This website decoration features Button Machine.  I created the material background with my logo pattern at an angle and textured it.  I added the button holes with Stitched Edge (and they could be better) and then made lots of buttons with the Button Machine.  The relevance of the puzzle may be lost in that it tries to point out the difficulty of matching ancestors that can look very similar to other people and only one button on the right fits the missing button hole.  I may add a caption later.

I am definitely going to have to visit your site to see all those elements telling the stories!

The site is at https://www.dowling.one-name.net/ but I use the images in a slideshow on the home page that changes on refresh.  The purpose of that is to make an essentially static data site look as if it has changed since one’s last visit.  Keep clicking on refreshing page and it will play through about twenty at present at random.  In truth new people are added to the site almost daily but adding a marriage , birth or death doesn’t count much as a dramatic change for anyone other than the person they are related to!

Some images have a double role and may head a particular subject on specific pages.  The Africa image heads the Africa list page which is somewhat down a few layers.

Wow Brian!  That is really impressive and I enjoyed refreshing the page to see all the surprises.  You’ve used so many techniques, it’s inspiring.
