Sometimes I'm too tied up with deadlines and other projects. Then my time opens up and I can get into PSP again. It's so soothing and completely different from other things I work on. This time I did a l/o with Moo-Deng. Surely you've heard of her? She's on the news, in social media posts, and has her own web camera documenting her progress. I used a Katie Pertiet template (filmstrip) that I got for free, and modified it. Images of the baby girl come from online. I think there should be shadows on the three pix, but perhaps that should have been done before I added the pix. Didn't work after they were Clipped to It. Oh well.....8 points

It is going to look a bit like autumn with the Hydrangeas slowly getting browner. In one to two weeks time all its flowers will be brown and stay so over winter. Most of the leaves are still green. When I was taking a short stroll I noticed this autumn beauty. My own plants are getting brown too, but I haven't taken a photo yet.5 points

Now, that's what I expect here soon too! Love those reds.5 points

We make the best with what we have. I too have a very cheap set up for my studio and I make the best of it. Some shots I'd like to do i cant because I dont have enough power (in the constant lights). One day maybe...4 points

Thank you, sometimes it is being in the right place at the right time! Those shots mostly happen if I'm not going for a walk with the intention to find something to take a photo of. I'm very excited because I have ordered a new iPhone (16 pro) that has the ability to take macro as well. It will take at least another month before I have it completely installed to my liking and have learned the new camera features. I will not go back to having a separate camera because I don't have that always with me; I live in a very build up area and have no direct acces to wild life spots, nor do we have a big garden where I can sit still to watch what is going on around me. However it is what it is and I can enjoy all the lovely photos you post!4 points

Hello all, here in the southwest of Germany, we had a wet spring, which I thought was good, because our roses enjoyed the early hot days of recent years, but not us. At our age, that really reduces our motivation to move around, we only do what is necessary. We are getting more and more Mediterranean temperatures here. We have to water our garden in hot summers with expensive drinking water, but this time, thanks to the rain, that only happened once. August was only a really hot and humid summer month and ended abruptly at the beginning of September, thank God. We were only able to use the terrace once this year, otherwise it was too windy and rainy or too hot again. (It faces south). The foresters reported that the groundwater was replenished again this year. Our small lawn didn't burn this year either. It's getting autumnal now, but we also have lovely, pleasantly warm sunny days in between - in German, called "Altweiber summer". Here is a scrap from our rainy July 244 points

I think it is a truth universally accepted (to use a phrase from Jane Austen) that we tend not to notice the special places around us. I lived in Toronto for many years and, after visiting all the "hot spots" and special places, I didn't really pay much more attention to them unless I took visiting friends around. The same where I've been living for the last 12 years (southwestern Ontario). Because I grew up down here, I often disregard that we have have nifty places to explore and visit. One example is Point Pelee National Park, the most southerly and ecologically diverse park in Canada, jutting into Lake Erie. It is well-known, especially by birders who travel to it from places far away each May for the Festival of Birds. Over those weeks, more than 100 species of birds stop there on their northern migrations. I've been a couple of times, and it is quite the adventure. On the map, Pelee is the long tapering point down at the bottom of Essex County. It's a skinny peninsula that just fades away in sand. If you take a ferry (from Leamington) for about 90 minutes, you can visit Pelee Island which is quite outstanding as well. These are the most southern parts of Canada and have different climatic conditions than elsewhere which allows for many different species to flourish. (On the map, my town - Belle River - is on the other lake to the north (Lake St. Clair). About a 40 minute drive to the park for me. Photos from online in frames from my stash; Cass-Word Frame; fonts....?4 points

I use your painted frames all the time to showcase what I'm watching today on tv. I got a new 36" monitor for Christmas with lots of space for displays! For example, here's what I had for Friday 9/27 - @Corrie Kinkel This is set in Amsterdam. The actor's name is Marc Warren and I first saw him on The Good Wife so I thought I'd try this show, also.3 points

I love it. It looks like a magazine page without the shadows. Another option would be a drop shadow on the template to make the pics look like they are below it.3 points

It was enjoying itself sitting in the water. Having the bird bath to itself. It was quite happy to sit there, posing for many shots. Which gave me immense pleasure, for a short while.3 points

