I have used KeePass (free) for many years. Same idea as LastPass, only one p'word to remember. I also have a portable version on a USB so I can take it with me.

I have been using a password manager for many years now, RoboForm, it is certainly a huge help for me as my memory is not as good as it was.

I've been sick the last few days so I haven't been able to participate. Hopefully, I'll do the workshop when I recover. Darn, I hate being sick.

Take care, Michelle, get well quickly

  3. Day 3 Leaf.
Finally, I got this one done!
It was an interesting project. I had a hell of a time with nodes, yet managed to get through.
I am so thrilled to be in this group learning about vectors.

Wow, Jeni, those are awesome. They immediately make vectors more interesting to me. I think my fav is Autumn Shades.

Thank you, Ann, that really is a lovely boost to my confidence, I've avoided vectors like the plague, and, on seeing what others were doing, I felt I needed to up my game somewhat.  I spent hours during the night thinking about how to create labels, and when I tried to do what I had in mind, it didn't work, so I went with outlines.
The banners just came to me as I was creating them.
I should have mentioned I used Jessica Dunn's damask papers from her Good Old Days kit, her teal paper on the blue banner, and her lime paper on the green banner. I then blended them, I think I used multiply for the blue banner and luminance legacy on the lime one.

  5. Oh my goodness, some of these vectors look so good.
Mine are simple, this topic freaks me out!
I'm happy with my first vectors, I hope they are okay. I saved them as .pspshapes, I need to build up my preset shapes library.

Carole has a script that will the name of each layer into the image information. I use it to keep a record of the various kits I use on my layouts. I do have to add the name of the fonts used after the script runs though since it only reads the name of the layers.

Although, the script doesn't always run as it should in both 2021 and 2023. I still have X8 and the script runs perfectly in that version. So once I've saved the pspimage file, I open it in X8 to run the script then save the jpg (sometimes in X8, sometimes in 2023).

Thanks, Rene, I will have to look into that. Is that the CreditListCompilation script?

Thank you very much Jeni, I thought "romantically" in your scrap description was a description, not a font name, sorry.

and your newest card are very elegant. I have a scrap from Chinatown too in my DS-Gallery.

Thank you, Doska for your comments. I'm glad to help with naming that font, no apology is required. I'm trying to remember what fonts I use, and I might have to name layers using font names. I have a few fonts with names ending in 'free for personal'.
Your Chinatown scrap is great, Doska, you used an unusual 'frame' for your photograph, I love it.

  8. Extra card 6.
I chose a paper by Jessica Dunn from Digital Scrapbook called Cornflowers & Cows striped paper.
The photograph was taken many years ago in San Francisco's Chinatown.
The font is Chinthia White from Creative Fabrica.

  9. Card 5 extra.
Background used is from Annette Marie from Digital Scrapbook.
Font is Cambria, it comes already installed.
Seals are local entities, they can be a nuisance sleeping beside the road near beaches. We have to be careful they don't wander.

  10. The extra card for Card 4.

We have a beautiful lighthouse on the south coast, about a half hour away and we often see sea lions either on the beach, or come up to the dunes in front of the lighthouse to sleep the day away. I have almost fallen over them, they hide in the long tussocks.
I have used Lemon Milk and Liorah BT for this card. The quote is by Rumi.
The ribbon is from Janet Kemp at Digital Scrapbook and I did alter the colour to fit.

What's the name of your pretty font?

Hi Doska, it is a favourite script font of mine, Romantically Free for personal, and is by Mais Fontes. It is available free at cufonfonts.com.

These cards are just amazing! As usual, when I sign up for a workshop I immediately get a heavy workload. But I did get three cards so far. I can't believe what I have learned in just these three projects!

I so agree with you, Dee. If I don't manage to get everything done, I can still complete the cards anyway.

@Jeni Simpson I LOVE that font you chose!

Thank you, Carole, I was delighted at how it looked, it is such a clean and good-looking font. Tup Wanders, from the Netherlands, created the font and it is available for free on a few font sites, eg, Da Font, Font Squirrel, Font Space, 1001 Fonts, and possibly others.

