Hello Everyone, haven’t been around the last couple months as I have had more health issues which was a bit unsettling as they were checking for cancer and I was not motivated to do anything much on computer. Thankfully biopsy found no cancer. Thought I would come and give the Calendar workshop a go .
Dawn.

September 19, 2022 at 10:13 pm #83173Shirl, did you not get the email earlier today? The link would be in the email.

September 20, 2022 at 12:24 am #83180I have sorted through some pictures that I may use for this calendar. downloaded the templates and will start watching the video tutorial tomorrow. The Templates look really nice. and will be fun to do. Thank you Carole!
September 20, 2022 at 12:26 am #83181I’m still rummaging through photos and seeing if a theme comes to mind, and if I have enough for that theme. Might be Wednesday before I get a WIP (work-in-progres) project up. Mondays and Tuesdays are long days at work. Not much left in the tank sometimes afterward. But enough energy to see what’s happening in the forums.
Nice to see one up already. yay, Sue!
September 20, 2022 at 4:19 am #83186Pirkko: Carole says we can post as we go along, even unfinished. Here’s her suggestions –
“Since your pages won’t be completed until the end of the workshop, you have different options:
you can post one page you are working on, every day, as it is progressing
you can wait until the very end to post your pages
you can simply comment on what you are doing on that day, but keep the surprise until the end
The tutorials will cover something you can do, every day, on the same page, so don’t expect any page to be completed after one or two days (unless you skip the tutorials completely!)Whatever you choose, let’s make sure you don’t stay silent for 7 days!”
Personally, I’d love to see all 12 templates so I could do each lesson as I go along for 7 days. So far, I’ve placed photos in the first two and am waiting for ideas about the background, etc.

September 20, 2022 at 5:46 am #83191Dawn, I am so happy to know your worries are gone! <3
Corrie, I think you are going to have surgery this week. I am sending my best wishes and a speedy recovery.
September 20, 2022 at 6:32 am #83195Here is what I have so far… I like the new templates very much; I now have to look for photos that fit them as the ones I used were not.
Photos will be from Pixabay, Pexels and Unsplash

September 20, 2022 at 6:58 am #83200As I previously stated, I’m limited to some old photos and recourses, including fonts on this laptop. Hence I will be submitting only these two pages on a daily basis.
September 20, 2022 at 7:37 am #83202Hi, Sue!
The photos are lovely, as usual.
I hope you are having a great time at home.
September 20, 2022 at 3:28 pm #83218I think I agree with you Ann, all 12 templates at once would be nice, but on the other hand, for newbies maybe it’s a bit overwhelming. But it could also help to add photo’s in the templates 12 times, so you remember how to do it better?
I didn’t like the two first templates much, it looks like it maybe isn’t suitable for the kind of calenders I would like to make. Will have a look at the next two templates now, so maybe I wll change my opinion after seeing those. 🙂
But still having fun making them ! 🙂

September 20, 2022 at 3:37 pm #83220Monique, the calendars will all be in that same “style”. I decided to change it a little after doing the same style for several years to show how something can be different. Of course, if you have done calendars before, you can change the way the dates are in this one with what was included in previous templates (or even make your own).
And yes, giving two templates per day is on purpose. Making it slowly is easier for beginners.
September 20, 2022 at 4:20 pm #83221Monique you can always change the order in which the templates are coming. The first one doesn’t have to be January!
Cristina thank you and yes it is comint thursday, so I don’t know how quickly I’m back at the computer. Maybe I’ll show something later today.
September 20, 2022 at 4:54 pm #83223Corrie, I know 🙂 I think I’m going to change the lines in to boxes 🙂
Ook hier nog heel veel succes en beterschap gewenst met je operatie 🙂
September 20, 2022 at 5:52 pm #83229Well, I knew I’d be making changes as I go along. So here are Jan & Feb with backgrounds, pretty much finished except for maybe some journaling somewhere. And here also are March & April with photos and text but no backgrounds yet. All are works in progress. One thing I tried with February was to apply a texture to the background.

