First of all, come and say HI once you register for this workshop.
We want to know who else will be there, on our side to encourage us.
Every page we will make will be different, based on each others’ photos, stories, and preferences but we can all get inspired by everyone’s projects.
The workshop will start on September 19th.
You might want to chitchat during the workshop, but you will want to wait until the end, once all the lessons are done since you will keep working through them all during the seven days.
Now, let’s get ready!
(if you missed the registration link or if you found this thread before I announce it, HERE it is)
September 8, 2022 at 10:26 pm #82482Registered and ready!
September 9, 2022 at 7:10 am #82498I’m registered. Last year I did a Downton Abbey calendar for my granddaughter, Anna, for Christmas. I found there were lots of photos available for that popular show so I might find another for this year. Wait and see!
September 9, 2022 at 10:21 am #82508I did the one last year and enjoyed it. I learned how to do a lot of things I would never even have thought of. Looking forward to this one.
September 9, 2022 at 10:24 am #82509Registered ! ?
September 9, 2022 at 10:31 am #82510Can the challenges just be for regular layouts instead? I don’t use a hanging calendar nor do I use calendars with photos so that part does not interest me.
September 9, 2022 at 10:36 am #82511Rene, you can use the techniques in many other types of projects, but the templates are all about calendars. You can use them to print, to give as presents, to use as desktop images but the workshop really revolves around that. But if you are creative, it could become a project to post in the “What are you working on?” thread (so as to not confuse newcomers looking for calendars).
September 9, 2022 at 11:01 am #82513The last 2 years I made calendars following the Up-to-Date Challenge as it was called and last year I did 3 different ones which made great gifts. When I look at the preview this calendar will be quite different from those and I intend to make one with photos from my America trip. The parents-in-law of my daughter have also made their first visit there, so one copy is coming their way. I will not be able to follow all the tutorials that week because my operation is on the 22nd, but at least I’ll have something in stock to keep me occupied when I’m not able to do much. I’m looking forward to this and seeing all the different calendars.
September 9, 2022 at 11:06 am #82514Yes, Corrie, the templates will be quite different this time around.
And as a DIAMOND member, you will keep access to the tutorials after the workshop, so you will have plenty of time to catch up.
September 9, 2022 at 12:30 pm #82527Thanks Carole. I’m going to pass on joining the challenge. Nobody I know uses paper calendars these days so even doing it for someone else is useless. LOL
Will it be available for all Diamond members when it is done so I could look at it later if I want?
September 9, 2022 at 12:36 pm #82530Yes, it will be added to the other Workshops inside the membership.
September 9, 2022 at 12:41 pm #82531Trying hard to find them 🙂 Still working on this
September 9, 2022 at 10:16 pm #82585I’m excited to create a 2023 calendar instead of paying Shutterfly for one! I will be traveling to see relatives so I hope the tools and videos will be available in case I can’t do it while away.
September 11, 2022 at 8:41 am #82706I registered but haven’t received my email confirmation yet.
September 11, 2022 at 9:09 am #82707Bonnie, you are registered, and it is said that the confirmation email was sent already. Did you check your spam?

September 11, 2022 at 11:14 am #82712I am registered too, and looking forward to seeing the new templates!
September 13, 2022 at 11:01 am #82805I have registered and looking forward to the new templates – my family looks forward to their calendar each year.
September 13, 2022 at 3:35 pm #82830Looking forward to this workshop. I do use paper calendars and leave the electronic one up to my husband. I also like to share my photography with my kids , grandkids and cousins. So Far I’ve gotten the heads up from all of them.
September 15, 2022 at 9:21 pm #82934I have registered and look forward to start on a new calendar. I really enjoyed the calendar workshop last year. Thank you Carole. It will be fun to see what everyone will be doing. I have not decided yet what my theme will be.
September 16, 2022 at 10:48 am #82956So looking forward to this workshop (again), I even checked last years dates on my computer a few weeks ago to check when we had the workshop last year. It was later in the year (november) then it’s now, isn’t it?
Well, anyway, I’m in.
It will be an Outlander calender again and one for my son and daughter in law, the first year of my granddaughter in months/pictures, to see how she grew this first year of her life (and the first year for me to have a grandchild)
Corrie, succes en alvast beterschap gewenst met je operatie!
September 18, 2022 at 7:54 pm #83131I’m registered, maybe not ready tho!
September 19, 2022 at 12:28 am #83132I’m registered and can only hope. I am still a full-time caregiver for someone in a declining state.
September 19, 2022 at 4:35 am #83149Looking forward to the workshop, but still have to select my photos,
September 19, 2022 at 4:37 am #83150Ready, willing, and able.
September 19, 2022 at 6:54 am #83153Hi, I have registered but am thinking it may be difficult to keep up during one week but will have a go.
I usually create an annual calendar for personal gifting to friends and family using my own photographs. Each month I try to match a photo of mine to a mindful quote. If I see a quote I like or someone gives me one, I write them down and collect them. So my calendar pages have the dates, 1 large photo and a caption for the quote.
Looking forward to having a go. Thank you again Carole.
September 19, 2022 at 11:32 am #83155It’s a damp day here, so I thought I would make a start on the 2023 calendar workshop. The fonts used will change, as I don’t have any of my downloaded fonts on this laptop. The photos were already on the laptop, dating back to 2018. I used a plain snow scene photo for the background.
September 19, 2022 at 12:01 pm #83156Sue Thomas: That snow scene works well with that mask! I’m still not sure what I’m doing for a background. So far, I’m using photos from my daughters’ recent trip to Washington, DC.
September 19, 2022 at 4:21 pm #83162Since your pages won’t be completed until the end of the workshop, you have different options:
- you can post one page you are working on, every day, as it is progressing
- you can wait until the very end to post your pages
- you can simply comment on what you are doing on that day, but keep the surprise until the end
The tutorials will cover something you can do, every day, on the same page, so don’t expect any page to be completed after one or two days (unless you skip the tutorials completely!)
Whatever you choose, let’s make sure you don’t stay silent for 7 days!
September 19, 2022 at 5:29 pm #83163Carole, I decided to make a start, the page I posted is far from complete. All I wanted to do is add the photos, and text I wanted to use. I will post the same page daily. I don’t have any of this year’s photos on the laptop I’m using.
