  1. I think I may end up making 2 calendars. This is the January for the 1st set. I've added the year and made a separate image so that I can use it throughout. I also added the days of the week and saved it as a separate image. The Tolkein button I will use on each page changing the color to coordinate with the picture as I love this quote from Lord of the Rings.

  2. I am making a Thailand themed calendar for my grandson and his girlfriend as a remembrance of their summer trip. I made the background from one of my flower pictures modified by FF and a blend mode. The font is "Asian Pacific" from CF. The photo is from David taken in Thailand.

  3. Sorry Carole, I didn't post the calendar with the fonts yet. I actually finished Jan using your Calendar script. The side picture is from Adobe Express. I added a mask to it.

  4. Jan and Feb Thanks for the info on the line. I got one on the Feb calendar too. I don't even know how I fixed it, but I did. I'm just happy I had some time tonight to work on this.

  5. Here is February. I'm going to draw your attention to some minor pieces that have been left in the making of some of these templates, which require you to remove. They are small details, and can be overlooked. Donna and Jacques, I notice that there is line down in the bottom left hand corner which needs to be removed. Also Jacques you have a line going from top to bottom on the right hand side. I suspect you will need to activate the eraser tool, and one of the layers, possibly a layer in the mask to remove it. I'm speculating the photo you used. O Great work Donna and Jacques.

  6. Here is a preliminary version of my January calendar for 2025. I decided to use the Nashville Zoo theme as my granddaughter, Jackie, is now a zookeeper there. She started work in September and she and her husband moved to Nashville, Tennessee. This is her first "real" zoo and she's thrilled! Her previous experience was at Claws n Paws Animal Park in Pennsylvania which can't do the breeding and official zoo activities that they do at this very large facility in Nashville. She has started in the Carnivore House and will rotate through the various habitats until she has experience in all of them. She has sent me lots of photos and some I gleaned from the zoo's website. The font for the month/year title is Aviation Cocktail. I added the days of the week. I had a .png for it I had used in the past for my Botswana wildlife and Downton Abbey calendar workshops. @Cassel these new templates are awesome!

  7. Please keep up the banter, it cracks me up. Every time I looked at the forum, and had another discovered mistake I laughed at myself. And when I got home from work and looking at the forum, I thought, how awesome you all have my back and saved me from looking like a fool. It's okay to be a fool, but looking like one, well, that's a whole other story.

  10. This was just for fun, for the husband of the woman who organizes all the heritage plaques that are being installed in our area. Jim is the background guy most of the time and does all the dog'sbody work which is why I called him a "roadie'. Caught him carrying some stuff back to the van and made him pose. He's actually a well-known historian in the area and a great speaker/storyteller at many events. Made it as 8.5x11" so it would print for them.

  11. Mary, if you go back to a previous calendar workshop you will find dates which will fit the whole width of your page. That way the lines and everything else will be cleaner. Mind you, you'll have to scroll through them to match the right dates to the right month.

  12. Carole, I have all of the supplies, including the alphas. I'm sure you do too, if not I can send them to you via a zipped folder. Also in Feb 2017 there was the first story time challenge. I can't believe how time flies, it doesn't seem that long ago, until you said 8yrs ago. Lol

  13. Welcome to all the registrants, and hopefully, most people will participate in this workshop. We have over 100 registrants, including some who are with us for the first time. Don't be shy. If you are every stuck at any point, don't hesitate to post in the forum. Someone will be here to help you. Since the whole project revolves around 7 different tutorials, it is ok if you are not done your pages (even January and February) after the first couple of days. In fact, it is very possible that your early projects will be edited and you will add more elements as the tutorials come up. It is ok! @Corrie Kinkel Isn't it nice when people ASK you for those calendars? That definitely means that they appreciate your work. @Cristina I am glad you like the new templates. I always want to make something new, every year. @Sue Thomas 2016? It is amazing how time flies. That means we have had various workshops for at least 8 years! I might have to go look for those initial templates! Yes, it was set up more like a "class" than a workshop. It had a LOT of supplies, including some alphas. Maybe something to reconsider in the future. @Jacques Lacerte Great start. I am sure that same page might end up looking different in a few days! @Donna Sillia You mentioned what the font IS, but you have not used it yet, or do I need new glasses? @Mary Solaas Did you resize the calendar part to use the whole width? If you are not finished the first pages, don't worry, because I am not expecting you to be done. You can always post a work-in-progress if you want, but if you prefer to wait, you can just post them near the end. Remember to post your finished pages in the gallery too!

