Here is my July 2023 calendar page.
Heidelberg Castle is a ruin in Germany and landmark of Heidelberg. The castle ruins are among the most important Renaissance structures north of the Alps. The castle has only been partially rebuilt since its demolition in the 17th and 18th centuries.
I used a gradient for the background and added the texture asphalt. The font is Samantha Upright with glyphs for J and y, plus the flower glyph that I added to the y, which is also Samantha upright.
I am busy at work, but I am trying to finish the calendar, so I can soon participate in other fun Campus projects.
October 7, 2022 at 1:27 pm #84206Anita, Like it! I really never knew Germany has so many castles!
October 7, 2022 at 4:35 pm #84222Anita I like your castles, beautiful photos! And like you I’m not finished yet.
October 7, 2022 at 4:57 pm #84224Thank you Monique, I am glad you are enjoying my castle theme for the calendar. We do have a lot of castles and most of them have very interesting tales.
October 7, 2022 at 5:10 pm #84226Here is my August Calendar.
The Nymphenburg Palace is a Baroque palace situated in Munich’s western district Neuhausen-Nymphenburg, in Bavaria, southern Germany. Combined with the adjacent Nymphenburg Palace Park it constitutes one of the premier royal palaces of Europe. Its frontal width of 632 meters even surpasses Versailles Palace.
I used the picture of the castle as a background as some of you have also done, and I liked the effect. Then I used layer blend mode Screen, and reduced opacity to 51%. The Font is Glamour for the month and no glyphs were needed. The text on bottom left is Baby Valentine – no glyphs needed. Changed colors for dates and lines to same color as font for August, except for weekends and text on bottom left where I used a different color. Picked all colors from the picture.

October 7, 2022 at 5:38 pm #84227Thank you Corrie, I love all your layouts too. The beautiful fonts you use go so well with each image.
October 7, 2022 at 6:00 pm #84230I started on making another calendar in portrait format and I am going to use the masks and elements from this years Workshop. For the boxes I used Carole’s Custom Calendar Script. And it will be mostly in German because the recipients are Swiss. The original Workshop Calendar is almost ready I only need to do the cover, but as the German one has to be in the mail somewhat earlier I do this one first.
October 8, 2022 at 10:08 am #84046MoniqueN Did not connect you with your surname in the dutch group 🙂
I like your calendar of outlander very much. Very good work. Love fantasy myself. Have also the first 3 books from Dina Gabaldon. Buth when the fourth came, I found it too much, makes the story too long. I prefer moore the books from Raymond Feist and Terry Pratchett.
And you changed it to our dutch weeks starting with Sunday. In the up-to-date-challenge I was thinkig about that, but found it a bit too much work then.
Ann Seeber Two dates in one box is not so difficult to do. First you type for instance (April from MoniqueN) the 23. Hit another tool (Pick tool) Then back to the Text tool type 30. Go to the pick tool, select the 30 and you can place it where ever you want it.
October 10, 2022 at 1:03 am #84289Here is my September Calendar page showcasing Castle Hohenzollern.
Hohenzollern Castle is the ancestral seat of the imperial House of Hohenzollern. The third of three hilltop castles built on the site, it is located atop Mount Hohenzollern, above and south of Hechingen, on the edge of the Swabian Jura of central Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
I used a background from Digital Scrapbooking – Gina Jones and reduced opacity to 79. The font for September is Samantha Upright and I used some kerning, so the glyph S (Samantha upright) was closer to the letter e.
The font for Castle Hohenzollern Germany is Gloucester MT Extra from Windows 10. Used drop shadows on both fonts. Added a cluster from Digital Scrapbooking – Jessica Dunn and added drop shadow. Colored dates, lines wiith same color as text and used different color on weekends. 3 more months to go plus the cover page. I will get this calendar done and I am having fund with it.

October 10, 2022 at 10:08 am #84297Anita, another lovely page, like the colours very much!
October 13, 2022 at 3:45 am #84452Thank you Monique!
October 13, 2022 at 4:01 am #84455Here is my Calendar page for October.
Castle Frankenstein in Mühltal, Germany, the birthplace of an eccentric alchemist and possible inspiration for the fictional re- animator of monsters. The Castle Frankenstein is now in ruins, with only two towers, a restaurant with a vegan and kid-friendly menu, and a chapel remaining. However, the perhaps mythical connection to Mary Shelley’s novel “Frankenstein” keeps it a popular destination, especially for Halloween. In late October and early November, the Castle Frankenstein Halloween party gathers zombies, witches, werewolves, vampires, and regular visitors for scary dinners and creepy shows.
I adjusted brightness and contrast a bit on the castle picture, then I found a sunset background at Creative Fabrica, added Gausian Blur, and layer blend mode Dissolve, and reduced opacity to 40. Fonts are from Creative Fabrica , Spiderweb and Santika Font. I also used Old English Font on Windows 10.
October 13, 2022 at 10:10 am #84459Anita, I love your castles. So lucky to live somewhere that there is castles. This castle looks the part for Halloween, it’s oddly creepy, but so fascinating to look at. Your backgrounds are really interesting, thanks for explaining how you did them.
October 19, 2022 at 4:58 pm #84782I have almost finished my 2 calendars and here are the covers for both of them. This year was extra special because I made one with a specific recipient in mind. The theme was for both of us a visit to our family, my daughter and her husband their son. So we both visited some of the landmarks of the state of Washington and I could display those places in this calendar. The other one I keep as a memento (beside the photo albun I had printed) and goes on my own wall.
I will post the completed calendars in the gallery as soon as I’m done. Like all of you I have loved this workshop although it took me much longer than usual to do.
October 19, 2022 at 5:45 pm #84785Corrie: Your calendar covers are beautiful! You are an expert photographer with flowers, for sure! That background photo is also very effective. Great job!
October 20, 2022 at 4:33 pm #84821Ann thank you so much!
October 22, 2022 at 8:25 pm #84935Here is my Calendar page for November. November showcases the Drachenburg Castle. I am trying hard to catch up, just Dec. and cover page to do.
Schloss Drachenburg, (Dragon Castle) built between 1882 and 1884, is one of the most important castle buildings of the late 19th century in Germany. The combination of nature and culture, of scenic romance and unique history has been attracting many thousands of visitors a year from all over the world since the beginning of the 20th century. They all experience the extraordinary castle architecture, roam through the historically significant landscape park and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Rhine and the Siebengebirge (Seven Mountains) area.
I picked a color from the picture for the background and added the texture Blue Spruce. The font is Hesthia Austine from Creative Fabrica.

