very little.
February 9, 2021 at 2:12 pm #52734Nice Job Lynda, Ann, Anne!
Yes, Carole, the same theme as you. I wanted to say it yesterday but everything was wrong. Is it your grandson on your pages? and is that he we saw in Sunday’s lesson? if so, he has beautiful eyes!
This is my day 2
February 9, 2021 at 2:30 pm #52736Here is my day 2 with the template Carole gave us the link to. The photos are from Ed Frampton of The Hudson Valley in Pictures.. he’s a wizard! The main font is Wide Latin and I made the matching plaid background following Carole’s directions. Three black vultures at different stages of life.. the young fledgling is quite striking!
