This is the layout I created to practice the techniques from Lab12-Module 01 (Colored Tape—Hand-drawn Frame—Scallop2 pattern). I'll catch up in a couple of more years! Julie, the photo is really stunning and repeating what Sue said; you did justice to it with this beautiful layout. I love the color palette you used.3 points

So do I! I agree that this is a great way to learn. After taking Carole's Basic Scrap Courses, I wanted to continue because they taught me not only scrapbooking but, more importantly, PSP. I had no experience with scrapping, so I would search the Internet for ideas for layouts. I had created folders with ideas for one-photo layouts, two-photo layouts, etc. Sometimes, it was the color palette or the title that caught my attention. A long time ago, I replicated "a photo mat," created with paper ribbons. And I haven't stopped learning since then!3 points

Hi All, Your all so talented but I want to learn so bad, wished I could meet at the library ad watch you guys. I tried the Calendar before couldn't get any of it done. I think it was Ann who gave me some of her calendars it was so nice. Your all wonderful so Talented!3 points

It is an amazing light show from mother nature and you are so lucky to live in an area where it is visible. I hope that I once in my lifetime will have the opportunity to witness it too.🙏3 points

Sorry for the question; I found the registration mail which had gone to my spam folder where it normally never goes.......😕3 points

boy, I'm lovin' week 41, hope it goes on for several weeks! This is amazing. Sometimes, do you look up and think, "I can't believe I'm so lucky to be seeing this". nature being so dazzling is also emotional isnt it?3 points

It turned out that I had just updated the lesson pages when you "joined" so what you see there, is likely the latest content.3 points

I agree with Christina. The images you all have posted are super. What I like especially are the chit-chats where the techniques used to make the images are discussed. I learn so much from them. Now I will have to try some of them to create an image for this forum.2 points

I took last year's class and my family loved the result. So here I am again! Thank you, Carole!2 points

Sorry if I asked an inappropriate question. As a new "DIAMOND" member, I reviewed all the lessons of all the "Workshops" and there was already one on the 2025 calendar. Currently, I am redoing the labs (already seen modules 14 and 13) and I will continue because it is a source of training information. Bravo Carole2 points

Actually, if you access the workshop through the DIAMOND menu, it will lead to the same place. The only difference is getting a daily email with the link so everyone is working on the same thing at the same time, but it is the same since that WAS updated for 2025/2 points

Is this similar to "Workshop: Calendar Workshop 2025" (https://scrapbookcampus.com/workshops/calendar-workshop) or with new features?2 points

The calendars will be specific to 2025, however, I also plan on a blog post that would address this if you want to reuse the templates for other years.2 points

This is so cool. I love the "time machine" effect, it's really "effect"-ive. I love the kitty!2 points

What a truly spectacular shot! You did the image justice, by keeping the layout at it's absolute minimal. I also love the fact that you took the colours from the image, making the layout an extention of the photo.2 points

I often take screenshots of layouts I like so that I can try to replicate them using my stash. It's a great way to learn and have fun. But sometimes, it doesn't work out so well, but that's valuable too.2 points

I wanted an autumn feel and few places are as beautiful as Central Park, NY during this season. These are stock photos that I wish I'd taken. Cass's polaroid script came in handy, even if I did edit them a little. The elements and backgrounds are from a bunch of different sources including PS blog trains, CF, and Boo Land Designs. Again, the Change to Target brush was a lifesaver. The font is AutumnEmbrace for both the title and the little leaves.2 points

This is the layout I finished yesterday. It was amazingly fast, considering that nowadays, I take a long time to decide on colors, papers, and elements, so I have something I like or can live with. 😄 One interesting thing happened while working with the cat (Eyespire). I wanted to add a bevel and started playing with the "Randomize Parameters. " At one point, the cat's eyes turned red, which fitted perfectly with the theme (setting below). For the background, I selected the girls, promoted the selection to a new layer, and used the "Time Machine" filter (Effects>PhotoEffects>TimeMachine>Daguerreotype & Albumen) on the background and some of the elements/text. Corrie, I hope so too, that you will get to experience the aurora at least once in your lifetime. Night before last my daughter who lives in Haverfordwest West Wales, made a trip to the top of Preseli mountain in Pembrokeshire with others, and captured some awesome shots on her phone. The very first time she had ever seen them. Being a KP7 index and higher, the viewing of them dancing can be seen much further south. They are giving another high index for tonight, providing the sky is clear, go out after 10pm to see if you can see them. Being on the same latitude you should see something. Don't only look north. Yes, Susan, although I am fortunate to see the auroras dancing on a regular basis over counless years, this weeks' displays have outranked all the others I have seen. Unreal how the skies were dancing this week, well into the early hours and longer. I have never seen anything like it. I am contantly in awe of the lady (mother nature) dancing the night away. Last night I went to bed early, getting up at 3am this morning, to watch her still dancing. I'm like Carole, I have a basic phone, so I have to resort to my camera. The slower the shutter speed the more colour I am able to capture.1 point