September 20, 2022 at 5:55 pm #83230To give an impression of what my calendar is going to be like. In the introduction I said that it will be about my trip to the States and one copy will go to the parents in law of my daughter who have visited there too this year. I happen to have a font called USA Nation and I think it will be very fitting here. It’s a layered font so the blogpost on that topic comes in handy. When I have a background it will look better then on this gray. But for now that’s all, the coming days will be filled with other things. I do hope I will be back soon and in the mean time I’m going to follow what is going on here with all the creations for this calendar. As Carol would say: Have Fun.
September 20, 2022 at 6:58 pm #83240Here is the start of my January and February pages. I am going with a flower theme.
September 20, 2022 at 10:09 pm #83253Ok I am totally confused the email talks about changing the background looking at the video to see how we can add texture but the video is about changing the month
Anyhow using what I know to change the background here is one of the pages I am working on
September 20, 2022 at 11:13 pm #83258I decided to do a travel calendar. I’m sure there will be changes but here are my first efforts.
September 20, 2022 at 11:27 pm #83259Welcome to everyone who has at least posted something in this thread:
Susan, Ann, Anne, Marie-Claire, Rene, Corrie, Cindy, Gramie, Bonnie, Pirkko, Cristina, Euka, Lynda, Anita, Monique, Linda, Lynn, James, Michele, Fiona, Sue, AprilDawn, Harmony
and a newcomer, Shirl.
Sue (#83155), this is a great start. I know you will make some changes as the workshop progresses. Will we still see more wildlife? (#83200) Since you will have all the templates at the end, you will be able to create more and different calendars if you want!
Pirkko (#83169), it is ok to post unfinished projects if you want. It is up to you. Some people love to share as they go, some prefer to show the end result. (#83190), are those your own photos? They look fun!
Cindy (#83174), I know you will give your 100%, as you always do!
Anita (#83180), any idea of the theme for your calendar?
Susan (#83181), we’ll be happy to see your projects when you come back.
Ann (#83186), what will be the theme? Where do you bring up for a visit? (#83229) Yes, work in progress is what we can expect. And changing your mind too!
Cristina (#83195), those images are so cute and they will make for a fun calendar. Glad you like the new format. It is different than previous years.
Corrie (#83230), it is great that this calendar will have a special meaning to the recipients!
Anne (#83240), flowers are always a great theme for a calendar so we feel like summer is all year-round!
Harmony (#83253), you are correct. I made a mistake. I used the “email template” from last year, and then, the second lesson was about the background. Don’t worry. Even if it is not today, it will be tomorrow!
Lynda (#83258), are those all places you visited?

September 21, 2022 at 12:16 am #83263Cindy, it might be because of your photo. Check under Image > Increase color depth
September 21, 2022 at 12:53 am #83266Holy Wow Everyone! Fabulous work. Here’s a start on my January and February. I kept wanting to sharpen the images more, but I’m trying to do an ethereal dreamy flower calendar. I had to go back and un-sharpen them. I usually like really crisp sharp photos. And I’m trying to work out of my comfort zone to promote some artistic growth. You will see these flowers in different set ups most likely. The font might change too. I have no idea what I’ll do for a background at this point.
Good Luck Corrie! Hope all goes smoothly with your surgery. Sending healing thoughts your way.

September 21, 2022 at 12:58 am #83268Ann, you nailed the background for February.
September 21, 2022 at 1:05 am #83270Here is my Calendar so far for January. My theme for this calendar will be Castles and Fortresses in Germany. I used a background from Digital Scrapbooking and the Samantha Upright font. Found out that the drop shadow works a bit differently in PSP 2023. When placing the shadow on a new layer it shows that it is linked.
September 21, 2022 at 3:47 am #83271Thank you Carole, I will be using a varied selection of wildlife photos when I get back. A few years back I created an insect macro calendar using a similar layout to this one, without masks. It was based on the webinar you did for Corel. The photos were very large which meant they filled the whole page. Perfect for what I wanted.
It’s going to be interesting to see how the pages progress, from start to finish. With no doubt some completely changing direction.
