Not much to say about this! - the papers were in my stash and recoloured to hopefully match colours in the photo, the font Arial, the foliage also from my stash.

The background is a photo taken from the jetty to the island with a light blend mode (I do like the way the blend modes work in 2023!) I added in the 2 boats, seagulls and sprinkles. Another interesting day with 2023 and a full reinstall - and now thankfully everything seems fine again.

Well my first 'play' with 2023 did not go well - I think I overworked my pick tool as it refused to work after a couple of resizes - all it would give me was a red circle with a diagonal line through the middle. I checked and closed all open images, I ran uninstall and did a repair, reboot psp and pc ... still nothing. But now works as normal on other images just not my day 1 project. I am sharing lunch with a friend who prefers her sandwich in quarters, we have a pie and cream for dessert.

Having just got a new pc - and one that will finally load 2023, (for some reason I was not able to load 2023 on my pc or laptop - and Corel not able to help) so I thought this Boot Camp will be a good way to set it up and play with it, it is also my 5th Boot camp. I was able to get Windows 10 but keep getting messages to upgrade to 11 - not sure how it will work with plugins etc. Being a new PC and program I need to decide what to copy over. I also downloaded 2020 so I can use my plugins/filters. I prefer the dark workspace and have only added a couple of my favourites to the toolbar and the layers pallet so far. I hope to display a Gordon River cruise to Sarah Island in Tasmania. The sign says - Tasmania's oldest and most remote convict settlement. ...a place of security, for the restraint of the most incorrigible ..

Thanks for a very interesting workshop Carole - a lot more practice is required to master some of these shadows but hopefully in time and maybe with a new mouse I will get there.

Day 5 is a miss for me - I have tried but my mouse refused to co operate - fortunately, I rarely use ribbons and at least I have good notes now on what to do should I need to shadow them. Day 6 was easier and it is logical but oh boy, I needed to concentrate without interruptions. I don't generally use clusters but it is nice to learn how best to shadow and showcase them.

I think I need a new mouse/mouse pad or maybe just steadier hands! I like how manipulating the shadow creates a more realistic effect - BUT - being able to move them to good effect is the tricky bit! @Susan Ewart We do have wombats but not many in my area - being nocturnal unfortunately we mainly see them as roadkill :(.

Driving home today through the bush with all the wattle out reminded me of some 'tiles' I had experimented with many years ago (2006). Using a wattle photo I had taken I played around with different effects making small tiles (300x300px) - plaid, antique, enamel, fur, illumination, brush strokes, tiles, soft plastic straw, weave, wave, polished stone etc. These tiles are what I have used here. The shadow settings are those suggested in the tutorial. I have these all saved as presets from the Basic Scrap course and are pretty much my go to shadow settings.

Hope this is being posted in the right place! Day 1 - not yet finalised but it was very frustrating - using 2020 - I watched pixel x pixel load on every selection I made it was unbelievable!! I could have almost grown the wild flowers while I was waiting!! So I changed to 2022 for Day 2 and it was so much faster. Day 2 - I made a few different plaids but all seemed 'too much' so I added a photo as a break but still showing a plaid.

I just clicked on the "Here" above to have a look at the Gallery and I got an "Oops that page can't be found" - maybe it is just me or my pc ?
