Cassel Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 https://scrapbookcampus.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Freebie-Challenge.jpg Freebies are great resources that you can find in many places to build a library of elements, graphics, and tools. Since they are free, they are available to all. This week, grab this set of tags from Design Bundle. They are free only for this week so don't delay. Those tags can be used for photos of loved ones, but others are perfect for garden-themed or spring projects. There are various formats, but you will want to use the PNG files. Grab this set HERE. How will you use those tags?
Sue Thomas Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 These free tags are gorgeous. Now that I have submitted a page for this challenge, I'm going to create some similar tags myself for different projects. I like the cut out effect. Mother's Day in the UK is on the 27th March this year. Mothering Sunday takes place on the fourth Sunday in the festival of Lent, exactly three weeks before Easter Sunday. Went with the Mothering Sunday theme. On occasions I will create this type of layout, giving a 3D effect. I can pretend I have an art studio, to showcase my framed photographs. Carole's wood frame script. Carole's screw picture tube. The vase and flowers came from creative fabric quite some ago, as individual elements. Font monogram with leaf elements added to make a wreath. My usual word art. Created the sellotape years ago.
Sue Thomas Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 You can't really see the tags properly in the page, due to the page resized to 600 pixels from several thousand pixels.
Guest Guest Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 oh, these are so beautiful - thanks Carole the string bow is from Digitalscrapbook.com
Sue Thomas Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 I mentioned in my previous tag post, that I was going to create my own tags, with exterior extensions, and cut outs. Here is one I did last night.
Corrie Kinkel Posted March 7, 2022 Posted March 7, 2022 I was in need of some cards and wanted to use a photo from this butterfly that I used before. When we were doing the masks workshop I searched for more brushes and found a brush with watercolor butterflies which I used on the mask. A very subtle background made with the kaleidoskop. Then started a lot of domestic problems with the floor and waterdamage etc and came the freebie challenge for this week. So I made a tag with one of the very nice freebies and at last my card is ready! Sue very lovely tag !!!
Sue Thomas Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Corrie, you didn't disappoint, your card is lovely. The recipient is going to love it. Excellent use of the tag. You could have cut out the brush decor at the top, even though they are a nice touch as they are. Did you forget to thread the ring through the tag hole? It would be quite understandable with the water leak issue you have to contend with on your mind.
Randy Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Sue Thomas (73345) . I really like the way you took the butterfly with part cutout and part filled extending beyond the tag. The whole thing is lovely but this part really caught my eye.
Randy Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Carole (#73158), thank you for the tags. I am considering how I may use them. Inspired by the birthday card by Corrie Kinkel (#73364), I am thinking of making a card for myself for an upcoming milestone birthday. I know; who makes birthday cards for themself? Well, I will. I will want guitars and a font (or graphics) for musical notes and a nice font for the number. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you to all who participate at Scrapbook Campus. You always make me feel welcome. I appreciate feedback and suggestions on how to do things differently and better - or just nicer. I am inspired by the works of art which you share.
Randy Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Pirkko (#73243), I like the simplicity of your design. The message of "Thank you" is front and centre.
Sue Thomas Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Randy, thank you for your compliment on the tag. I was showcasing the tag. After I saw the freebies, I had to create my own tags, with the extensions, to suit my projects. There are sites where you will find guitars, in png format. If you find an element that you like, you can use brightness and contrast to turn the image into a silhouette to create an extension on the tag, or a cut out. As for fonts, I have one which I've had for some time. It's actually a very nice font, and I think it's a font that you will find useful time and time again. The dingbat font, should prove very useful to you. It was free from Creative Fabrica. Here is a display image of the font, which has an extra dingbat font. I see it's on sale for $4. Here is a link for Carole's music tubes, free download, and instructions on how to use them, in the blog. https://scrapbookcampus.com/2016/07/how-to-use-the-music-picture-tubes/
Corrie Kinkel Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Sue thank you and of course you are right about the ring and the taghole, I was a bit pressed for time because my card must be in the post tomorrow, so just time enough to fix it and print it this evening. With all the work involving the waterdamage on the floor I haven't had much time to scrap. I did cut out the swirls at the top but didn't like it, they are so delicate.
Randy Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Sue Thomas (#73392) ... thank you for the suggestions ... this is a great start!
Corrie Kinkel Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Another card with another of the tags for my dear friend who has heard today that the tumor she has is growing again and a new treatment is started. Last year I have sent her a card every week during her chemo therapy and I'll do so again, but this time it is looking grimm. Seen in this light: waterdamage is peanuts!
