How about a challenge that is just different?
Once in a while, I will present you with a challenge to do something that might not be repeated in other months. Just an idea that popped like that (and you can also send me suggestions for occasional random challenges too).
This week, let’s see you create a wordart. The challenge is not to make a scrap page but something that could be a framed wordart of its own (of course, you CAN make a layout after, with it). Find a fun or inspiring quote (or better, write one up). Use a variety of fonts, sizes, colors, orientations. Add decorative elements if you want, or not.
For our DIAMOND members, we covered some ideas in these classes:
So, what will you create?
May 29, 2021 at 3:30 pm #58664Shall I start the ball rolling?? OK! LOL Here’s a simple framed wall word art. I used filter forge wood, played with the tools to match the colour of the word art simple brown frame. Mitred corner script to create the frame. This word art just about sums me up! The white wash wall, also from filter forge, which I tweaked slightly.
May 29, 2021 at 7:34 pm #58672Love it Sue … and that is you in a nutshell! Well done dear friend. I hope Corrie sees this because she is starting to make her way with wordart. ;D
May 29, 2021 at 8:20 pm #58673Thank you ever so much Annie, I really do appreciate your kind words my dear friend. Corrie has come on leaps and bounds with her word art, also she’s working on establishing her own style. I know you are not one for Facebook, but when you get a minute, check out the scrapbook page. I’ve posted some interesting info about insects on Corrie’s nested frame post. I think you may find it interesting, if it doesn’t freak you out first. Lol. We are such a diverse caring group of people on here, yet we can all relate to the marvel of Mother Nature. Enjoy your day my friend.
May 29, 2021 at 8:55 pm #58675Here’s another one. Fonts used: Hugs & Kisses, Manibus and Casual
May 30, 2021 at 11:56 am #58695Playing with the Word Art challenge. I used cass-overlapped script for the first time. I used a PSP frame on the green layer which just shows as corner tapes. This saying just makes me chuckle
May 30, 2021 at 2:02 pm #58698Ann – a lot of fun with your word art!
Sue – we’re up in South Dakota and on our way home from Church I saw a billboard with that sign. Great thought!
I’ve taken a zillion pictures, but haven’t had time yet to play with my PSP although I’ve brought it along.
May 30, 2021 at 2:20 pm #58700And another one!!!! That’s it for now. I used the Mesh warp tool to create the word Nature. Not everyone likes this tool, but once you get used to it, it’s a very useful tool.
Ann, I have the overlapped script. I haven’t used it in ages. It saves a great deal of time, when you have a lot of text to do, like you have in your wordArt. The tape is a great addition to the page. There is a tutorial on how to create your own tape in the creative scrap. I have several which I created years ago. Not to sound picky, but you should turn the 9 upside down, 🙂 as up to 60% of an adult human body is water. Bones are made up of 31% water, the brain is 90% water. Don’t ask me how I know. lol
May 30, 2021 at 7:04 pm #58702Beautiful Sue, I am starting to get a hang of this wordart thing thanks to your inspiration. <3
May 30, 2021 at 7:05 pm #58703Great work Ann … and, you have put a big smile in my day, thanks Hon. <3
May 30, 2021 at 7:07 pm #58704Another lovely piece from you Sue and it sure is easy to appreciate the transient beauty of nature, thank you. <3
May 30, 2021 at 7:11 pm #58706My first for this challenge. I don’t know why but I have never really tried to play around with much wordart but I am becoming attracted to it … probably just another thing for me to obsess about, lol! And, as I did’t jot down the fonts that I used I am now clueless … sorry! Thanks for takin a peek my friends.
May 30, 2021 at 8:06 pm #58707Thank you ever so much Annie. That is one of the reasons why we are all here, to help inspire each other. I love using the text tool, I find creating wordart relaxing. You created a lovely sweet page, in addition, you are very sweet inside too!
May 30, 2021 at 8:35 pm #58709I got the idea for this one from Pinterest. Fonts used Arial and Glamlips. Thanks for takin a peek my friend. ;D
May 30, 2021 at 9:16 pm #58710Thanks dear Sue, so happy you had a peek my friend. To me the page looks very amaturish but hopefully I will improve as we go along … guess we all have to start somewhere, lol! An old hand at PSPing but wordart has me beat … go figure, ROTFL! You are always welcome to my praise Sue, I regard your work highly and your photography is exquisite. <3
May 30, 2021 at 9:26 pm #58711My greatest challenge in creating a layout is selecting a font. Can you imagine what this word art challenge is doing to me. I do plan to participate…just need some time. I love all the creations here.
