  1. @Cassel I tried one more time to edit my text. I printed out the article you suggested and read through it. I've done lots of text wrapping in word documents, so it was a familiar concept. I went into my page and, for whatever reason, I was able to select the text! I enlarged it to the next number and the last line went slightly off the pink paper. No problem, I used my pick tool to enlarge the pink paper just enough. All was great. Saved as psp image, then saved as jpg. Then I resized the jpg to 600 x 600...and the text immediately disappeared, hahaha. So, please take my word for it that it looks great, all neat and in place, and since I will print it at the original size, I'm happy with it. And honestly, looking forward to practicing with more text wrapping until I get this down. (Just not today for Project 5.) Thanks to everyone who sent me hints and advice!
  2. Okay, I just read about text on a separate page and I'm diving in!
  3. I am still going back and try to fix the text. I've deleted, re-do, deleted, redo, deleted, redo. The text just won't select. So, now it's time for the Need Help click, haha.
  4. Project 5 I was both happier and more frustrated with this project than any of the others: happier because I remembered so many of the initial steps without repeat watching of the video and frustrated because I just could not get that journaling text to behave. I wanted to enlarge it just a bit more but finally gave up and left it after so many tries of at least getting it within the selection and the right color font. The project itself is very special to me, as is this young lady. She was our first grandchild--and for the next 13 years our only granddaughter, as 6 grandsons were added to our family. Then in 2021, we were blessed with our second granddaughter--and Quinn finally got her girl cousin. Quinn is everything I said and more, so this was indeed a work of love. I've decided to print and frame and give it to her as part of her Christmas present. Oh, the 2 words at the end are We love you in French. Because her maternal grandfather is French, both Quinn and her mother were raised fluent in both French and English.
  5. I didn't know you could put a shadow on a separate layer, but I can really see the possibilities to be able to move it about. Thanks for explaining how that shadow in the photo above was done. Also, for anyone interested, Carole's Tips and Tricks book is listed on Amazon's Kindle Unlimited, for anyone who has that subscription, as is the PSP Manual. l've already downloaded both, as I always have my Kindle nearby. Thanks for letting me know about your book, Carole!
  6. Carole, I quite agree about the shadow on the flower stamp. When working on it, I kept lowering the number on the shadow, and it still didn't look right. I'll go back and take it off completely. Thank you!
  7. Thank you Jannette! I am also a "newbie/" I move between having fun and being frustrated--but by project 4, it was more fun than frustration, so that's improvement!
  8. Project 4 I have more flower beds than I can keep up with, but the flowers I plant are for the purpose of attracting and feeding butterflies, bees and hummingbirds--and most of them have to be perennials. : ) The 3 butterflies shown here (top: yellow eastern tiger swallowtail, bottom right: American painted lady, bottom left: common buckeye) are only a part of what we have fluttering around our yard, but I thought more than 3 photos would be too much. I did not include the narrow "ribbon" as I thought there was enough color already. 9. Project 3 We love the ruby throated hummingbird, which is the only one we see here in Georgia. We put up feeders all around the house, and in with some of our flowers. They become adjusted to us, and will hover near us "checking us out." They're very curious birds. They also have incredible memories and will remember what flowers and feeders they've been to in previous years, and return again the following years. 10. My oldest daughter lives in North Carolina with her family (4 boys) while both my sons (each with one girl) and youngest daughter (with 3 sons) live in Georgia, as do my husband and me. So, it is difficult for all cousins to get together. The first weekend in October, my husband and I loaded 4 of the Georgia cousins (all but our 2 yr old granddaughter) in our car and drove to N.C.; one reason to all watch our youngest grandson perform in Children's Community Theatre and the second, just to let cousins spend time together. Every time they all get together its as if they had just been together the day before. They are all great friends. We took the opportunity to get a photo with the 8-out-of-9 grandkids. And I am sorry, I cannot give you the information on where I got the different elements: I typed the list onto a separate word document to save--and then I mistakenly deleted it. I will do better next time.
  11. One of the prettiest birds that graced our yard this summer was the indigo bunting. I was lucky to be out with my camera (okay, I confess, I spent a lot of days out with my camera) when this boy came into my yard. I was hoping to catch him on his migration journey to winter somewhere south between Georgia and northern South America, but so far no sighting.
  12. Hi Barbara, I'm in the same boat--stumbling my way around. However, this is a great photo, so I feel you have a shorter learning curve than you think!
  13. Hello from a rainy, chilly Georgia! I'm so looking forward to learning better use of my PSP. I'm a retired teacher and have had a camera since I was a kid. This year, though, I decided to concentrate on birds in my backyard. My oldest daughter asked me to create a 2024 calendar, using some of my photos, so what you will see from me is a bunch of bird photos. I'll start with one of an indigo bunting I took when he stopped to rest--and eat--this spring on his migration journey.
