Coober Pedy is amazing. A very unique place, nothing like it anywhere that I'm aware of.

The giants came to Perth, Western Australia on 14 Feb 2015, just about 10 years to the day. The pearl diver and the girl were very impressive. My grandchildren loved them.

@Cassel I saw that yellow ribbon and wondered what I’d done. I’ll have to have another go at it.

I had to try the pinking edges again from Project #4 . This time I got it to work. What was I doing wrong before? Maybe I was holding down the ctrl key and not the shift!?!? Whatever, it worked this time. Once again choosing colours was the hard part, but I'm learning the techniques first.

@Cassel thanks for the recommendation re the book. I’ll see if it’s available to get through our library.

@Daniel HessThat’s a really sad story to read. I’ve was given a book for Christmas called, Before we were Yours by Kate Wingate. It tells of those horrific stories and was a page turner. I’m glad he found his family.

Well I'm very happy with what I've learnt from this Bootcamp with you @Cassel. It has been very informative and there are some things I know I'll go back over to try them again. Many thanks.

I can definitely see the differences between Affinity Photo V1 and the newer V2. I struggled with creating the pinking edges because the tool wouldn't erase from one edge to the next like in the video. I had to carefully erase the edge while keeping the mouse in a straight line. There’s probably an easier way to do it, but I don’t think my scrapbooking style involves using too many fancy edges. Still, it’s great to explore and learn what the software can do!

Thanks for the tips. I’ll have a play with the title. I guess if I was doing this for real I’d write a lot more about the day, but I get what you’re saying.

This project took a bit longer than expected! The glitter paper didn’t quite behave the way it was demonstrated in the video, likely because I’m using a different version. Version 2 seems to be much simpler, but I managed to work it out in the end. The glitter might not perfectly match these photos, but I’d already picked out a few to practise with, so I stuck with them. Really enjoying learning how to use Affinity Photo. Thanks.

@Cassel Re: The file size should be under 300kb when you save. Do you see that in the Export window? You can reduce the quality until it reaches that threshold. If you are in Tasmania, maybe I'll connect with you as I am trying to reach for an old penpal I had in the 70's. I am pretty sure I found her, but I can't REACH her. 🙂 I didn’t see that but I’ll have another look. No, I’m not is Tasmania. I’m West Oz. I might be able to help if you want to PM me.

Thanks for that. I thought the slider was at about 85%. I’ll check and see. Yes, Tasmania is a lovely state. I went there to follow my convict ancestry.

Here's my project 2 exercise. I ended up making it 400px as at 600px it said it was too big. Maybe the photo was too large.

@Cassel so far, The only difference was the setup in the first video, the preferences were in a different spot. So all good so far. I guess the only down comment I have to make is every time you bring in an element or photo, that window then needs to be closed. I’m sure I’ll get used to it. So far, it’s going well. oh and I couldn’t open your sandwich files as they were created in a later version, but I got the gist of layers.

I'm managing to keep up so far with Affinity Photo Version 1. I've used it a bit, but not for scrapbooking, so looking forward to learning. I do scrapbook but with a different software.
