and here is Day 7. I created 2 new pages instead of one to go with one I had already done. I had run out of photos from the Immigration Museum at Cobh, so this one is of Kylemore Abbey. This has been a fabulous workshop, thanks heaps @Cassel. It's made me want to go through my thousands of photos and do something different with them.

I'm getting caught up. Here is my Day 5 and Day 6 pages. For day 5 I split the single template into 4, 2 landscape and 2 portrait, I always like these type of grid pages. For Day 6 I struggled finding an image that would fit, so I've cheated here and used the same image twice but cut out the middle bit. I'm about to watch the Day 7 video now.

I've had a busy couple of days, life has intervened! Big family party last night for our granddaughter Tilda who turned 18. So, I've done Day 4 using photos from the photobooth last night.

Had some time this afternoon to do another one, so here is my Day 3 on the Immigration theme. I'm not sure I like the split colour of the title, maybe I just haven't got it in the right position. But it's a great thing to learn.

Here is a quick day 3 page. With all the talk about Coober Pedy I couldn't resist going through my photos. We visited Coober Pedy in August 2008 on our way home from a trip to the Red Centre. So, here is the Underground Catholic Church. Lots of houses are underground, it is fascinating, if the family grows, you can just dig out another room! Later today I'll do another page on my Immigration theme.

@Euka and @Susan Ewart I've been to Coober Pedy. It is a really interesting place. Not really anything like Kalgoorlie, in fact I don't think it's like any other place I've ever seen. We were in our caravan, and at the caravan park we had to pay for showers. And to fill up our tanks we had to pay for water. And the houses are underground, and the temperature underground was so cool, it was sweltering on the ground level, but in the houses underground the temp was amazingly comfortable. The landscape outside was like what you would expect to see on the moon.

@Euka love your page, but you've missed out the r in Kalgoorlie on the cover. The super pit is amazing isn't it. We were there in 2000 when a blast happened, that was an amazing sight to see.

Here is my Day 2. I think I'll stick with Immigration, although I'm leaning towards changing the size of the document. I thought it might be cool to actually get my magazine printed, and I checked Lulu publishing and they do print an A4 magazine, so I just might end up changing to that size. But, I'll still do the templates as Carole does them, it's all a good learning curve. It's nice to actually do something different with the photos.

I'm doing this workshop in Affinity. I decided to use some photos of my trip to Ireland in September 2023, so while I really have no idea of exactly what theme I will use, I am using this as a starting point. So, at this stage, I think my theme will be Immigration, but who knows if that will change or not.

I actually think I like Affinity Photo better than paint shop pro. I've really enjoyed learning how to use it. I bought the whole Affinity Suite when Version 2 first came out, and up till now had really only used Photo to edit some pdf documents and forms for family history. But, I think I'll use it for a lot more now, so many thanks Carole. As always I enjoy your lessons. This is my granddaughter Bella, photos of her are always lovely, she has definitely perfected the art of selfies, as most girls her age have!

Well I've done another layout, felt I had to do it again to reinforce the learning. I'm not used to using a lot of embellishments, and feel that this might be a bit over the top!

Here is todays layout. I like learning all the new things, most of which I had forgotten from doing the PSP bootcamps! And once again I struggle with finding the right papers to match my project, so I waste so much time trying different ones, but as a friend said to me, it's all about learning, not perfection. This is a dear cousin of mine who sadly passed away last year 3 months after celebrating her 93rd birthday. The photos are of Estelle and my daughter who she treated like one of her own granddaughters.

My layout for project 3. A family outing last year to see Taylor Swift, they all got into the mood and dressed up. It is getting easier to find my way around Affinity, I think I've even got the colour picker working!

Here is my 2nd project. I did struggle with changing the colour on the text layer, mustn't have been trying hard enough!

As usual I spent more time selecting papers and embellishments than I did doing the layout. Really good to see how Affinity Photo works though.