  14. Thanks, Sue. Somehow the red mask leaked through. I removed it for tomorrow's lesson.

  15. It wasn't a conventional style of calendar like we have been making in recent years. A scrapbooking layout style. There was a choice of using a quick page, a template or both to showcase photos.

  16. I used that script too last year 🙂

  18. I am also participating in this calendar workshop. The very first Up to date challenge I participated in was in December 2016 (2017 calendar). Which was a very different challenge. A return to that particular challenge may be a thought. I believe that it precedes any of the challenges and workshops.

  22. Thank you, it was my first attempt using a lot of Anna Aspnes goods and I loved playing around with them. Not all got me what I wanted to make, but I was pleasantly surprised what I could do with an ordinary photo from our woodland park. A photo that I otherwise wouldn't have used as such; probably as a background with lots of blur and blend modes that makes it unrecognizable but keeps the colors.

  24. Thank you from me too! The other years I had to do it myself and last year I used your custom calendar script, but made a mistake in one of the month which had 31 days in stead of 30!

  25. Michele you made a gorgeous layout for your friend! The edge punches are a nice touch. Making something special for someone else brings the best out of us all.

  28. @MoniqueN. If you refresh the page, I have added a separate downloadable set of months to start on Mondays.

  29. Oh, that is a good point. The months are based on Sunday being in the first column. Hum... Let me see if I can create alternate 'months' for those who want to start on Monday.

  30. Wow, that's gorgeous, Michele! Great job!! That edge punch is particularly effective. I don't know about you, but I always pull out all the stops when I create something for someone else. They are usually my best work.

  31. Hi everyone. I have done the Calendar workshop before and now give calendars to my relatives each Christmas. I don't always use the formats from the workshop, but I always learn something new that I can use in my designs.

  32. Your observation had me curious because I am using that script for my dates as well and I thought: oh my haven't I noticed that..... But strangely/luckily my dates with the script are in their normal places. Have you tried to run the script again, I know it is a lot of work but maybe it was a temporarily hickup! Stranger things with computers have happened 😢

  33. When using the custom calendar script, my day 28 is before day 27. I am using 2023Ultimate, and I also tried it in 2022Ultimate. I also checked my 2024 calendar, and the dates were correct.

  41. I did save it as PSP thankfully. And it's the early stages of this process. the bride sill needs to fill in the details of the reception and other stuff (shuttle service, parking at the event etc). I just needed something to put in the card I make so she can get an better idea of how it would look completed and if there will be changes or additions to the various cards in the suite.

  43. I made this for someone in the PSP Maniacs group. She realized she had pictures of both her late father and mother on the porch of their cabin. She supplied all three pictures and the quote. I colorized a paper from DiHillerDesigns and lowered the opacity over a paper from AnnieC. The mask is from Lady22 template 245 and the birds are from ALFL Blog Train Jan 2021. I made the tag using one of Cassel's edge punches; it took a long time and I patted myself on the back when I was done 😂. The text font is Melinda Script and I made the hearts using a dingbat font called Heart.

  45. Does the start of January depend maybe on the day your week starts? Sunday is for me day 7, weeks start for me on a monday (IMHO) 🙂

  46. These are really beautiful. I noticed the text on the right has Brittany's name spelled wrong. I only noticed it because I was trying to see the problematic glyphs you mentioned.

  47. Great Mary and I think you will enjoy it. For me it is the 5th time and I love this workshop!!! The calendars are very fine gifts, but because of the work involved I only give them to family and friends who appreciate them. I have to make 3 versions in 3 different languages, of course the layouts and the photos will be the same. Some of my friends have already asked if there comes a new calendar this year.
