First of all, come and say HI once you register for this bootcamp.
We want to know who else will be there, on our side to cheer everyone up.
Everyone started as a beginner, so don’t ever compare yourself to others. You will learn one tool at the time, one concept at the time and you will create one project at the time. Everyone will have different photos and possibly different supplies so every project will be different.
Once the Bootcamp is started, on January 17th, 2022, you can post your projects in here.
Remember to resize your images to about 600 pixels AND saving in jpg format, before uploading it so it won’t slow down the site when we have lots of your masterpieces. Try to follow the tutorials at least enough that we can recognize what lesson you completed.
Now, let’s get ready !
If you missed the registration link or if you found this thread before I announce it (some people are very observant), HERE it is. Share it around if you want.
Although this Bootcamp is mostly meant to help beginners, we won’t exclude anyone for “excess experience”. Some participants are back for a second round. You are always welcome. Remember that it will be the exact same tutorials so don’t be surprised. I am sure you will now do something slightly different than the previous time.
Since anyone can follow the whole Bootcamp using the trial version of PaintShop Pro, this is a perfect opportunity for anyone to give it a try and see how they like the program, so share with your friends who MIGHT consider using PaintShop Pro.
The 7 tutorials will be spaced out over almost 2 weeks. This should make it easier for participants to follow without feeling stressed (it should never be stressful!).

I am coming 🙂
January 16, 2022 at 3:59 pm #69923Hi Pirkko Hi Everyone I am fighting covid its horrible.
January 16, 2022 at 4:31 pm #69927I will be here will bells on. I was browsing photos for the class and not too sure what I’m going to do subject wise. I liked the colors and simplicity in the shot, it might be a contender. My theme might be “no-theme”.
January 16, 2022 at 4:39 pm #69929Hi
Im Liz and im loking forward to starting bootcamp no real theme yet
January 16, 2022 at 4:55 pm #69930Oh, Cindy. praying for you.
I’m in and looking at what pictures to show.
January 16, 2022 at 5:26 pm #69931I have had Paintshop Pro for quite a few years – currently have X9, 2018 and 2021 on my computer (and did have prior to X9, but cannot remember version(s) – but I have not used it a lot. I am looking forward to working with this project – learning some new things. I do find that sometimes I “learn” how to do something but then go onto the next thing. So I will want to try and retry to add these to things I can use every day. Thank you so much for providing this resource and the other things you do.
January 16, 2022 at 6:00 pm #69932Hello! I am excited to start this Bootcamp. I have been using PSP for several years to edit wildlife photos, but I have never expanded my knowledge or skill beyond editing. I am excited!
January 16, 2022 at 6:07 pm #69934Hello! I’m gonna do this again, and plan to finish all the pages this time. Often life just gets in the way! My husband had back surgery in Dec, and is not permitted to do much yet, so I have more to do now. A snowstorm is just beginning here, I will begin plowing soon. Not sure what photos I will be using
My husband and I both had covid in August. My husband had a more difficult time than I did. He got monoclonial antibodies. Cindy, drink water! Take your vitamins! Rest and sleep as much as you need! Praying you will have a speedy recovery.
I found this nut in the driveway…just thought it was unique!
January 16, 2022 at 6:14 pm #69935Cindy…do take care of yourself and allow your body to heal by not trying to do too much if you don’t feel like it. Great advice, Linda!
January 16, 2022 at 6:54 pm #69936I am considering the theme of backyard birds and butterflies. I have plenty of pictures from last summer.