I just couldn't find a photo that I liked for "Concentration," so I decided use some of my Halloween (not my favorite holiday) stuff. I made all the backgrounds using FF and changing them to different colors. The title font is called "Hello Jack" from CF. I experimented with a layer style bevel in orange and was pleasantly surprised that made the letters smokey inside. The journal font is "Halloween" from CF. I used AI quite a bit. I am not sure where I got the house, but it was treated in My Edit, an AI product from Cyberlink. The witch and jack o lanterns are also from AI in My Edit. The bat and frame are from Canva. The clip is my own with bat wings added. The cat and the hands, I think, are from font extras from CF. I have been adding Carole's shadows to my presets after I label them to indicate their use. For example, "cassdropshadow for frame." Since I am shadow deficient, this labeling really helps me when I am making something without having to scroll through a video to help me.3 points

What a difference a few days and the remnants of a hurricane can make! My grass is a lot greener than it was due to the rain we've gotten in the last 36 hours. Rain is still forecast off and on throughout Monday. We are not out of drought conditions though, we didn't get enough rain for that. The "eye" of the hurricane is settled over western Kentucky and the outer bands to the northeast are over southwestern Ohio sometimes coming as far north as me. I know it is not as bad as those who have suffered much worse in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, eastern Tennessee and North Carolina but southeastern Ohio had extremely high winds yesterday and a lot of power outages. Over 320,000 last night is down to around 200,000 today. A lot of power companies in Ohio actually sent units to FL to help (we had one go from my town), never expecting that there would be outages here from the storm! Most of the outages are because of trees coming down from the winds. But, some areas in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee are actually cut off from the rest of the world. Roads have caved and floods have wiped out whole towns. The town of Ashville NC can only be reached by air, no roads are passable to get in or out. Mother Nature must have really been upset about something!2 points

I agree and do this always, it is such a timesaver! Isn't it great that we can learn something new on each bootcamp we do!2 points

Module 4 Project 4. Almost all supplies from Cassel's Fire and Ice with a couple of modifications. Used a green paper from Jessica Dunn. The doily was done by me following along one of the tutorials. I pretty much turned the layout 90 degrees since my photo was NOT in landscape format. PS...you have to look close to see Rambo.2 points

You know even as flowers fade and decline as summer draws to a close, and enters Autumn, their organic pigment diminishes. Yet, even those diminishing pigments have a beauty all of their own, when you look closely, just like the flower in the image. A laudable shot Corrie!2 points

It took me a while to figure that out, but that's what I do before resizing.2 points

Here in Western Kentucky, we are fairly fortunate in that we experience all four seasons. I've lived places where Winters are long and cold with alot of ice and snow and Summers are short and humid. I've also lived in Alaska where nights can get as long as the winter LOL. I have no complaints this year.2 points

I totally agree with your quote! I have taken many lovely photos when on such a walk and therefore I always take my iPhone with me, even when I'm only going to post a letter or a card.2 points

Here is an image that sort of meets the two picture criteria, as the upper left image is the photo that served as the start of the silhouette. Several months ago Carole did a tutorial on creating a silhouette with another picture inside it. I was intrigued and used it to create this image that tells the story of this adventure in an interesting way. The bear adventure was at a river in Klahoose First Nations territory and the image of the salmon jumping was taken in a river close to where I live in British Columbia. Thank Nikon for long lens cameras.2 points

Thank you Ann. I will check that out. I like to learn about PSP. I have been using it for many years but never have blocks of time to sit and learn all that it can do. As I get closer to retirement, I am excited to get more chances to dive deeper into it. The lessons are a great start and awesome teaching tool.2 points

Day 11 - Project 5 I'm not very good with flowers so I hope I identified it properly. If not, please correct me. The photo is mine. I used various papers and elements from Mizteeques, AnnieC, Melisa Lerin, Janet Kemp, and the little flower under the text from Freepik. Whew. I made the little boxes by filling in selections with triadic colors and adding some texture. I can see now that I probably should have varied the textures. The clip and flower were two separate elements so I tried adjusting the drop shadows as we learned in the Shadows Workshop. I think I did it right. The title font is Acmatic Personal and the text font is Aguafina Script.2 points

