  1. I've just had a play with Template 5 and made the 4 photos into portrait. I am having fun with this workshop.
  2. And here is Day 6. The blend mode I used for the pink paper was Passthrough. I rather like it. It's so good to learn these things that I would never have stumbled across on my own. And it's fabulous to learn about the reverse shadow. I used that a lot with PSP and now it's great to be able to do it in Affinity. As always, we learn so much with Carole's workshops.
  3. @fiona cook the stars are an embellishment that I found, and I just placed it between the layers. As Carole has now pointed out, I need to move the stars on top of the stitching layer though.
  4. I just had another go at Template 4. I found these old photos from when we visited Australia Zoo just before Christmas 2003. We were very lucky to see Steve there that day. Sadly we'll never get to see him again.
  5. And I'm caught up now, here is Template 5. I think I'll redo this one, I like to have more space taken up with photos so I'll probably have a play with it, but it's always good to follow along with the lesson.
  6. @Euka I ended up opening the PSP image in Paint Shop Pro and saved it as a PSD, that worked.
  7. @Cassel I've just tried to download Template 5 for Affinity, and the file seems to be the PSP file, not PSD.
  8. Here is Day 4. I'm enjoying learning new things in Affinity.
  9. Here is my day 3. In Roma, western Queensland, each June they have a competition called Sculptures Outback where people use recycled metal to make fabulous sculptures. This one2 cockatoos is made of old windmill blades for the crest, corrugated iron for the wings, rusted chequer plate for the back and other bits and pieces of recycled metal. It's always a fabulous display and the overall winner each year is acquired and remains in the park on the highway as you drive into Roma. There are some amazing sculptures there now after the competition has been running for several years.
  10. and Day 2 - I struggled with this one trying to find suitable papers. That is always my problem, I waste far too much time trying to find the right ones. This is my granddaughter Bella, she loves posing for photos.
  11. Here is my Day 1 . I used the Coffee Break kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs and the font is AR Delaney
  12. and here is Day 7. I created 2 new pages instead of one to go with one I had already done. I had run out of photos from the Immigration Museum at Cobh, so this one is of Kylemore Abbey. This has been a fabulous workshop, thanks heaps @Cassel. It's made me want to go through my thousands of photos and do something different with them.
  13. I'm getting caught up. Here is my Day 5 and Day 6 pages. For day 5 I split the single template into 4, 2 landscape and 2 portrait, I always like these type of grid pages. For Day 6 I struggled finding an image that would fit, so I've cheated here and used the same image twice but cut out the middle bit. I'm about to watch the Day 7 video now.
  14. I've had a busy couple of days, life has intervened! Big family party last night for our granddaughter Tilda who turned 18. So, I've done Day 4 using photos from the photobooth last night.
  15. Had some time this afternoon to do another one, so here is my Day 3 on the Immigration theme. I'm not sure I like the split colour of the title, maybe I just haven't got it in the right position. But it's a great thing to learn.
