We want to know who else will be there, on our side to cheer everyone up. Everyone started as a beginner, so don't ever compare yourself to others. You will learn one tool at the time, one concept at the time and you will create one project at the time. Everyone will have different photos and possibly different supplies so every project will be different. Once the Bootcamp is started, on September 16th, you can post your pages in here. Remember to resize your image to about 600 pixels before uploading it so it won't slow down the site when we have lots of your masterpieces. Try to follow the tutorials at least enough that we can recognize what lesson you completed. Now, let's get ready ! If you missed the registration link or if you found this thread before I announce it (some people are very observant), HERE it is. Share it around if you want. Although this bootcamp is mostly meant to help beginners, we won't exclude anyone for "excess experience". Some participants are back for a second round. You are always welcome. Remember that it will be the exact same tutorials so don't be surprised. I am sure you will now do something slightly different than the previous time. Since anyone can follow the whole bootcamp using the trial version of PaintShop Pro, this is a perfect opportunity for anyone to give it a try and see how they like the program, so share with your friends who MIGHT consider using PaintShop Pro. I recently updated Corel PaintShop Pro X9 to PaintShop Pro 2019. I prefer the medium gray workspace with a white background. I have been using PSP since version 7, but I didn't quite know what to do outside of what I taught myself. Layers were a mystery back then. I can't tell you how many docs I lost by flattening. I have since learned that CTRL-Z is your friend. LOL, well, this may be the first challenge that I have completed. Oops, did I say that. And every time is an opportunity to practice different techniques and Cassels's great tutorials. For this exercise, I chose the following tutorials: Gingham Pattern; Frayed Edges2; Twisted String and Rust Texture. Cassel Posted September 18, 2019 Author Share Posted September 18, 2019 Kim and Shirley, simple is quite ok as long as you have a chance to practice those layers commands and get to understand how they work. Layers are such an essential part of manipulating images, scrapbook pages, and other projects. Without layers, you would just be painting, which is so much more limiting with such a powerful program. Ken, welcome to the bootcamp. Mireille and Cristina, I have to say that I did consider using those toppings too in the exercise file, but I decided to keep the file exactly as in the video, but yes, it looks delicious! For anyone looking at those projects, don't think that you HAVE to make your sandwich this elaborate. Mireille and Cristina are long-time members AND have done this bootcamp more than once so they keep adding something new every time! Kim, good start. Did you add shadows to your elements? If you add shadows to a full-size project, you can be more "generous" with the settings, even if you are going to size it down later.