May 31, 2021 at 3:28 am #58713Another wordart I played around with today. Danglers are becoming very popular in digital art and as I am a lover of zany and whimsical things I decided to put this together. Winter is upon us here in Aussie land so I felt it was appropriate. Font used is Curlz. Thanks for takin a peek my friends. ;D
May 31, 2021 at 3:31 am #58714ROTFL!! Bonnie you are a crack up! Between Ann and yourself I have had plenty to smile about today. <3
May 31, 2021 at 6:47 am #58715My mission in life, Annie!
May 31, 2021 at 12:23 pm #58716Annie, that is something quite different, certainly whimsical. I love it my friend!
May 31, 2021 at 12:29 pm #58717Annie, I love that ink splatter wordart page. It’s a beautiful piece work. To me when I first saw it, I thought awesome, sophisticated graffiti. Well done. Looks like you are enjoying wordArt!
May 31, 2021 at 5:04 pm #58720What a great and very different Wordart is created!!! And thank you Sue and Annie for the comments between you about my work. Much appreciated and it did put a smile on my face.
So here is my Wordart and Sue thanks to your explanation on Facebook about the Mesh Warp tool, I gave it a try and I think that tool will become a favourite one. The fonts I used are Styll Love, Phaethon, Renitha, Sonia and Nadine. The little flowers are a font too: Nature Pro. There are those gardenposters you can hang on a wall or a fence and as we have some on our fence, I did that here with my wordart. I’m going to like this wordart thing!
May 31, 2021 at 9:22 pm #58721ROTFL!
May 31, 2021 at 9:25 pm #58722Dear Sue, I am so pleased that you like them, coming from you it is high praise indeed. Thank you dear friend. <3
May 31, 2021 at 9:28 pm #58723Lovely work Corrie … so many different fonts and the phrase is delightful. I really like the Nature Pro font, it lends a special touch. Well done Hon. <3
May 31, 2021 at 11:25 pm #58738My last May Random WordArt challenge page for this month. It’s only now my apple trees are blossoming, and who should I find picking insects from the blossoms, but this delightful little warbler. To the best of my knowledge I have 2 pairs here. I used a watercolour splatter brush to create the mask. Out of bounds technique on the little bird’s tail. word art. Again, I used the mesh warp tool on the word Warbler. I cheated a little, I used the wordArt quote which I had created for a previous project.
June 1, 2021 at 3:29 am #58741I had fun playing with the script again. Getting the hang of it now. The fonts are Kleymissky, Century Schoolbook, Foglihten and Prida. The background is a red and gold streaked paper from Pixelscrappers latest freebie and I added all the square punches. I’m feeling a little witty… 😉
June 1, 2021 at 10:34 am #58743Wow! Sue, Ann, Annie, and Corrie, your WordArt layouts are outstanding! I really love seeing all of them. <3
Sue, some time ago, I named you “Master of WordArt” because you are an inspiration for us… But I have to tell you: The competition is getting soooo close!… Watch out for Ann, Annie, and Corrie! : D
Of course, I am just kidding… I know that here is not about competition, but sharing knowledge, practicing and inspiring…We really feel happy about each other’s achievements.
I haven’t been able to keep track of what everyone is doing and posting in the different threads, let alone comment on each one’s work, but be sure I love seeing what you all are doing!
June 1, 2021 at 2:44 pm #58751My dear, dearest Cristina! Thank you so much for your praise on my work. I remember it well, when you named me Master of WordArt. It was certainly high praise. I was chuffed to bits. I also remember many years ago, that we agreed, that we have very similar styles. I have always and still do admire your work. What can I say, other than, I am going to have to up my game, if I’m to retain the title. LOL I agree Corrie, Anne and Ann have created wonderful WordArt pages. A few words of encouragement and advice goes a long way. I totally agree, and I’ve said it before we are on this site to share knowledge, encourage and inspire one and all. While bonding lasting friendships.
June 1, 2021 at 4:47 pm #58753Cristina thank you so much for your kind words, but it is Sue I have to thank for her encouraging comments and explanations of her technics to many of us newcomers. I find those complementary to the TUTs and very helpful on the smaller details such as using the warp mesh. Seeing all the different pages here is a great inspiration and help in finding what I like for my own style. Besides that it is wonderful making new friends all over the world and learning about nature in all those parts of our planet. It has made the one and a half year of Covid-19 much more bearable for me!
