First of all, come and say HI once you register for this bootcamp.
We want to know who else will be there, on our side to cheer everyone up.
Everyone started as a beginner, so don’t ever compare yourself to others. You will learn one tool at the time, one concept at the time and you will create one project at the time. Everyone will have different photos and possibly different supplies so every project will be different.
Once the Bootcamp is started, on November 16th, you can post your projects in here.
Remember to resize your image to about 600 pixels before uploading it so it won’t slow down the site when we have lots of your masterpieces. Try to follow the tutorials at least enough that we can recognize what lesson you completed.
Now, let’s get ready !
If you missed the registration link or if you found this thread before I announce it (some people are very observant), HERE it is. Share it around if you want.
Although this Bootcamp is mostly meant to help beginners, we won’t exclude anyone for “excess experience”. Some participants are back for a second round. You are always welcome. Remember that it will be the exact same tutorials so don’t be surprised. I am sure you will now do something slightly different than the previous time.
Since anyone can follow the whole Bootcamp using the trial version of PaintShop Pro, this is a perfect opportunity for anyone to give it a try and see how they like the program, so share with your friends who MIGHT consider using PaintShop Pro.
The 7 tutorials will be spaced out over almost 2 weeks. This should make it easier for participants to follow without feeling stressed (it should never be stressful!).

I have participated a few times, and it has always been FUN. Lately, I haven’t been inspired to create layouts, so I hope that participating again will help.
Although I have been using PSP for a couple of years, I always find something new when I follow daily. I’m using PSP 21 with the black background, new materials palette, history palette, autohide the Organizer palette. I thought I would use some childhood photos of my daughter, approximately 30 years ago!

Hello all! My name is Shirley and i am very happy to be here Back in 2006 i used PSP (i think it was 7) and loved it, Then life happened and havent used for years.
Im using PSP 9 with just the normal settings Tried 2021 but was very intimidated by it. Lol
As far as a pic to use im not sure yet. so many choices!

Hi everyone –
Most people know me as TravlynWomyn as I am a full-time, traveling RVer. I joined the Scrapbook Campus several years ago, but like has a way of happening, and I never really got started, or even working properly with PSP until about two years ago. I’ve been a digital scrapbook kit designer for several years, but started out a bit ragged, on a different program, until a friend recommended Carole’s Stray Pixel Finder Script, and I’ve been a loyal advocate of her scripts and tubes ever since.
So, why am I here, now? I have not upgraded since version 2018 . . . when I downloaded version 2021, I was at a total loss. I’m a great-grandmother, but always up to learning new things. Life has slowed down my travels quite dramatically, which means it’s time to take advantage and really get to know what this program is all about.
Here I am, in Bootcamp, November 2020 . . . Michigan is going back into another Corona lockdown . . . and it’s my chance to start figuring this program out more efficiently . . . so here I am . . . and trust me . . . I’m much more raw than you can imagine. I did take another course – and that really got me started in realizing how I can work with my photos – and I am an avid photographer.
For Day 1 – and courtesy of a large monitor, I have set my Workspace to large icons, large text and large node (my trifocals and those nodes are not mutually compatible . . . I can never see where they are hiding). I chose the lighter gray for both, and, as of right now have the Materials, Layers and Tool options checked. I have not downloaded any photos yet as I am not sure in what direction I want to go with them.
I have had PSP for several years but never really learned to use it properly. I started the bootcamp in July this year, but wound up getting to busy to go very far with it. I have just installed the trial version of PSP21 and thought this would be a good way to try it out. I have a couple of ideas for what I may work on, but so far, I can’t decide which way to go. I have learned a lot from some of the tutorials and tips offered here. Thanks so much.

De, welcome to the Bootcamp. Those flowers are lovely. Do you have many flower photos? That is a common and beautiful theme to showcase if you have a garden.
Raymond, older photos are fantastic to showcase in scrapbook pages!
Cristina, you know the drill! Everyone’s projects will surely inspire you too.
Alice, welcome to the Campus. Always happy to see another Canadian (waving from the East coast). It is my goal that you will at least be more comfortable with PSP.
Welcome Shirley. Are you using the JASC PSP9 version? If so, that is one I have always open on my workspace too (especially when I do scripting). Are you going to do the Bootcamp with 2021?
Anne L, re-welcome. I guess in July, you could not use PSP2021 as it was not out. Let’s hope this time around, you will have more chances to complete the Bootcamp (if not, you know there will be another one later!)
Vicki, I am glad to see you in this Bootcamp. Yes, opening PSP2021 can be intimidating at first because of the “Home” screen which didn’t exist in the past, so when used to older versions, you might wonder if you opened the correct program. Don’t worry, you will find your tools!
Sandra, glad to see you around again. It will be fun to see some Halloween photos, even if the event is over.