Mother Nature hasn't gotten the memo where I live also, down in the most southern part of California, along the Salton Sea. Our daytime temperatures are still around 117° but our nighttime temps are getting down to the mid 80's. We've been in the hundreds since April. I live in the very low desert at 238 feet below sea level so we expect hot temps but it would be really nice if it would start cooling down soon. I'm so looking forward to being able to finally opening my doors and windows to air out my house.2 points

Spring here was very wet and cold and the summer started much the same way, but august was fine and not too hot. September until now was warm, about 24 Celsius with the nights about 16 to 18. All in all very pleasant you only notice it is going darker in the evenings by the week. In a couple of days we will have the lights on at dinnertime. But the weather is now changing to rain and much cooler, about 15 C daytime and under 10 at night. We haven't much autumn colors yet, but a some trees drop their leaves because of the very wet conditions in spring. Today there was an article in the newspaper about the Dutch vineyards which we have since 10 to 15 years. Due to the climate change it has become considerately warmer and it is now possible to produce decent wines over here. But not this year! Because the wet spring the grapes are small and there are fewer of them too. For some growers it will cost too much to pick and produce wine with no profit left. One of them said in the interview that this year the birds will have a feast.2 points

Where I am is finally back to seasonal temperatures for the month of September. In the first 21 days of the month, 19 of them set new temp records. We had quite a few days in the high 80's and low 90's. That is August temps, not September. We've also had very little rain and went into drought declarations. My grass is brown but the weeds are as green as can be. The last time my neighbor mowed was my lawn was August 23rd. We did have about an inch of rain Monday night locally but some of the drought areas of Ohio didn't even get that. However, due to the tropical storm that is predicted to become a hurricane overnight we could have rain all weekend. As for the foliage, there have been trees in town that were turning in late August. My neighbor's tree that I love to watch in the fall is already changing colors. Extremely early! Even the leaf pickup in my neighborhood is going to start in mid-October due to leaves possibly falling early. I started doing an October daily album of fall colors in Ohio several years ago. I took photos of the leaves changing throughout the month. My neighbor's tree was still green at the beginning of the month and had changed and was losing the leaves at the end of the month. Last year it was already half changed by the 1st. That could possibly happen again this year and it might not have any leaves by the end of the month. So much for documenting the changes throughout the month... However, I will be out of state for a week and could see fall foliage on my trip.2 points

Our weather here in the Mid-Hudson Valley on the East Coast of the US has been similar to Cristina. I don't know where she's located though. One thing different this year is the fall colors are not coming in like previous years. We're almost at the end of September and Applefest is the first Sunday in October when the tourist deluge is at its peak. Our area is a tourist trap for "leaf-peepers," and they'll be disappointed if they come now. I do love the Fall colors and this year it's rather dull. Today, 9/25/2024, at 5am the temperature is 55F/14C and is projected to reach 67F/19C and be cloudy all day. We had a lot of rain on Monday and my outside cat, Batman, refused to leave my porch all day! 🐈2 points

Day 9 - Project 4 I absolutely adore this photographer's work. If you're on Facebook, you should check out his page. He goes under 501 North Photography and has some amazing pictures of the Aurora Borealis. I decided to share some of his barn shots. I created an uncharacteristically (for me) muted layout so the pics could be the real stars. I used a bunch of supplies from the ALFLT Blog Train Jan 2021. The title font is Xpressive and the text font is Sugarstyle Millenial.1 point

Although I have been using PaintShop pro since 2007 (PainshopProp Photo 11), this is the first time I use it to make "Scrapbooks". I have rather used Corel Painter to transform my photos into "paintings". I have learned many things that I will reuse.1 point

What I learned. Not sure I can say I learned this during this session, but I was certainly reminded of it. The use of the Magic Wand to make the frame around the photos was a feature I was looking for in my notes not that long ago. Glad I got to see it again. Thanks1 point

@Cassel I actually used bits and pieces. I am a collector of anything that I think will come in handy for a project then I cannot remember where I got it from. I most try to be more organized with my collections. @Ann Seeber the name of the font was Doggy Smart.1 point