  14. Card 7, at last.
I wanted this card to be softer and more feminine than others I have completed.
I chose a photograph I took many years ago of a rose bush, although just the roses, I wanted a bouquet-ish look.
The ribbon comes from Melo Vrijhof of Digital Scrapbook. This was colourised to match the lemon coloured rose at the bottom of the photograph, using Adjust > Hue and Saturation > Hue Map, something I had never noticed before, thank you, Carole.
The font I used is one of my favourites, Romantically Free for personal by maisfontes. I angled it to fit in line with the ribbon without having to reduce to too small a size, and, I think, it works on the angle.

  15. Card 6 at last.
I found this beautiful tube of ships at sea and thought of all my ancestors who travelled to New Zealand from various ports around the world, so thought to wish them all Bon Voyage on their 2-3 month journeys.
I used a font I have always loved, Papyrus. It has been around forever, and I love the beauty of this font.
I added a light drop shadow to the ellipse of the image because it was a soft tube.

  16. I am still not caught up, here is Card 5. I will keep going until I finish them all.
I'm enjoying the learning, thank you, Carole.
The font is Brewsky, a fun font that I wanted to try. I have used Brewsky along with Helvetica.

  17. I have finally completed the extra card for Card 2.
I used a quote by Lao Tzu using the font, Carlotta and a globe sticker by Janet Kemp and created it as a postcard.
The tube is by Kamil. Thank you Louyse for reminding me of her tubes.

  18. Card 4
I chose a quote from a page of Hallmark quotes.
The fonts are Coral and Garamond for writing the quote.
The tube came from a tuber whose work I enjoy, Riet does tubes from interesting and quirky images.
I loved the hearts along the ribbon layer, so I created my own.

Very beautiful photos.  I love to see birds from other parts of the world.  The Magpies here are quite different.  How luck to Cockatoos in the wild, I cant even imagine how cool that would be to see.

Susan, thank you so much. Years ago, when living in Australia, I saw a tree in the distance. It looked like a white magnolia, and the closer I got, the flowers seemed to be less. The tree was full of cockatoos, and they were flying away from that tree! That was the first time I saw cockatoos in the wild. Billy isn't allowed outside and, instead, he flies around the house.

I enjoy capturing birds, especially when I get them up close.
Maggie, the magpie, on the right was busy singing Happy Birthday when I sneaked up and took this pic.
The middle bird is a pāpango, or Scaup, a diving duck, and is native to New Zealand.
Billy, on the left, is an Australian, a Cockatoo, he loves roaming free, and befriending people.
I chose to colour the font, Garamond, in shades of orange, the opposite colour on the colour wheel from green.
I made the polka dot papers and the feathers came from an exchange in my one of my graphics groups.

@Jeni Simpson Although I am usually picky about shadowing, in cards, it can be fine to not have any, and your card illustrates this very well. On the other hand, the shadow on the four squares creates the illusion of a window and it is very appropriate. And by the way, even though you get two templates per day, you don't HAVE to make them both if you have less time!

I am blown away by all the different results we can see while starting with the same templates and the same tutorials. Keep it up. Maybe we'll need to open a boutique! 😉

Thank you, Carole. With the card with the four squares, I used 3D Effects > Cutout with the idea a window could be cut out of the card and a photograph placed behind.
Doing the two templates per day, gives me the opportunity to play a bit more, and to try to think creatively on two templates not just one.

I, too, am blown away at the ideas and the creativity of this group.  Thanks everyone.

It must have been an amazing experience being there for a month...we went on a cruise and stayed in the sound all day and it felt like being on a movie set...those walls up each side of the sound are like nothing I've ever seen before...huge vertical cliffs...

Even some of the huge cruise ships get dwarfed in Milford Sound.
I do feel grateful for the beauty surrounding me, I have Milford and Doubtful Sounds available to travel to, as well as Stewart Island and the Catlins, all within a couple of hours.
You are also lucky to live in a beautiful country. I have spent time in Melbourne, and lived in Sydney for six years.
Australia is my home away from home. I was travelling back to Australia, for the Tamworth Country Music Festival, although not able to do so for a while.