oh Cindy, get well soon
January 17, 2022 at 12:06 am #69938Pirkko, you will have fun in the Bootcamp and I am sure we’ll have fun seeing your projects.
Cindy, I hope you take care of yourself.
Susan, “no-theme” is quite alright too! There is no requirement to have a theme.
Liz, welcome to the Campus. Looking forward to your projects.
Mary, I am sure you will showcase some great photos!
R Keizer (is there a first name I can call you by?), you will see how much more you will be able to do with PSP!
Diana, you will discover some great ways to showcase those photos. You will surely connect with Sue who is also taking and showcasing wildlife photos!
Linda, that is an “interesting” photo. My first thought was a pig snout! (maybe I should check my glasses?)
To the newcomers, you will notice that I will be in the forum every day, looking and commenting on your posts. If you have any issues or questions, don’t hesitate to post them. I read every single post.
January 17, 2022 at 8:00 am #69940Sorry to hear that COVID is still wreaking havoc. It’s a stark reminder that we aren’t done with it. Cindy, best wishes for a quick and full recovery.
I wanted to join Bootcamp to rediscover things that I may have forgotten or that I missed the first time.
January 17, 2022 at 8:52 am #69942hi I am a real newbie so sorry if this is a silly question — what size is best for the photographs we are going to work on lease
Liz
January 17, 2022 at 9:12 am #69945Hi, I’m here for my umpteenth go-round in this class. Here’s a Buddha Doodle for Cindy. Get better!
January 17, 2022 at 9:37 am #69946Liz, that is a good question and I THOUGHT it was mentioned in the emails, but it is a great reminder to have here too. The traditional pages for digital scrapbooking are typically 3600×3600 pixels. In these projects, it would be best to have your photos at least 1000×1000 pixels. If they are larger, no problem, you will be able to size them down. If they are smaller, it might yield a blurred result. If you are using photos coming directly from a camera or a phone, they would already be big enough. It is mostly if you had scanned versions of old photos that you MIGHT have smaller images.
January 17, 2022 at 10:08 am #69948Hello everyone,
Wishing Cindy a speedy recovery.
I’m also participating, because even though I’ve learned a lot here on Campus, I’m still learning something new, and this bootcamp will certainly refresh my memory, and make me rediscover things.
And of course for my first photo I choose a photo of my dog. my best friend. My workspace : Complete, color Dark grey
Background : Medium grey
Material Palette : as proposed in PSP 2022 an docked
Layers palette : docked
In the menu View, I put de Rulers and Guidlines :on
I don’t use the organizerJanuary 17, 2022 at 12:21 pm #69955Hi, Gramie791 here! This is my second bootcamp and I am really looking forward to it. I am using PSP 2022.
I really want to work on old photos. So this one I had scanned into my laptop, resized it and then did the 1 step photo fix and the sharpen.
January 17, 2022 at 12:29 pm #69957I have decided to use a photo of my daughter’s new Red-eared Turtle. Her name is Shelly.
January 17, 2022 at 12:30 pm #69959Hello everyone, I havent been feeling very creative for a while now and thought joining bootcamp would maybe give a boost that I need.
I have my workspace is the darkest colors I can go on every thing. I have my layers, material and scripts pallettes are all docked.
This is the pic I will work with on my first page.
January 17, 2022 at 12:57 pm #69961Hi i have kept the materials pallette and the layers pallette and the learning centre — i have also change my colours to light gray . I have founf 5 photos to work on so far this is my funniest

here is my first homework for bootcamp-January 2022
and the image I use to Bootcamp this time
January 17, 2022 at 2:49 pm #69971afternoon everyone I’m like you i prefer the light grey border and the white work space.. just seems to be easier
to see. I’m not sure yet as to what photos I am going to use for this session.
January 17, 2022 at 3:22 pm #69976I’m gonna be using PSP 2019 for this bootcamp. I like the med gray workspace and background. I did fiddle with the size of the icons, because my eyes are old! I like the Materials and Layers Pallet open.
A photo from this morning, fresh snow.
January 17, 2022 at 3:24 pm #69978This is the 4th bootcamp!?! I’ve participated in. Always something to refresh the knowledge base. Haven’t changed my workspace since the 1st or 2nd bootcamp:
Workspace: complete and light grey, background: medium grey.
Palettes: Material palette, layers palette, tool option palette – all docked. Rulers and guidelines are on and snap to guides is checked.
Pictures I have decided on are mostly landscapes and flowers that I have taken pictures of or have been taken by some of my relatives in South Dakota – but some are mine of SD. I’ll post one of them.
January 17, 2022 at 6:09 pm #69983Hi,
Thought I’d give the Bootcamp a go. Have previously used PSP 2018, but have recently upgraded to 2022. Still regard myself as a bit of a novice with it, but always willing to learn new things to do with PSP. I prefer the workspace to be dark grey and the palettes docked.
Cindy – take care in your recovery, don’t push yourself and give yourself plenty of time to get over it. The fatigue can take a long while to pass. Wishing you well.
My picture that I’ll start BootCamp with is this…. 600×348
I took the pic of tonight’s Full Moon, the Wolf Moon and edited it using PSP 2022.
January 17, 2022 at 9:05 pm #69985I prefer the dark gray workspace — for my eyes, it is the best.
I use Instant Effects, mostly for the Kaleidoscope tool so keep that visible along with the Materials and Layers. I don’t use organizer. I did decide to decrease the width of the instant effects and materials and layers.
I would prefer to have the Instant Effects, Materials, and Layers side by side by cannot get Materials to dock anywhere other than above Layers.
Here is a photo that is a possibility for this.
January 17, 2022 at 10:24 pm #69987January 17, 2022 at 10:40 pm #69988Hello everyone. I like a dark grey space with a medium grey background. I use the complete workspace and set it to open to that space as a default. I closed the organizer and learning centre and I like my materials palette docked. I have several themes in mind so it might be a mish-mash of themes for this bootcamp. I wish everyone well and speedy recoveries. I am using PSP 2022 for this camp, 2021 still loaded just in case.
