I'll post my projects for the BSC here.  Not sure how fast I'll work through them.  Doing the Bootcamp as well currently.

This is Project 1 from Module 1:

Here is Project 2 from Module 2.  I have elements from Janet Kemp, Marisa Lerin, Rachel Martin, and Sharon Dewi Stolp.  I created the background using photo corners from Jessica Dunn.  I only downloaded two of the four and went from there.  I actually have several of those now in different colors.  Rest is original photography or from the internet. The fonts I used to create two "alpha" words and 5 alpha letters were Loves Labour and Moria Citadel.

Module 3 Project 3.  A couple of papers from cpjess, one modified from Flolinette-PBS and a rope from Marisa Lerin.  The photo is two originals taken from aboard ship, blended together with another layer that was a gradient fill. Background, plaid paper and paint splash original.  Elements from the internet.  I keep forgetting to write down the font names when I have more than one and always "lose" the first one LOL.  Needless to say it was as Carole calls them...a thick one and in this case a 3D font. The second is obviously Ariel.  PS.  I'm going to start renaming the font raster layers with the font name and size.  Might keep me straight in the future that way. The OpenAsLayer does a good job with the papers and elements in that way.

If you keep a vector copy of the text, you can always double-click on the text object and it will show the font name in the font dropdown list. That is one advantage of keeping one "original" vector copy of any text.

Got it.  Thanks.  I almost always DO keep a vector copy of the texts so I'll have to go back and look.

@Cassel  I'm curious.  I saw you mentioned to one of the other participants in the boot camp, something about using a rope and making sure it was on top.  In Project 3, I did a cluster that is different from many, in that I had a couple of ropes, a string, and a group of shells.  The shells seemed to me to "work" placing them on top over the center knot on one of the ropes which was on top of a rope that was coming apart.  I really enjoyed finding that sweet spot with the layering where the string appeared to intertwine amidst the layers.  Did I really achieve the effect I was hoping for placing the shells on top?

It can work but it always depends on the element. In the other comment I made, it was a very thick rope and it was under "flat ribbons". That is the part that does not work. In your cluster, the rope is much thinner, and the elements on top of it are logical to see in that order.

Does that make sense?

Module 4 Project 4.  Almost all supplies from Cassel's Fire and Ice with a couple of modifications.  Used a green paper from Jessica Dunn.  The doily was done by me following along one of the tutorials.  I pretty much turned the layout 90 degrees since my photo was NOT in landscape format.  PS...you have to look close to see Rambo.

Bringing October in with a bang (although the birthday was yesterday; I didn't wrap it up until this morning).  Module 5 Project 5.  Shadows were challenging but I "think" I got most of them done OK.  Several of the papers came from the cpjess-crafty eve mini kit. Background was cass-Random Brush Print-Summer.  A couple of things off internet then highly modified by myself.  Alpha is original.......base font is Incised 901 Nd BT @400 dpi. The ribbon was generated with the sinebot plugin, then turned into a pattern flooded into a narrow 3600 wide selection.  Stitching was the original stitch tube from Corel but I've made 3 or 4 more in different colors.

You are having fun with different techniques in this layout! As for the shadows on the balloons, I would use a much larger blur and lower opacity. The offset is ok but since a balloon is so "thick", the shadow should not have clear edges.

I love your layouts Daniel.  I also title the vector layer with the font name, it's faster than clicking on the object in the layer because my Text tool takes forever to activate.  This way I just look at the layer.  Good idea to put the font size.

Love the interlocking circles.  That was way beyond me when i first did the Basic Scrap Course.  they look great. the ones that are more on an angle, did you squish them or did you make them as ovals so they would look like that?  Nice shadow on the balloons!

I did a couple or more as ellipses and the rest circles.  At first I tried to dare to be different and was going to try to get the effect with triangles LOL but I couldn't get them to draw out the way i envisioned.

Module 6 Project 6.  I recycled the mask from Alinamaria DCS that I used on Day 1 Project 1 of the Masks Workshop to provide a glimpse of an Autumn Bokeh by Rosemary Causbrook at PSP Maniacs which is underneath the cluster. Ribbons, elements and clipart from CF, Marisa Lerin, and Rachel Martin. Papers from  PBS-Escale amoureuse- Talie, cpjess, ps_jessica-dunn, and Cassel. Font for Alphas AR CENA 400 and for journaling and tag AR Essense.

Module 1
I thought I posted this in another forum, and it seems to have disappeared, so looking around, I found this forum for the Basic Scrap Course.
I chose a couple of photographs I had taken around Waipapa Point on the south coast of the South Island.
For this project, I used Heather T's kit Love Spoken Here provided for this module.
I have never used alphas before, in fact, although I do have a few, they sit unused in their folder on my hard drive.
The alpha in this kit was perfect for the title, and the only item I colourised was the brown button, which I toned down a bit to match the colour of the tussocks in the top photo.
The trees in the lower photo are bent over, thanks to the force of the wind coming at them.

Module 2
Using Marisa Lerin's Let's Shop mini, this kit worked even though the title doesn't...this page is not about shopping, in fact,
Waipapa Point is so far removed from anything like shopping :classic_laugh:
To secure the photograph of Waipapa Point Lighthouse, I used a button and a piece of string.
Wildlife is prevalent nearby, I saw a sealion sunbathing amongst the tussocks leading up the sand hill to the lighthouse on top, a while ago and I also saw 2 of them fighting over a female when one male and one female rose out of the water to bathe on the beach.
The lighthouse was built in this spot after one of the worst maritime tragedies in New Zealand waters back in 1881 when 131 lives were lost.

Module 3
The Arrowtown Autumn Festival is on shortly. Arrowtown is an old goldmining town, with most buildings still standing, including this row of miners cottages on Buckingham Street, the main street of the town
Many cottages have been set up as boutique shops selling ice cream, wine, chocolate, and sweets, and New Age shops selling incense, crystals, etc.
There are a few cafes and restaurants tucked away amongst the cottages.
I used Jessica Dunn's Bohemian Sunshine kit, I had the papers and embellishments already.  I colourised the papers to match the palette of the cottages.
Fonts used are Gill Sans Ultra Heavy and Gill Sans MT Regular, and the script one is Amalfi Coast.

Thank you, Carole, I am enjoying these. I am also learning great information. I have never bound a script before, and, although I have customised my workspace, I hadn't done any customising a layer palette. So, no matter how long I have been playing in PSP, I'm learning so much more now.  As I said earlier, using alphas is new to me, too. Thank you.

Module 4
Using the kit supplied by Carole, Fire and Ice, I wasn't sure how this would work with any of my photos, however, I found the perfect match.
A bright, colourful photograph of a lighthouse, possibly a child's play hut, such a fun structure, on the road alongside the estuary outside of Invercargill.
I think the colours match beautifully, like this kit is so uplifting.
The screw is mine, from one of Nanson's tutorials from the days of PSP8.
The journal font is Gill Sans MT Regular. I have loved Eric Gill's typographic work, since studying his font designs in 1994.
