  1. Ann, so glad you liked the page my friend. topPNG is a free image site most of which are png and transparent background ... tube. They have some terrific images and it can save you time spent extracting in PSP. Just type toppng.com into the google search bar and it comes up immediately. Have fun exploring my friend. ;D
  2. Beautiful shawls Marie-Claire. Have you registered for the webinar this coming Sunday. It should be very helpful as the subject matter is shadows. I think a lot of us struggle with that. Cassel has a tutorial for laser cut doilies and in that she has included a shadow for that 'holey' kind of work ... perhaps that would suit your shawls better. You are definitely not alone with your concerns. Well done on your page Hon. ;D
  3. Hello Scrapbook Campus Friends. I am in for this one. I did a magazine challenge once before and I really enjoyed it so I am really thrilled it has been offered again. I am scouting for photos as of now! ;D
  4. Dear Corrie you have created a beautiful page. Your lacework is truly beautiful and a beloved keepsake. I enjoyed reading about the history of lacemaking ... very interesting. Like yourself my handwork (crochet) has had to be put on the shelf because age has claimed the nimbleness I once had. But, I enjoy my graphic artistry so just another change we all must get used to. Lovely page and work my friend. Oh, and we do enjoy the eggs! ;D
  5. Thanks dear Sue, very much appreciated my friend. Australians are very laid back, even with out language, hence the single g in vegies, lol! I expect though that some of us would use the gg. Here in the land of Oz you either have a vegetable patch, herb garden or flower garden. Lawns are grass that you have to mow ... yuck! We also refer to the outside of the house as the yard and the backyard is where we have our barbies! Languages are such a peculiar thing and even though we are english speaking countries we all have our peculiarities and I dare say that would be the same worldwide. ;D
  6. Hello Scrapbook Campers.  I have a few hobbies so have listed 2 with this one.  The layout is from my own template.  The corner cluster is by Marisa Lerin from PixelScrappers.  The hen is a tube from toppng.  Background papers are my own.  The font used for the title is Planet Benson 2 and for the journaling Ossellany Script.  The photo is a freebie off the web.  Thanks for takin a peek my friends.  ;D
  7. Ann, Corrie and Sue, my dear friends you are absolute gems.  Thank you so much for your honest comments on this page.  I have made some adjustments to accommodate your suggestions.  I did put a shadow on the pearl by using the circle selection tool with a feather of 1.  I had to do it that way because the original tube came with pearl and chain attached.  I decided not to remove the chain ... probably sheer laziness on my part ... but there just wasn't enough room for me to add a threaded ribbon to it, so chain it had to be.  Also, it came with a shadow and removing a shadow from a chain was not enticing me to play by the rules, lol!  Dear Corrie, I totally agree that the colour scheme is not me so I made a very minor colour change adjustment which I think is better but still not satisfying ... hmmmm.  Clever idea dear Sue to add a date to the threaded ribbon and again it was just laziness that made me delete instead of adding to it.  I think by that stage I was wholeheartedly sick of the page and just wanted an end to it ... bin job, lol!  Dear Ann I went with your advice regards the title and moved the word Artistry up closer to the word Seashell and I do like the look of that better.

Thank you lovely friends for the constructive criticism ... goes a long way to furthering my desire to improve my work.  ;D

  8. I finally got around to doing something for this forum.  It is a mish mash of the freebie/scavenger/theme projects.  It is ok ... definitely not my best work and I think it could well and truly do without the threaded ribbon but ... it is what it is.  I would appreciate truthful comments about this piece and what you think of the threaded ribbon ... yay or nay.  Thanks for takin a peek my friends.  ;)
  9. Thank you sweet lady. As I remarked to Sue the layout was provided I just had to change up a few things to include the requirement for the challenge ... I did have fun with the tuts and learned a thing or two in the process ... as you do! Always appreciate your comments dear Corrie. <3 ;D
  10. Let me just say how lovely it has been to get on here and see all the beautiful pages you ladies have created. As I haven't been on the 'what are you working on in july' showroom for ages there are just too many beautiful creations for me to comment on individually. Collectively ... beautiful work and a total joy to peruse ... well done dear friends. ;D
  11. Finally got around to creating for this challenge.  Layout is courtesy of Christine Aufty from PixelScrappers and the fashion girls are freebie sketches off the web.  Thanks for takin a peek my friends.  ;D
  12. One more for the Freebie Challenge.  Again I used the sketch as is but eliminating the journaling.  I am very fond of Newspaper Art so this whole page is based on that.  Loui Jover is an Australian Artist who uses newspapers as his background canvas.  I love his work but the only picture of his that I used here is the couple on a bike with the red umbrella.  I used another of his artworks to create the shoe brush and that was also on a newspaper background.  The font used for the title is Caramba!  Thanks for takin a peek my friends.  ;D
