I've missed you too Ann. I try to sneak in here on the odd occassion but the scripting course has totally captured me. I have kind of put myself back in school ... getting on here around 8am and closing down about 5pm. I need lots of revision to get the lessons to sink in and that is what takes up most of my time. Maybe one day I will actually write my own script to share with you all. Carole's scripts are just amazing though and now that I am getting a bit of an idea of the work that actually goes into a script I am amazed that Carole sells them so cheaply ... she is a sweetie. ;)

Aargh ... my nemesis! I excelled in most subjects at school but I was a math dummy especially when it got into those algebra equations.
I think it was math that was responsible for most of my youthful migraines, LOL! Loving the lessons Carole ... they are sure taxing these old brain cells! ;D

Hi Trish, lovely to see your happy smiling face around here again. As for the sympathy sentiments ... they are both adorable and suitable. Both are quaint and I love lace but I think I lean to the misted image. Lovely work dear friend. ;D

Hello dear Friends. I'm here to let you know that I have not deserted my post. As you are probably aware I am doing the Scripting Course and ... yes, it is intensive and we are only into the very beginnings of it! LOL! I am loving it just the same and I wanted all of you to know that I love and miss you. To use Arnold Schwarzenegger's catchphrase ... I'll be back! ;D

Terrific page here Michele and the wrapped text is executed perfectly. I love the artwork. And, thanks for the compliments my friend, always appreciated. ;)
-
Corrie I love your page, beautiful photo and your wrapped text turned out perfectly. You made me smile when you said Murphy's law applied to this project! But you got there in the end dear friend, job well done indeed. ;)

Thanks so much dear Sue, your comments are always uplifting for me. The brad was part of Janet Kemp's kit and I thought that the slight touch of blue would add another dimension of colour. With family out here Suze you should consider a trip over ... if we are ever allowed to travel again. The world seems to be going backwards on a social scale. ;D

Mary and Corrie, thank you very much for your lovely comments on my work. I grew up with a fishing dad, uncle and pop so I explored many mangroves and fell in love with them. ;D

And here is my revised "My Country". This time I used an elipse to encompass the wrapped text. The outline of Australia frames indigenous male, gekko and boomerang. The bottlebrush is found all over Australia and I had made the brush some time ago so decided to use it. Font used for the title is Colegial. I love the brightness contrast feature in psp and often use it to highlight text. I did so here for the poem and the info regards Dorothea MacKellar. Thanks for takin a peek my friends ... and, thanks for the tips dearest Sue. ;D

Sue you really are a sweetheart. Thanks for your comments and on reflection I perhaps should have put the poem into a selection of it's own and used the outline of Australia to incorporate some of the aspects mentioned in the poem. I may do that yet, :) As it stands for anyone who is not familiar with the poem it would be very hard to grasp the concept of it. Suze do not change a thing you do with your work ... it is always beautiful and a real joy to peruse. ;D

Another for the tut tech challenge. It is very interesting how we can have different issues. I think it has a lot to do with windows updates ... I always dread when I know that is happening. My compatibility setting is PSP 7! The version of PSP I am using is 2022. Perhaps I have never tried to save any wrapped text work to come back to it later ... I honestly can't remember. For this one today I did a lot of playing around with font selection and size to come up with something that was presentable. I did cut and paste the quotation marks as they were wanting to go awry but of course that was no hassle once I had converted the text to a raster layer. Font used is Colegial for the wrapped text and cooper black for the title. Some elements are from Janet Kemp's kit "Apple Crisp" and some are my own. The papers used are Janets. Thanks for takin a peek my friends. ;D
P.S. Corrie, so sorry my friend that I am not able to offer any solutions that are helpful. I hope that Carole's suggestion works for you. <3

This is my wrapped text attempt. It is definitely tricky and I fiddled with it a lot to get it to be of reasonable acceptance to myself. The wrapped text feature works wonderfully in basic shapes but is rather messy when used in wonky shapes. Anyway for what it is worth I am posting My Country. It is a beautiful poem and so very well suited to this country. The tubes are all my own and the gradient is also one I created myself especially to suit Australia. The aboriginal art print overlay is the work of Kate Owen. Thanks for takin a peek my friends. ;D

Beautiful work in both instances Sue. I too had problems with wrapping the text but with a lot of manipulation and changing font size here and there it turned out as I wanted it to. Changing the font size was only by one pixel but it did make all the difference and I don't think it is too visible. I will be posting my attempt after this reply to you so let me know what you think ... I could be kidding myself here ... I have been known to do that, LOL! Anyway my dear friend your work is always beautiful and I really love to peruse it. I think you may suffer from 'perfectionism' whereas I am 'higgledy-piggledy' so the messy layout of the text in mine didn't bother me, LOL! <3 ;D

I too have enjoyed all the posts, beautiful work and wonderful memories shared. There is always a slight sense of let down when something like this is finished ... but, I am now being swept up in a new challenge ... learning scripting! Last pages dear friends, Day 7 and the back cover. Thanks for takin a peek. ;)

Thanks dear Ann! I just had to put up a new profile pic because the other seemed all glasses and I just got a new pair which I prefer ... still worrying about these things even at the age of 69! ;D
-
LOL! Minka it happens to me all the time but I think the secret is to choose them in the reverse order ... I think, LOL! Beautiful and humourous page my friend. ;D

I found this beautiful photo of a mangrove sunrise so I decided to use it for a page and I didn't want to overpower it with accents. I did a fair amount of work on the background using overlays with blurs, blend modes, opacities and this is the final result. Sometimes I can put together a page with loads of embellishments etcetera and it will only take an hour or two whereas this one seemingly so simple took quite a few hours ... go figure! Thank for takin a peek my friends. ;D
-
Job well done Michele, I love it my friend. Your labour of love plaid out! LOL! ;D
-
I did use a blend mode Carole ... burn with reduced opacity. Much nicer on the full size and resizing does diminish the effect. ;)
-
Gosh it has been fun perusing all the beautiful work ... same templates and so many different results and I love them all. You really are a creative bunch.
This is my day 6. The blurb offers enough info without me repeating it here. I did want to keep to a consistent background colour for the magazine but with this photo the sage green was a far better blend. Thanks for takin a peek my friends. ;D

Again so much beautiful work to take in ... enjoyment +++, thank you.
Today's page is about a 'different' kind of touring experience. Possibly a lot may not enjoy as the temperatures can soar to 120F plus and that is why the residents live in caves. Yes, we do have cave dwellers here in Australia! Mining for opals began here in 1916 and Coober Pedy is known as the opal capital of the world. The name "Coober Pedy" comes from an Aboriginal term kupa-piti, which means "whitefellas' hole" ... and that it is, lol! And thanks for the tip Sue, I stretched the text quite a bit for the right effect. Thanks for takin a peek my friends. ;D
-
You are most welcome dear Sue ... sleep tight. ;D
-
Again I wish to compliment all of you on the beautiful work you are creating. Good reading to peruse whilst enjoying my morning cuppa ... thank you all. ;D
Here are my pages for days 4 A&B. Carole I have to confess to cheating a bit by resizing these pages to 600 px on the shortest side. It was impossible to read if I did it on the longest side. Thanks for takin a peek my friends. ;D
-
A delightful magazine page dear Sue. I just wanted to let you know that exactly the same thing happens to me with the text tool on occasions. I don't bother to close down the program as I know that it will right itself in a short period of time. I was using 2021 and now use 2022 ... same thing, go figure! ;D
