  1. I have really enjoyed this class...I hope I can remember it later. Here is my Lesson 7 result. I found out when you convert a letter B to a path it makes one path for all 3 parts of the B. I had to cut 3 paths to get just the straight parts, but it was more practice doing it.
  2. Well, I took the entire weekend off so I didn't get to lesson 6 until this morning. Here is my Lesson 6 result - a sailboat with VectorTubes applied to the outside edges of the sails and the top edge of the boat. These paths were not enclosed since I drew 3 separate lines to make the paths.
  3. Here is a plain and simple clipart. I used a graphic file from the web and added the text per lesson 5.
  4. Great, I can now say that I have had something published! Ha!
  5. I know that sometimes there are several ways to do the same thing in PSP, but this was how I did it: 1. For the diamonds, I traced them from the original using the pen tool onto a separate vector layer (this was the only way I could think of to color (fill) them light yellow versus the original white). It took me some time to do this although it was good practice of techniques learned in early lessons. 2. For the two separate parts of the saucer, I used the rectangle tool to create each part onto two separate vector layers so I could color (fill) each one separately. This was quicker than doing the diamonds (since the shapes were simpler) and, again, gave me some more practice. If there is an easier way, I would like to know.
  6. This one was a little bit harder for me...and I used some learning from the previous modules. I didn't color the handle because I didn't have enough time...it would be done just like the saucer and diamonds though, so I think I could do it. If you look closely, you can see a few flaws on the edge of the cup where the diamonds are...again, not enough time to make it perfect. One thing I learned is when selecting nodes I hover my mouse over the center of the node until the cursor changes to a four-way arrow (like when you are moving an object) and then left click to select the node. It worked every time. All you pros just keep posting your results because I learn from just looking at how you put your ideas into the graphic. Also, you can chuckle a little at my lack of artistic abilities (like the color combinations I choose, etc.).
  7. Well, I must say, there are a bunch of talented people in this class. To everyone, I enjoy looking at what you create! Lessons I have learned so far: 1. Go at your own speed - mine is slow. 2. The only way to get better is to practice - practice - practice ( I wish I had more time). My wish is that one day I can be as good as y'all. Here is my Lesson 3 result...a fantasy leaf with LSU colors. Geaux Tigers
  8. I had fun playing around with this! I used several layers to create my heart and arrow. The biggest problem I had was how to switch layers and then select the vector graphic so that the nodes were active. Looking forward to the upcoming vector classes.
