Brian Dowling Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 This family history website illustration features the Garlands Tubes #1. These are easy and look great. There is a good selection of festive tinsel here, I just selected green and white across the top and silver around the computer monitor and advent drawers. I drew lines with the pen tool and then activated the useful VectorTube script to apply the garland to the lines. I wanted paper chains for the connectors from the computer to the points on the map but couldn't find any and got into a muddle trying to make my own so, running out of time, settled for crepe which I definitely remember using at Christmas in the 60's... we seemed to stick more pins into the wall then!!! This image appears in automatic rotation on https://www.dowlingfamily.info on 21th December only each year. Other products used in this image are: Custom Calendar (for the advent drawers); Acrylic Glitter (on the card logo); Brad Factory (on the map pins); Christmas Stocking (used only as a shape for the card); Glittered Edge (on the card); Chevrons #4 (on the background, distorted with perspective). 1
