This month, since it is back-to-school in many countries, I found those colors that remind me of colorful books and a chalkboard. It is also a palette that can go well with the upcoming fall colors.

Can you create a project using these colors?

August’s color palette fits so well with the current situation in the world: Terrible wars, violence, scorching heat, natural disasters..
Is this the purpose of human life?

As soon as I saw this palette it made me think of a photo I took some time ago of a Hibiscus flower. I’m not yet in the mood for a fall layout, we are in the middle of a heat wave at the moment with temperatires around 33 Celsius which is a lot for the Netherlands! I used an Artsy template; made a gradient for the background paper and gave it a textured look with the textured overlay script and toned the colors somewhat down; made a picture tube from the extracted flower; a text frame and a datestamp with a script too. All the scripts and the template are by Carole.

I was going to make a page with these colors, and then got sidetracked playing with this.  Oh well, I had fun.

Anne, nice and you have papers to use later too!

I made this layout with Carole’s StarbursTemplate Maker script.
The original flower and ribbons didn’t have the right colors, I colored them with the colors from the palette.

In the picture: my grandparents on father’s side, my parents with myself, and the little picture is me too.
I chose the quotes on the internet, unknow author.

Marie-Claire – that’s beautiful. I work a lot with old pix and I really admire what you did with yours.
