  1. I'll post the rest of my calendar in this forum. October - both sets. The Halloween picture is from CF of course - a watercolor. The photo was taken by me in 2020 at an RV camp in Alabama.

  2. This is a scraplift. When I saw the layout, it just spoke to me and expressed some of the losses I've felt over the last couple of years. I can't recall where I saw the layout, so I cannot give proper credit. It felt good to do it.

  4. Well our Santa lives on the North Pole too, but in our case that is in Lapland a geographic area in the utmost northern part of the European countries Norway, Sweden and Finnland through which the Polar circle runs. His official address is in Rovaniemi in Finnland and the postal services even deliver letters from kids addressed to Santa there.🎅

  8. Last "fall" layout for this year I suppose, even if the weather has remained remarkably warm and balmy. The pic was taken at the marina park not far from me where I sometimes walk with the doggies, if it's not too busy. Oops, I see a glitch in the frame. Not fixing it since it's going nowhere but here.

  9. I am all moved and we closed on mom's house on Friday. Not unpacked by a long stretch, but starting to get some of my craft supplies out (finished my sister's birthday card at 4:30 p before they picked me up at 5 p). Looking forward to learning how to understand some of the quirks you get when using type (just had some this project, very annoying).

  16. That is funny and very clever! Whoever did the video was talented and knows their grammar. They even mentioned the Oxford Comma which is one of my other bug-a-boos! I can't help it; I'm a word nerd.

  18. Oh my goodness!!!! When I read out your translation of the invoice to him, he was absolutely over the moon. The translation means a great deal to him. I copied and pasted it to a word document, to print off for him. On behalf of both of us, thank you ever so much for taking the time to translate it. There is another document which accompanies this invoice, which I will post, when I get it, for your to translate, if you would be so kind. Again, thank you ever so much.

  21. Sue sorry I just see your question now, but of course I can translate this for your friend. You will probably have guessed this is an invoice for 26 days of nursing costs in a hospital in Rotterdam called "Ziekenhuis aan den Coolsingel", which translate to Hospital at the Coolsingel and the Coolsingel was a street with a canal in the center of Rotterdam. It goes on with received from mister L.P. Nielsen the amount of 52 gulden (guilders) and 5 cents for 26 days of nursing costs etc in the 3rd class ward a f 2,-- a day in hospital from October 19 till November 13 1916. Nursing costs.............f 52,-- For the treasurer On the seal is the signature of the administrator and the date 13-11-1916 Charges.............seal f 0,05 the administrator ___________________________ f 52,05 However there is no mention what the treatment or illness may have been. That might mean 2 things: if he was employed somewhere (soldier, government) his employer paid the medical part of the bill or he had some kind of insurance for medical care and had only to pay for the nursing costs. But of course this is an educated guess. Hopefully this helps your friend. If there are more questions I'm most happy to help.

  25. There's a country song that says, "There's no such thing as too much fun." I agree! Just being together is fun...then add good food, ice cream, shopping, pickleball. Yep, fun, fun, fun.

  37. I'm asking for a friend, who has asked me if I knew of anyone who could translate this document. Some of you ladies immediatley came to mind. Jack is an old dear Saskatchewan friend, and it's his father who was hospitalized in Holland during WW1 in 1916 for 10 days. On behalf of Jack who would be greatly appreciative. Possibly , it says what he was being treated for.

  41. Here's my November Wild Cat Calendar featuring the Pallas Cat. They are found in Asia and are threatened as a species. Accredited zoos have breeding programs to help species in distress. Granddaughter Jackie's Nashville Zoo was recently working in Botswana with giraffes. This Pallas cat or Manul is being called the new Grumpy Cat. I posted a full size .png on our Facebook page for printing.