October 23, 2022 at 4:17 pm #84997I finally got there! The covers I have already posted and I posted a calendar (in German and in portrait format) in the gallery. So I thought I post this one on the original templates here in this thread. Both of them are using the same fonts and most have the same photos but on my own (this one) I used some photos from places that I’m not sure the recipients of the other calendar are familiar with.
October 23, 2022 at 5:45 pm #84998Corrie: They are beautiful! All your hard work has paid off handsomely! I’m sure everyone will love to get them!!
October 23, 2022 at 6:22 pm #85002Wow! Corrie, that is a stunner. I love the consistency of the backgrounds and the font.
October 23, 2022 at 11:11 pm #85013Her is my Calender Page for December with Castle Cochem all decorated fir Christmas.
Cochem is a picturesque town in the Moselle valley known for beautiful day hikes, excellent wine and cultural sights. The riverside town is overlooked by the charming castle of the same name which, in the weeks leading up to Christmas, opens its gates for a guided nativity play with actors in authentic costumes and live animals. At the end of each tour, you can stop at the small Christmas market in the courtyard. For more festive flair, head to the market square in the old town centers and end the day with a wine tasting and fresh waffles.
For the background I used a paper from Digital Scrapbooking and used a blend mode of Lighten, then used opacity of 82. The font is called Christmas from Creative Fabrica. The Holly is from Digital Scrapbooking.
October 24, 2022 at 3:25 am #85018Ann and Susan thank you very much! The only thing left now is printing. As soon as I’m able to walk a little bit longer I will go to buy the paper I want to use. Of course I can ask my husband to get it for me, but he has so much to do these days to help in the house and do the shopping, drive me to rehab etc. I don’t know how it is in other countries, but we have many problems with goods that aren’t available at the moment, so I think it is difficult for him if the shop doesn’t have the paper I want. In that case I have to look for myself what else there is and besides that I’m a bit fed up sitting at home.
Anita you have done the beautiful castles proud! I loved seeing them because it broad back memories of vacations we have had in the past, We have visited a couple of them. You have made a lovely calendar and I like the consistent look of it. I personally always like a theme for my projects.
October 24, 2022 at 8:59 am #85023Oh wow! They are very, very nice! (Calender Corrie) Was the cover also a template (didn’t make a cover, so I don’t know)
October 24, 2022 at 9:00 am #85024Corrie, kan je niet bestellen of weet je niet precies wat voor papier je wil hebben?
October 24, 2022 at 11:07 am #85025Corrie, Anita, great calendars!
October 25, 2022 at 4:31 am #85061Monique thank you so much and yes the cover is the template that belongs to this workshop, although I changed it somewhat. That’s what I often do with templates to have them more the way I want them to look with my photos.
Of course I can order printingpaper online, but last year that didn’t work very well. The paper that I wanted wasn’t available and the alternatives were not suitable for my printer. The paper that I could get was either to thin for a calendar that has to be hanged on the wall or it was to thick for my printer. Besides that I had made a birthday calendar as well so I needed paper on which it is possible to write. Luckely I could cancel the order and in the end there were shops opening where you could come and collect at the door (we were in lockdown at that time). Nowadays no lockdown but still a lot of things that isn’t available or cann’t be delivered. I think that I’ll be able to go a bit further a field next week – with my husband who has to drive me and come with me, because outside the house I still have to use those crutches – and see what I can get; there still is time to do so.
October 25, 2022 at 4:32 am #85062Marie-Claire dank je!
October 26, 2022 at 6:27 pm #85129Thank you Corrie, ! I am almost finished, just have to do the cover page. This has been a fun workshop.
October 26, 2022 at 6:31 pm #85130Thank you Marie-Claire!
October 26, 2022 at 8:54 pm #85133I was up burning the mid night oil last night. Once I got started I couldn’t stop. I didn’t use last year’s templates from the up to date challenge, which meant I can use them for at least two of this year’s calendars. Also this year’s templates. I like to get my calendars done early, as they have to go International. This year’s challenge was much earlier, but as you know I was home at the time, with my old laptop, which didn’t have a fraction of my recourses or previous year’s photos. Anyway here is a screen shot of last night’s labour. I still have to do a few minor adjustments and add birthdays etc before printing.