Pat, welcome to the Campus. Are you looking for the Cheatsheet? The link is on the page, just below the video of the Installation and customization of PSP. Make sure you are using the Complete workspace (if you use a recent version of PSP) otherwise, it will look VERY different. If you are looking for something specific, don’t hesitate to ask. That is the whole purpose of this Bootcamp and you will find many very helpful members around.
For everyone who is new to the Bootcamp, you will notice that I will look at EVERY post in this thread, I will respond to EVERY question (unless someone answers before I get to it), and will comment on EVERY project posted. So, be comfortable to ask questions, comment on others’ posts. We are a fantastic helpful community.
Hi – I was hoping to join in this Boot Camp again – (I am working on calendars still!) it is a great scrap book starter and I am still learning how everything goes together, I have learnt a lot and still have a lot to learn in creating pages, but I look forward to coming in and seeing the results being posted and the inspiration shown. Enjoy the challenge, the pages and the expertise of Cassel.

Is that what I should call you? Anyway, I didn’t have the kit that was used in the video, but here is my 600 pixel picture. I had so much fun doing this. You can keep tweaking a picture forever. I had to stop somewhere. I feel like I’ve learned the most important LAYERS! This part had always stumped me.
What do you think?
De, what kit are you referring to? In the Lesson 2, there is a download with the Sandwich. It is not a kit. Did you access a different lesson?
And you can surely call me Cassel as I have used that nickname online for almost 20 years now (although my real name is Carole).
Finished the Layers lesson. Used PSP 2021 though its still a little intimidating to me and it froze up a time or two. Going to do the lesson again in version 9 just to compare.
Edit: Tried to use PSP 9 to rework lesson and “Table” psp image wont open. Sandwich opens fine but get an error on the table image saying its not a valid PSP file.
Tried earlier to post my Layers project but I dont see it here. Did the tut in PSP 2021 and was going ro rework in PSP 9 but table image wont open. Will try again later. Hopefully my laptop isnt about to crash..
Shirley, once in a while, the safety features in the Campus will flag some posts as spam (even though they are not). I checked and that is what happened to yours, so I just enabled it. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I have finished my sandwich and was really hungry. I added more fillings and because I am sometimes sloppy, I added a place mat. I hope that is O K.

Hi Carole,
I watched the New Kid on the Block tut Project 1. The tut said that kit was no longer available, so I used what I had on my computer. I need more graphic. I have no illusion that I could draw what I need. Looking at the previous posting, was I suppose to work with the sandwich. I watched the tut, I think, moved on to project 1. Let me know if I need to go back and work the sandwich. Thanks in advance for your help. De
Ah, De, that is because you are ahead, so to speak. Tomorrow, with that project, you will have links to other supplies you can download if you want (or you can use other kits you have already). I would LOVE to see your sandwich. I love seeing everyone’s sandwiches and read all the stories about them too. It is so fun. Did you make a sandwich? Or maybe you ate it all?
It’s Day 2 of Bootcamp – and I have already learned two new things – yippee!!!!! I am going to follow the lessons, verbatim, even though I was itching to place a background and add some shading and detail . . . I did make my plate more oval . . . and just realized what else I could have done, while staying in the perameters of this lesson . . .now to fix a cup of coffee and enjoy my sandwich.
Day 2= I made a turkey, tomato and lettuce sandwich. The onion and pickle I can do without. I hope every one enjoyed their sandwich as much as I enjoyed mine.

Oops, I have a tendency to do things back ass ward. Anyway, I when back and did the sandwich with a few mods. Where’s the cheese?? Good thing I have a dishwasher for the extra dinnerware. I didn’t know we were suppose to put a story with it, but my husband and I have been on a modified Keto diet. We’ve both lost 80 lbs. Fun! Thanks for your help. De
