Day 11 - frames. The tip I did like was, for example, using glitter and pulling it into the pattern section so you could use the floodfill tool which I did with my frames, and the text "Swinging on a Wire". I also duplicated the pink frame to make it look like the petal had flipped behind and over it. So, here is my final project. I've had fun refreshing my skills with PSP. Always good to come back to it after a long break.

Day 9 Project 4 - this was a trip to Poland that my sister and I took to meet up with my dad's family. We are here with his sister, Aunt Helena.

Day 9 - border selections. I am following the instructions to floodfill my borders white, but nothing is happening. Any ideas please? Think I solved it. I changed the match mode to opacity on the floodfill, and it worked!

Day 7 Glitters and 3 photos - still playing catch up. Here is my attempt. I must get some more accessories.

Day 3 - Project #1 - here is my Cadbury World - a trip that we took in 2022. Just playing around with the elements and shadowing.

Day 2: The Sandwich - thank you for the reminder of layers and being able to drag from one image to another some elements.

Workspace preferences: Light Grey workspace (I did have dark), untabbed pictures, I have now clicked on the classic material preference for palette, and view the ruler. I did have the ruler in inches, but changed to cm. However, mine shows the measurements in increments of 10, not up to 200 as Cassel's does. Also, I attach a photo I shall be using when we visited Cadbury's World

OK, so I am having a go at Lesson 5 from a single to multiple masks and having a problem. The first time I tried it, the top mask layer was ok, but the bottom mask didn't show up. I have tried this now about 4 times, and in each case the black fill is just not happening. After I inverted the selection on the mask, chose black, and the fill tool it looks as though nothing is being filled. I have closed PSP2020 and opened it up again in case there was a glitch, but I am still not getting the desired effect. I have also tried this technique on one of the other templates for masks in this workshop, but still have the same outcome. Can you help please.

Day 6 and I'm using PSP2020. Just playing with the photo to see what effect the masks have with it. Had to watch the video a few times to get the gist of this technique.

@Cassel I see what you mean with the cover page, the photo mask still showing. I will make the adjustment. I am using PSP2020 at the moment, not dived into the Affinity pool just yet.

Loving the background and the font.

@DianeM Hi Diane, the two colour text was simply using the selection tool rectangle and covering the lower half of the text. Pick your colour with the dropper, and then with the fill brush (looks like a bucket of paint) colour in the lower half of tbe text. It was on Carole's day 3 tutorial.

Day 4 - the two page spread. I did have a problem with the second page when I put in some text. I did the selection to change the colour to no avail. Not sure why but it wanted to stay the same colour as the accent. I moved the accent layer under the text and the black text now stood out, but again on trying to use the selection and the brightness/contrast, no joy. So I will keep it as is. A trial run at this workshop. Pleased in the main with the results and can work with the templates on another theme. I have seen some lovely work on this project, you are all very talented.

I now have my page 3 with different coloured text. Having looked back at the other postings, I too felt this needed a frame and copied it from the front cover. Nearly there.

I am a bit behind with my posting for this workshop. Here is my Day 1 Cover Page. I have chosen the Land of Lights theme. I was a pretty awesome evening with the family seeing all these marvellous creations made out of paper and lights.

I'm in. Not sure what my theme will be. Been a while since I posted anything, or used PSP, so I will feel like a newbie. This year I feel it will be a more creative year using PSP and quite fancy trying out Affinity. So we shall see. Just looked at everyone's postings, I need to catch up with my first page. Looking good everyone.

Hi Cassel, I have just been reading the comments on the Affinity trial. I missed the January bootcamp, but would like to sign up for the February one please. I would need to download the trial version nearer the time. Would I need to extend the trial version to cover this February bootcamp?

Here is my attempt at Text for Day 1. I am using PSP2021 and when I was watching the video clip and clicked away from PSP to rewind (I have two monitors), the programme "accepted" my text, and so I had to delete and start again. Used Cooper Blkoul BT, and the Tube I had was a glitter ball. Not quite what I had in mind, and of course it ended up not quite following the instructions as I had hoped, but here it is...
