  1. Here: @Cassel I must be blind because I cannot see where to find the above window. I have gone to the Rectangle Tool and that options tool bar does not appear. I have tried a few other layers and I cannot get this to appear. Sorry but what am I doing wrong? Do you have the layer active? If you want to add a different Adjustment layer, it will be created above the active layer and will affect all the layers below it. Of course, if it is the bottom layer, it is ok, but otherwise, it would need to be GROUPED with the layer itself (we did that in the lesson to change the color of the text). Then, additional Adjustment layers can be added in the same group if they are to apply to the same layer. In fact, Adjustment layers work in Affinity pretty much the same way as in PSP. @CasselI have tried to Group each of the layers that I wanted the adjustments done, and no luck - both of the layers have the same changes on them. I have just tried selecting all of one of the groups and then selecting Adjustment again and I think it is working this time. I feel I must be doing it wrong because it ends up with 2 adjustment layers under each of the Groups. It is working but there must be an easier way, maybe? Thank you for your help Carole.
  2. Day 7 using Affinity. I do like using Affinity but so many things are different, especially with adjustments etc. I know it is probably me because want to go to the same places as PSP. I have to realize that it is not PSP it is Affinity.
  3. @Cassel I can't find where to see "Current Layer & Below" or "Current Layer". Where can I find that please? When I created the frame on the four-part page I did copy the smaller rectangle to this page and then resized it. If I want to adjust the Brightness/Contrast on a particular layer I have found where to go to the Adjustments icon, and adjust there as required. That worked out fine for that layer. I am now trying to do another Adjustment to a second layer and what I seem to be getting is the same adjustment on both layers even though I want a different adjustment to each of the layers. What am I missing there?
  4. Day 7 using PSP. My 2-page project. Used one of the previous pages and then another new page to match. The fun and life our little Bundy Boy gave us.
  5. Day 6 Using PSP. I am a bit late, but I have finally completed the Affinity and the PSP Day 6. I wanted to try both software for this workshop because it is so new to me, and probably all of us. I have enjoyed doing this so far. Carole, I have to say, you are a marvel because you have so much knowledge and I wonder how you can remember it all. I am amazed at how you know what menus to use and how you find your way around all these options. Thank you from me.
  6. Day 6 using Affinity. This was fun. I still believe Affinity is easier to use with Templates. I tried to do an outside border again, and I did manage to get the color I wanted but for some reason, it was wider on the right borders than the top borders. I could not find where to adjust this.
  7. Day 5 Using Affinity. Finally got to do this. I found the Templates were easier to adjust than PSP. As said in the beginning - some good, some not so good. We need to be able to combine them both. I still have not been able to change the color of the blue border. I did copy it from the prior template but there must be a way to change the border color.
  8. Day 5. Using PSP. We have so many photos of Bundy sleeping or resting. He took over the house and we loved it. I took a bit of time breaking up the template into two smaller photos at the top. I have never done this before and made a few errors along the way but, I think I eventually got it.
  9. Day 4. Using Affinity. Again Bundy as my feature. He loves going for his walks and loves his friends. His very good friend is Ted E.
  10. Day 4. Using PSP for pages 3 and 4. Once again Bundy is my feature. This time he is out walking, one of his favorite pastimes. He loved to meet all the local people and of course, their very loved fur babies. They all would have so much fun together. One of his favorite friends was Mister TedE, my girlfriend's dog. Just an update on my husband. He came home from hospital this morning, and we are all very happy that he is back home again. He is still in pain but that is expected. Now is the time for him to recover.
  11. Day 3 with Affinity. Love this photo of Bundy playing with his Kong. He loved to play with all his toys whereas our other fur baby would prefer to sit with us. She is not a very active dog. As I said before with PSP I am not very good with Text. I am not sure yet whether I prefer Affinity or PSP when it comes to using text. Time will tell.
  12. Day 3 using PSP again. As you can see, we loved our little fur baby Bundy. I just wish I was a far better photographer because I could have had so many more photos of this darling little boy. I am enjoying being able to use text because it has always been one of my weak spots. I try to take advantage of anything that will teach me more about using text.
  13. Now the Affinity version of Day 2. Our Cute Puppy Bundy Boy.
  14. @Cassel you are so right about the blue frame. It looks so much better this way.
  15. Day 2. PSP again with our cute little Bundy bog. We already had a gorgeous little white fur baby when my husband decided that he wanted a second dog, but this time a darker color. When I saw Bundy, I fell in love with him. I knew that my husband would too. He had the most amazing nature and everyone that came in contact with him, fell in love with him. He gave us so much joy during his time with us.
  16. I decided to use Affinity for this Cover page to give it a try. Still finding my way around. I wanted to change the burgundy color around the photos of Bundy but could not get the Color Picker Tool to do what I wanted it to do. As I said - still learning.
  17. @Corrie Kinkel @Susan Ewart Thank you to you all for your well wishes for my husband's recovery. We are praying that all will be a good result this time.
  18. @Cristina Thank you for your well wishes. We are praying that this time it will be a success.
  19. @Margo Ahern I love Corgi dogs. We had a beautiful little girl, and her name was Bubbles. We named her that because she looked like a little bubble when she was a puppy. She had her in our life for 17 wonderful years. Your dogs look beautiful.
  20. Decided to use PSP for this cover. I hope to use Affinity for some of the magazine pages. My time is a little short at the moment because my husband is back in hospital again having another operation. This is due to his fall from the ceiling almost 5 months ago. It has not been a good time for either one of us but never mind, I enjoy my spare time playing with my photo programs. This cover is of one of my beautiful little fur babies. Such a little joy he was in our life.
  21. Project #5. Love this photo of my grandson and his friend Max. Still very slow at attempting to do these projects but I am getting there and learning along the way. The only problem is that end up forgetting what I have just learnt. Well, I guess I will have to redo things until I can eventually remember. Hard task for me.
  22. @Cassel I have finally found out how to select multiple layers when using FX. I needed to add the plus sign to the right of Outer Shadow, when I did this, it opened up the Layer Effects that were missing before. I now feel relieved.
  23. Project 4 completed. I have finally found out how to select multiple layers with FX then clicking CTRL and processing the same effects for all layers. I needed to click the plus sign to the right of the Outer Shadow. Once I did that the required effects showed on the right. I am very excited that I have finally found out how to do that. I still have so much to learn and after watching this last tutorial by Carole I realize how much she knows. Thank goodness for her help. The three photos on this project are very old. My eldest daughter is now almost 60, so yes, very old. It was wonderful being able to bring them back to life again.
  24. Project #3. This one I did find hard because the photos I wanted to use were rectangular. It was difficult to align these. I tried so many different ways before I finally got one that looked ok. I am still having problems trying to use the FX on multiple layers using the same effects. I do not get the same effect options as Carole. I will keep trying because obviously I am doing something incorrect. I am definitely finding my way around Affinity Photo 2 now, but I still have a lot to learn. I am finding some things better in Affinity but at the same time, somethings better in PSP.
