Downsizing color issue in PSP 2020

Hello Campus Friends. Is anybody else with PSP 2020 having an issue with color changes when downsizing from 3600 to 800 or less pixels? Each time I downsize the color leaches out and ends up a much lighter hue than the larger image. I have been able to overcome this by merging at 3600 pixels, opening a new document 600 pixels or 800 pixels, selecting all, copying the larger image and then pasting into the selection of the smaller page. Not such a huge issue but a bit annoying none the less.

I do wonder if this is simply an artifact of the fewer number of pixels available when you downsize and it might just not “average” the colors correctly. Have you noticed the exact same color shift  on every projects?

Hi Cassel. It is doing it with every downsize of pages of varying colours. Mostly it is the background paper even after merging! I am going to keep an eye on it so that I can better explain. Thanks for responding.
