Have you ever made an ALPHABET album? It is a fun way to showcase photos or stories, but with an added twist.

I have created an alphabet album in the past, where each page had a title (and a topic) starting with one letter of the alphabet. Then, the pages were placed in alphabetical order, even if not in chronological order. So, for 2022, I am suggesting this long-term challenge for you. With one page every 2 weeks, we will be able to finish the year with a complete album. It is up to you to decide if you want to print it or share it otherwise.

I will share my own pages, just for ideas, but I will also give you some more words that will start with the letter of the week. Try to think of one overarching theme to use. It could be about your last vacation, a family gathering, a hobby of yours, a location, etc. Think of something that you have lots of photos of or many words you can associate with.

If you have not started yet and want to jump in, no problem. You know the alphabet so you know what letters you will have to do and you still have many months to catch up on those few pages, so don’t hesitate. There is also no deadline, so if this week’s page is done only next month, it is totally fine too.

So here is my F layout.

Of course, you can use words in your own language too. As you can see, this album was done in French.

Here are some other words that could be used as title/theme:

Fabulous, Fair, Family, Fantastic, Fashion, Festive, Find, Flirting, Focus, Fortune, Free, Friends, Friendship, Funny, Fake, Fast, Fat, Fictional, Flashy, Freezing, Fresh, Frustration, Flames, Flowers, Fog, Fresh, Feline, Farm, Fear, Final, Flag, Fountain, Frost, and many more.

What will your F layout be?

F is for Fairgrounds. My town is the county seat (see “C”) so the county fairground is also located here. Besides hosting the county fair, there is a huge July 4th festival hosted by the Catholic Church in town. 2022 will be the 72nd Annual Festival. There are other events there throughout the year as well. During the July 4th festival, there is a fireworks show. My house about 2 miles due north of the fairgrounds so I have a great view of the fireworks from my front yard. We used to be able to watch from the front window when we first moved here in the 60’s but as the trees have grown over the years, I’ve had to start going outside and change my angle to get the best view.

              F for ‘Fonske’

The artwork actually calls Fons Sapientiae which means “source of wisdom” in Latin, but most prefer to call it Fonske. The strange little man pours water -or is it really beer?- into his skull while reading. This is a metaphor for wisdom seeping through his brain.

The bronze student is one of Leuven’s (Belgium) most popular sights.

Well I think my letter F needs no explanation! I took all the photos on my walks around Etten-Leur last year.

F is for Francis – my favorite Franks! Grandfathers and Uncle and, of course, St. Francis. The papers and stitched alpha and heart are mine – made from labs (and from Carole’s teaching in one of the Challenges)! The font for the title is Brush script MT.
