  1. Day 1 The first font I used (Swiss721 BlkCnBT Bold) didn't work too well as the fill part was too condensed so I expanded the fill but it then spilled out around the outline on some letters. I then tried in Arial Black ( a safe bet) but had to reduce the kerning a bit. I used X3 Stars for my Picture Tube. It helped laying a Guide Line at the top level where I wanted the stars to appear and then filling downwards. As far as a project goes to apply the effect, I am thinking of a greetings card for my niece in Africa who is about to graduate.

  2. I had to resize this down from the original 1000px and 150 resolution, so it looks kinda choppy but it was a fun exercise!

  3. @ Ann I have changed the font to Arial, so I hope you can read in now! I'll post it in the Facebook group too, so maybe it is better readable there.

  7. I had started the Detroit page a couple of days ago in order to see the effect of the 3D mask that I made from a Canva graphic and also because all the talk of the bridge to Windsor reminded me of all the times that we have crossed that bridge. The photo is mine taken from our Windsor Casino window. The patterns in the font are from Canva. The car is one that I made after the Vector Workshop and, both of the mask shapes are from Adobe Express. The record was made many years ago in Photoshop. I changed the color and added "Platinum Record Motown." However, the letters on the record are not very visible. The fonts are both from Creative Fabrica - Banner and Type and Write. We will be crossing the Ambassador Bridge on November 27 since we will be spending Thanksgiving at the Casino.

  10. I would have loved to see that. I love the old Poirot movies (from the UK with David Suchet), such cool decor.

  13. Very attractive, Julie. May I ask what size canvas you started with; the proportions here are unusual, but excellent for a horizontal photo. Are you still using aA's supplies? I have yet to tackle unzipping her huge bundle! LOL

  15. well, it's Gov. Andrew, the son, not Gov. Mario, who has a taint. Mario was quite popular and retired with his reputation intact. Andrew's problem is that he was raised in an expressive Mediterranean culture that is normally "handsy" with everyone, male or female. Then he ran afoul of the first Trump administration and how Covid was handled. He seems to be rehabilitating his reputation now but, you're right, there is a taint to the Cuomo name but not to the governor the bridge is now named for. Andrew proved to be accessible for our business in the early days of tough rules to avoid exposure but we were able to convince him that there was little chance of exposure sitting in your own car, watching a movie at our drive-in theater. Meanwhile, all other public venues had to close. We were able to get open by May of that year. Normally we open at Easter.

  16. I did another layout for cemeteries. This one is an early settler burial ground for those early folks who lived along the Thames River in the area of Chatham, Ontario. In 1959, many of the markers had been vandalized or had fallen into the river. So an effort was made to retrieve and rehabilitate them and place them in a row. That's how they stand today. Ontario history of settlement is not that early, 18th or 19th century. Not like Europe or elsewhere. This cemetery is named for an early family who donated land for burials, as was the custom back then.

  17. Jannette, I hope you husband rallies and improves. Corrie is right, even if you just pop in the look at what people will doing. Don't forget about looking after your own needs too, to keep you strong at this very stressful time.

  18. I think it might be a ice tea container perhaps. the silver thing in the middle is like metal flask that has a screw top. I imagined it to be filled with ice. Can you imagine seeing water and lemons floating around in it. Of course I'd never drink from these older metal tea pots, sugar and creamer as they are full of lead I've read. They make great photo props though. I'm still surprised I havent dropped and broken it yet.

  19. A couple of weeks ago I came along this plant and with the sun on the silvery seedpods the seeds were shining through. I used all the elements in the DIY image but I rearranged them to my liking. Three of the rectangles have a part of the same photo and the fourth has the text about this Honesty or Judaspenning in Dutch. As it is about silver. I colored the leaves in silver with some noise. For a decoration on the 4th rectangle I used cass-Decostitches3 which I was very lucky to win but hadn't used yet due to working on my calendars. The font for the text is Franklin Gothic Book and the background is again made by using some of Anna Aspness goodies. There are some seeds scattered on the background and those are by Sheila Reid.

  24. I'm so sorry to read this, Jannette. At my age, I'm aware that dementia is one of the big fears of aging. Please be kind to yourself as caregiving is very taxing. My husband suffered mini- strokes that gave him some of the same symptoms. I am convinced that nursing homes are best equipped to care for these patients. That is where my Frank ended his days back in 2018. Even with him having 24-hour professional care it was still very stressful for me. Take care.

  26. We have a name in my city that is going to be changed. I think people will always call it by it's original name. Maybe we should be keeping the name so we can be reminded to not do what was done back in history. Or we might really be doomed to repeat it. If you sweep it under the rug, will people just forget what happened? My husband always says, managers only remember what you did in the last week (good or bad) and that that's how they think of you. And in my job, that seems to be the case.

  28. I like this idea to document a whole month, maybe I am going to do this after the P52 challenge because once I have done a whole year I don't want to do the next year as well. There would be much of the same to document and that doesn't appeal to me. I am lucky in a way that in our family we don't have people dying in december, just the opposite my 2 granddaughters are both born in december; one before and the other after Christmas. August is a month of remembrance for me because my mother and father both died in august only 26 years in between; besides that some of my in-laws died during that month as well.

  34. Our New York State governor at the time the bridge was updated was Andrew Cuomo and his father, Mario, was a 3-time governor and well-known in politics. The bridge was re-named for Mario, but there's a lot of push-back as many liked the old name and disliked Mario. Photo is a drone photo of the Mario Cuomo Bridge over the Hudson River between Nyack and Tarrytown July 26, 2019, Peter Carl and John Meore/The Journal News.

  37. I couldn't resist. This is my favorite of the AI pictures I did of that Caboose Lake photo. Used Cass' Shaped Text script on the Bahira text, which I had duplicated and inner bevelled. I added shadows to all.

  39. I've met people from all over the country through these retreats. The ones I went to were all organized by different people that were members of a scrapping forum. It sort of started when people in the same area would get together and evolved into much larger gatherings. I was a paper scrapper when I first went but became digital not long after. I've been to retreats in several different states along with the one in Ingersoll. A lot of the ScrapShare (the forum that is now defunct) retreats are no longer being held but some still are on a smaller scale. One of my friends from there still goes to retreats several times a year. In fact, she was at one 9 days ago when her husband passed away unexpectedly.
