  1. Anne, your butterfly is beautiful!!! Do you still tat? The results you got from it are amazing!
  2. Cristina, I am curious, what is the Affinity Designer Module 1 course?
  3. Sorry, I must have misunderstood something. I agree that it would be nice to change the fonts to italic or bold, but it is not possible at this time in Affinity. Each program has their pros and cons.
  4. My first challenge! The photo is mine and the mask is from Jessica Dunn. Sadly nature has taken over the space where this Iris was and I don't see it anymore.
  5. I looked on the forum and it does state that the B and I buttons are disabled in the Affinity apps for font families that don't include those styles. If you are using fonts that do have the styles, you can change them all on the same layer. You just highlite the word you want to change. I just tested it out and this is what I did. Different fonts and styles, all the same text box and same layer.
  6. Day 7, this has been a great workshop! Thanks Carole for all the time and work you put into this! The photo as always, is my own. This beautiful bird doesn't show up often and is a treat to see. This one is a male and he was there for a short time one day and gone! We must have been a rest stop for him I have so many brushes I had to play and settled on the leaf brush instead of a polka dot. The brush is from Frankentoon, the mask is from Sheila Reid.
  7. Beautiful image, I love macro shots! Really well done!
  8. I did the Veronoi filter but really don't care for it. I did use a radial blur, maybe too much, but it was just too busy for my taste.
  9. Day 5. I fiddled with this a lot, still not really happy with it, but maybe it's the shape throwing me off. I will definately be playing with masks for awhile and hopefully I will get better with them. They still confuse me for some reason. As a side note, the male and female catbirds look the same. We seem to have quite a few of them here and they nest in my big rose bush every year.
  10. I think your layout looks great! We are always our own biggest critics aren't we!
  11. I love how you did the background on this. It almost looks like sunflowers in the back ground. Beautiful pic!
  12. Day 4 with Affinity. This was fun to do and so easy! I used one of the brushes from Carole's link. The back ground is a texture layer with a colored pixel layer over it. Then I used a blending mode to get the look and color I wanted.
  13. Day 3 Affinity. I used the mask from Melo, 3 times! We made bluebird houses and I actually raised mealworms to feed them. If you put the mealworms out at the same time every day, they will be there! I tried several different selections to find the background that looked the best. So much fun but so hard to choose!!
  14. I love it when a different bird shows up! I have to get a picture and find out what it is!!
  15. They look so soft! Beautiful!
  16. Day 2 in Affinity. I kept the font the same and will try to do so all week. These woodpeckers are huge and they love suet! They come right in our front yard within 6 feet of the house. The male has the full red crest and a red "mustache" where as the female only has a half red crest. The plaid seems a bit intense, but I do like the colors! Thank You Carole for the directions on creating the plaid!
  17. Your layout is beautiful! Here is a tip that might be easier. There is a column marquee and row marquee selection tool and they are only 1 px in thickness. There is also a transform panel (windows, transform). If you select too many pixels, you can easily change it here. You can also set rotation and other things in this panel. There are choices so you can choose what works best for you. Hope this helps!
  18. I have lots of birds photos (almost as many as cat photos!) so I will do birds this time. When I finished this, I realized they were all females that I had picked! The font is Garinstae Script and the back ground paper is from Frankentoon.
  19. I have that same problem! There is so much craft stuff here that I'll probably never use again, but you never know!
  20. I signed up for the workshop, it's sounds great! Will be using Affinity.
  21. Mine are old but they still work. They are all expensive now!
  22. Monique, if by cutting out the circle, you mean you just want the green in the circle only, it's just like putting the photo's into the templates for scrapbooking. Drag your the layer with your green background on top on the circle layer and it should pop it in.
  23. I have the Nik collection and a couple from Topaz in Photo. I am pretty sure that FilterForge also works. I don't have AlienSkin so I can't answer that.
  24. Carole, the leaves are more like a vine so they are longer. It was made from a tutorial and it is a vector image brush.
  25. Gwen, I love your flower! It's beautiful! (purple is my favorite color)
