  1. Hi everyone. I have done the Calendar workshop before and now give calendars to my relatives each Christmas. I don't always use the formats from the workshop, but I always learn something new that I can use in my designs.
  2. Day 11 - Project 5 I finally noticed how Cassel was opening her papers and pieces without using the organizer palette. I really like the CTRL-O (File open) option because it shows more options than you can see in the organizer palette.
  3. What I learned. Not sure I can say I learned this during this session, but I was certainly reminded of it. The use of the Magic Wand to make the frame around the photos was a feature I was looking for in my notes not that long ago. Glad I got to see it again. Thanks
  4. Here is my Project 4. I used some pictures of Weaving tools that I turned this summer. I am not a weaver, but I belong to an organization that has Woodturners, Weavers/Spinners and Gourd Artists so we cross paths quite a bit. Most of the papers I used came from DigitalScrapbook.com (formerly Pixel Scrapper).
  5. Day 7 - Project 3 On our recent trip to France we got to tour a number of places. One of them was Monet's garden in Giverny. Here are some of the many pictures we took while there. I'm getting used to the shortcut Ctrl-Y (for the drop shadow) this time. Thanks
  6. Project 2 We travelled to Paris and London this summer and this was one of the sites we visited (Royal Mews). The Royal Carriages were quite spectacular. Love to use these shortcuts, but might not remember them for long. It's lucky they are listed with the menu options. Made a few changes based on feedback from Cassel. Shifted the elements and changed to gold text. Thanks for the suggestions. PS Cassel - Regarding the Lace Spools from yesterday - No I have not made Lace, just make the spools so far. I used to Knit and Crochet, but now my time is mostly taken up by woodturning. Thanks
  7. Hi everyone, I seem to have missed the email for Monday (Day 2) but since I am a returning student I'm sure I'll make out OK. I just got a new laptop and am still getting things set up, but here is my attempt at Day 1 project 1. I am a woodturner so the picture is of some Lace Spools I was asked to make this summer.
  8. And finally Day 6.
  9. Down to the wire with these, but here are Days 3 and 4.
  10. A few more of my turnings. The darning mushroom is made from a piece of a lilac bush. You should be able to just see the purple lines in it. The sawdust smells a lot like the flowers. The pendant and earrings are made from some small pieces of tulip wood. The papers I used all came from Marisa Lerin's DigitalScrapbook.com.
  11. A little late in getting through these lessons and posting. My pictures will likely all come from the things I've turned since I may want to use some of these layouts in my advertising. Thanks for the great info. This one shows a Walnut lidded box with an inset in the top. I wish I could take credit for the inset, but I purchased the material from a retired woodturner and we didn't have time for me to learn how he put the shape together. The turning work is all mine though.
  12. Hi, Leslie here from Peterborough ON Canada. I'm not ignoring this group, but it has become a very busy week. I hope to be able to review and work on all of the calendar options on Sunday.
  13. Finally got my letter done (with partial beads and inner bevel). This has been a very educational workshop. Wish I had time to try all of the new features before I forget them. Thanks
  14. I've had a busy week, so a little bit behind. But here is my Lesson 6 attempt.
  15. Here is my new logo with text in opposite directions. Thanks.
  16. Good morning all. I wasn't able to post an update yesterday because I didn't get the email with the info for Day 5. I also don't see one yet for Day 6. Not sure what is happening, but I set my "following" preferences back to all notifications and I'm seeing everyone else's progress with envy. Thanks
  17. A little late getting started on this, but I think I've got it. Need to practice the curves a little more. Thanks for the file Carole.
  18. I didn't get the email for Day 4. I've checked my spam folders too. I did change the update notifications to once per day, but I thought that was just for this forum, not the emails from Cassel.
  19. Here is my Day 3 leaf - I think it is an Ash Leaf.
