We have a nice park in town that includes a dog park where I go regularly. One of the locals has a beautiful garden that abuts the park. I call him "Farmer Bob" and always get some goodies from his bounty. Noticed this today and grabbed a shot of it. Lots of paint and splashes and shapes added to try and make a simple and more horizontal layout.7 points

@Ann Seeber One of my favorites. I was a teenager (late teens) and had a part time job. So I manager to see so many musicals. All the Rogers and Hammerstein musicals from that time frame - 50-52 - Carousel, Oklahoma, Show Boat, and I loved Gene Kelley - so An American in Paris was one of my favorites. I loved Mario Lanza and so the first 2 or 3 at that time, and Howard Keel was another of my favorite male singers. Also loved Julie Andrews - her voice was absolutely the best - but I love Shirley Jones voice also.4 points

This topic was a trip down memory lane! I was 6 in 1955 when tv broadcasting made a start in the Netherlands. It was in black&white on one channel only for a couple of hours every day. There were not many people that had bought a television set, they were quite expensive and people didn't really know what to think of it. It was very common to go to friends or family that had taken the plunge and owned such a modern set, to get a chance to see it for yourself. For our family it became a sort of social gathering on Saturday evenings and I was even allowed to stay up late. Later came a children's hour on the free Wednesday afternoon. There was a presenter called "tante Hannie" (auntie Hannie) who introduced the show and you could even write to her and got an answer as well. I remember 2 shows very vividly and put the photos I could find on the net on my layout. There was an official postmark stamp and I made one with my own script. The background has a circle overlay (tut in this month's lab) and I started out with a template from Alflt June 2019 Fair and kept some of it and changed a lot. The tv tag was made with the leather tag script that I had for a long time and the Adventure freebies reminded me of that script! The double bow was made with the double bow script and I kept it in my stash. Title font is Lucky Retro with a bevel, the cluster is by Jessica Dunn and the paint splashes were in my stash. The red bow was a sample freebie from Carole for one of the bow scripts and I used it because it matches somewhat the clowns bow.4 points

I used a paper and a cluster by Jessica Dunn from DS/PS. Cassel's brad factory script came in handy so I could "fasten" the film strip. The other stuff was in my stash.3 points

I'm working on Week 31 - this is a screenshot of a video produced by the Huguenot Street Historical Society and when I saw it, I was delighted to see my own name, Terwilliger. It seems my ancestor was a blacksmith in the New Paltz, NY, area. The photo quality was fair but I ran it through PSPs Effects/Photo Effects/Time Machine and chose the Platinum developing process which also added the frilly border which also shows up on some old photos I have here. PSP explained the Platinum process gave superior prints but because it was exorbitantly expensive was not used very often.3 points

Woo Hoo. You are a "Lifesaver". Took 2022 completely off, then reinstalled it. Got both 32 bit and 64 bit now and ALL file associations are back with 2022.1 point

Now that would be an adventure! Not sure I want to go through the preparation, i.e., go to jail...let me know how it goes for you. Take lots of pictures and all of us will create layouts.1 point

WEEK 30 = SUN AUG 4 for me. I'm just catching up here! Still delving into the ancestry of my father's family in Ulster County. The original 1698 Bevier house on Huguenot Street in New Paltz became a general store and the Bevier's purchased farmland in nearby Marbletown. This home was quite an upgrade from the New Paltz original. This 1740 Bevier house is now a museum.1 point

Today when I looked out of my kitchen window I saw something on the street that I couldn't immediately identify. Often birds are searching for little insects or worms between the stones especially after it has been raining. I went outside to have a closer look and it happened to be a small hedgehog! When we lived in our old house we had hedgehogs visiting in the garden, but here I haven't seen them around. This is a more buildup area although there are some small spots like the one where I took the flower photos for the weeks in July. The lady from across the street saw me and came to have a look too. We didn't know what to do because the hedgehog was in danger to get overrun by a car but he was looking okay and walking around. She is the caretaker of a Jehova Witnesses community center and lives on the premises which has a decent garden. We decided to try to get the hedgehog to walk into a box without us touching it and he/she obliged and is now in her garden. Surprise of the day........1 point

Week thirty one . I can only ever add one image to each post. I've tried editing the post to add another image, but it will not allow me to do so. Anyway, I would like you to meet some of my many seasonal wild friends. Richardson's Ground squirrels. Many come to the call, for a treat. I do not attempt to touch or handle them. I let them come to me. Although they are very teritorial, somtimes they will share a treat. Which is quite rare. As it usually sparks a fight, with the dominant/older one winning seeing off the subordinate. The other image is of a baby, following in the steps of older ones. I'm unable to take shots with the camera as I can't operate it one handed. Using a tripod or monopod doesn't work either, as they won't pose for me in a specific spot. These were taken using my mobile phone.1 point