We used to do board games and learn crafts. As a family we still play card and board games with our family. Always looking for new games too. Ravensburger games and puzzles are great for all ages, and recently a company called the HappyPuzzle.co.uk have some new games.1 point

I gave a simple explanation of what the KP index means in the comments of the first aurora image I posted on Tuesday.1 point

Thank you so much Corrie. It is a challenge and I'm quite enjoying it; trying to do something different or use a different background with different techniques. And of course making or adjusting them with PSP. I think that's where the big difference comes from, layering techniques or textures on top of each other. Everything I've done with P52 I've learned in the Campus, isn't that awesome? I notice the beginning weeks were kind of boring to what I'm doing now. Won't that be fun when it's all over, to see the progression all at once?1 point

I get that, I'd "like" to be a hermit....but work seems to get in the way of that 😁. New York (and generally the upper east coast areas) are so beautiful in the fall. Did you ever get to NY City at Christmas time? That's something I'd love to see.1 point
-
I don't get there anymore; I'm pretty much a hermit now. But years ago my mom lived in Manhattan and we used to take my young daughter there, especially to the zoo. And when I was a teenager in Brooklyn, I used to sneak into the City with my friends to the Schaefer Music Festival in Central Park. If we didn't have tickets (~$2), we would just hang out and listen.1 point

KP of 7 is forecasted for tonight too! Unfortunately, here, it is pourring rain. For those looking for references: https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/aurora-30-minute-forecast# I also use an app on my phone called Aurora. I just wished my phone could take those pics, but it does not. It is too old and does not have that powerful camera feature that newer phones have.1 point

An occurance like this doesn't happen very often, well, certainly not with such intensity. The last time was in 1976 in Saskatchewan. A long awaited occurance happened last night. KP7 (a measure of geomagnetic activity index). Was it worth being outside taking pictures, until I couldn't feel my fingers any more? Yes! It most certainly was. We also had our first frost last night. The Aurora danced intensely overhead and south throughout the night, from 9pm til shortly after 5.30am this morning. Needless to say I didn't get to bed until shortly before 5am. With your permission I'd like to post an image per day until Friday. (Which is when my P52 week begins) Each one being different. Auroras occur when charged particles launched along the Earth's magnetic field collide with gases in the Earth's upper atmosphere. Those collisions produce tiny flashes that fill the sky with colourful light. What does KP7 mean, you may ask! Well, it means a strong storm, bright, dynamic and colourful aurorae, which is clearly visible in the southern sky. KP8, would be a severe storm, bright dynamic colourful, clearly visible again in the southern sky.1 point

It might be the word "should". Brits use it differently than North Americans. For us, it has the connotation of something that OUGHT to be done. Just my tuppence.1 point

I'm in and looking forward to it. I've been a bit absent lately and this will be a nice change from the project I'm working on that keeps hitting walls (lots of challenges).1 point

I will be there as well and it will be my 5th calendar workshop. When I'm finished with all the months I'll print the calendar and use it for some gifts. One of the recipients of the last 4 has already inquired if there will be a new one and if so what the theme is going to be! I have used up most of my flower photos in the earlier versions, so this year it will be all about mushrooms; I have quite a lot of photos about those.1 point

I do like calendars and look forward to something new for 2025. We had a workshop in November of 2023 when I created a 2024 series for the wildlife of Botswana. I've also been re-using those templates for my 2024 Wild Cat Calendar that I do every month. The first calendar I created here on the Campus featured the TV show, Downton Abbey for 2023, intended for my granddaughter Anna for Christmas that year and I recall one of my classmates here did one for the show Outlander. I'll be looking for a new theme for this calendar workshop.1 point

I had the opportunity, to go up in a hot air balloon, many years ago. It was a wonderful experience. A whole different view of South Glamorgan, and it's diverse coastline. A lovely capture. It always pays to sieze the moment.1 point
