Trish, some templates look like quick pages as they have a lot of details already there. Think of it this way:

Quick-pages are all done for you; you add the photos and the titles and it is done

Templates are bases, full of "placeholders" that you replace by your own papers and elements. They are more work, but are obviously customizable.

Maybe I should have a tutorial explaining the differences.

Cassel, a tutorial on that would be very helpful. I know in the beginning, quickpages frustrated me because I didn't realize the difference.
