Whether you have kids outside making snowmen or you just want to bake and make snowman cookies, what can you show us on this theme!? It is a common theme so you should have something easy to share.

piufff not often snow here 🙁 and when there is, uh very little, not enough to make a snowman …. so I use royalty-free photos to scrape when the need arises
A photo of our drive-in theater during the month of March one year when the snow just kept piling up. We usually open for the season in the middle of March, so this caused delays. I posted this photo on our website, warwickdrivein.com, so customers would know why we weren’t open as usual.
The decorations come from various Iceland kits which does compete in the snow department. And of course, the snowman is from the December Theme Challenge, except for his eyeballs, which are from a tube.
I come to Florida to get away from snow … but playing with snow online while it’s heavenly outside is entirely okay! I had fun playing with your bits and pieces, Carole, but I lopped off the head and resized it 75% to get a three part snowman. Kind of like GO BIG – or GO HOME! LOL Believe it or not … while we don’t have snow here I went out the other morning and there was actually a layer of ICE! on the top of my car. Apparently in the middle of the night it dipped pretty low here. Glad I slept through it!
I did an Advent layout for Day 4 with a Snowman. Thanks for the extra accessories. I’m enjoying playing with these.
Here is my snowman. The snowy bench photo is one I took several years ago. The only thing I added on that picture was the snowman that I had created from some snowballs that I created. Of course I used the free clip art to dress him. On the picture there was very little shadow so I adjusted the drop shadow setting for the S M but went with the more traditional setting for the rest of them because it was not on the original picture.

As I said on the page … snowmen make you smile. Such a happy theme, thanks Cassel. Snowman and Tree I created using AWS scripts … luv em! When I think about it, hats off to all who write scripts for PSP. I should imagine it would be very time consuming … and, it lightens our load or … makes us lazy, lol! Thanks for takin a peek my friends.
Annie Tobin: Charming snowman layout! I love the curvy tree, reminds me of a gnome. What are AWS scripts? I recently acquired 14 scripts from Corel that were on sale for $25 but they’re rather basic stuff – here’s a screenshot of the offer.
Ann, I don’t use Corel scripts simply because they don’t suit the projects I work with. I love Carole’s scripts which you can purchase from the Creation Cassel website. AWS scripts are Angel Wing Scraps scripts which you can purchase from the Scrap and Tubes Store. I love using scripts and I have a LOT from all over the place. But … I also love what Cassel teaches us here, to be our own creators. I am learning how to create scripts from the SuzShook script lessons available for purchase from here. I think it will take me a LITTLE while to get the hang of it, 😉 Below is one of AWS which I put together about 20 mins ago. Hope this is a little enlightening for you my friend. ;D
Here is another for the snowman theme challenge. I used Carole’s freebies to create the snowman and the ear muffs were made using the garland brush. The title font is Zilap Alien. I created a bokeh paper from the merged image to use for the font and then I followed Carole’s tut for Block Shape to given it some dimension … love that tutorial. I didn’t use a drop shadow on the title because it stood out better without, guess that is the way of it sometimes. Thanks for takin a peek! ;D
Annie: I snagged the Corel scripts on sale. They worked out to about #1.70 each. I had to restock as mine has disappeared when I got a new computer. I do have several of Carole’s scripts, they made the transition safely, it was the default ones that didn’t.
I LOVE that Santa in the sleigh and I would love to know how to create something like that! Good job! Now if there was only a script for making gnomes…. 😀
Annie: I purchased the script bundle that included the AWS-Here Comes Santa but I can’t get any of them to work. It sets up a base canvas but then stalls and says it can’t read the script. I have them in Restricted Scripts. Any ideas?
Ann, I am not sure why they would not work. But, here is what I do with mine;-
Download the zip file to the scripts restricted folder in PSP.
Then create a folder for AWS scripts if you don’t already have one (this is handy if you purchase more AWS scripts).
Move the zip file into the AWS folder and unzip.
Read the instructions (I usually save the instruction file in another folder that I have created for future reference).
Place all the selections into the PSP Selections folder.
Place all the picture tubes into the PSP Picture Tube folder.
If there are patterns or templates do the same thing and place in their respective PSP folders.
Leave all the PSP scripts where they are … in this case I think there will be 6 of them as listed below.
As I save the zip file into a folder for all PSP related zip file downloads I delete the extraneous (blinkie, etcetera) which have opened when unzipping … your choice.
Your scripts should now be good to go.
In your drop down list the items will show up individually:- AWS_ChristmasCardFrame1, AWS_ChristmasCardFrame2, AWS_ChristmasSnowman, AWS_ChristmasTree2, AWS_HereComesSanta, and AWS_HomeForChristmas.
A screenshot below will show how I tend to save my PSP and Scripts Restricted files.
I also have a preview folder … for me it is easier to browse through … every picture tells a story!
If you have done all of the above then there is no reason (that I can think of) why the scripts should not work.
I hope this helps Ann … if not then we shall pass it on to Cassel … I am a PSP knowledge rookie compared to Carole, ;DAnnie: Thank you so much for taking the time to write out all those instructions! I exchanged emails with Jill from AWS and we finally got it worked out. I didn’t know the files would contain things other than scripts! When I finally got the correct files into Picture Tubes and Selections then everything worked!
Here’s one I ran, using the default colors. I added a wintery photo as the background.. I expected to see Hansel & Gretel show up! So, thanks again!
Ann I am so pleased that it worked out for you in the end. It is such a cute Home for Christmas and now you can play around with colour changes etcetera which is loads of fun if at times a little frustrating especially if you change the source colour instead of the target colour … you will see what I mean, LOL! Remember, keep your eye on the target and, click on it to change the colour. I promise you, you will have loads of fun.
