We have been living and traveling in our Motorhome this year. We are now in North Carolina on the coast. I am spotlighting a few of the picture I took yesterday on the beach! I have been admiring many of the quick pages in the forum! So, I took the opportunity to change my background color on the template with the color changer tool, and I added a title. I loved Pirkko’s baby duck, and Susan’s Tackle Box!

This is my second Quick Page. We had a lot of fun with our grand-niece at the Indiana Dunes last summer!

She was such an inspiration, and I will miss seeing her post in the forum. RIP Annie.

Here is my first quick page. This is my granddaughter when she was little, trying to figure out a kitestring.

Lynda, I love your Linoleum. The colors are stunning against the browns of the desert and RV. Hank your band pic is awesome. Mary, I like the soft purples in your Grand Canyon.

Here is my Day 5. it is my second attempt. (I ditched the first one, and started fresh with a brand new photo) This is an early morning photo of the lake. When we get up in the morning,  grab some coffee, open the blinds, and sit looking out the window.  This particular morning the sun was shining, and the water on the lake looked almost white. So, I got dressed and went outside, and snapped a few quick pictures.

I had the same problem on the plaid mask. What I ended up doing was to redo the main mask. When I created the second mask, I notice the opacity on the layer was set at 88% I changed it to 100. Also I made sure that the mask area was black instead of gray.

My second attempt was not transparent.

This is my day 4.  I am a southern gal. This winter has been my first opportunity (in a very long time) to experience a lot of snow.

Once I saw my design in a smaller size, I thought it was too overall dark. I replaced my inside black frame with a white one.

We are wintering at an Indiana lake this year, and there are Canadian Geese that call this little lake their winter home. A few weeks ago I noticed a solitary set of goose tracks on the frozen, snowy lake. I didn’t find a Kalidescope pattern I really liked for this picture, so I tried using ‘Pattern’ instead.

Last year, this was my first experience with PSP. I have developed a love of mask, and look forward to improving my skills.

This is my second attempt at project 4. It is much better than the first time. Thanks for the suggestions and the picture tube Carole!

Thank you Carole! I looked at the blog and I love the hay bale! I scoured pixel scrapper looking for inspiration for this one. I tried a couple of elements from there and they just didn’t work. I think the hay bales will be awesome! I am going to rework the design today. One of the things I dislike about the current one is that my analogous colors make this one look very lifeless. So, I am going to use some complimentary colors in my design as well.

Here is my project four? (Busy Bees) It is not my favorite thing that I have ever done, but here it is. I am not even sure why I don’t like it. I like the layout, but nothing else about it. I tried a lot of different color combinations but nothing made it better.

    Susan

That is an awesome technique for photographing nature. I love taking and looking at close up photos of flowers, leaves, bugs, you name it. If it is outside and beautiful, it’s probably going to fall prey to my camera!

I too, try to always make the photos in my design the focal point. If a patterned paper is too strong and tries to overpower everything else in my design, I try layering a solid color background under it and reducing the opacity on the patterned paper until it tones down just enough to be interesting but not overpowering.

Connie, when I go in search of borrowed Elements and Papers, I usually open up my photo or photos I want to use first and then I go and search out borrowed supplies that will complement my photos . I hope this helps.

Thanks Susan! Yes, my title font is filled with a photo I took of a pile of fallen leaves in the grocery store parking lot. I would love to see your in studio pictures of fall leaves. Perhaps you could create a scrapbook page with one of the photos?

Here is my Project 3 Layout. Fall is one of my most favorite times of the year.  My husband Joe and I enjoy hiking in a wildlife preserve near where we are staying. The leaves are just beginning to turn, and I can not wait for even more Fall beauty!

I created all of my papers and the sunflowers came from Pixel Scrapper.

Just finished with Project two. I have started experimenting with creating my own paper. The butterfly was downloaded from pixelscrapper.

This is a picture of my Grand-nieces’ first trip to the beach. I didn’t realize that Lake Michigan at Indiana Dunes looked so much like the ocean! It was a really fun trip.

This is another design from the Love Challenge. I’m not sure I did everything 100% correctly, but it turned out ok.

This is an Element I made in the Basic Scrap Course. It was my first element! I think it was Module 5?
