Lab 13 Mod 2. Double arrow - I made papers and ribbons; Cutout shape - I made several but did not save them as "shapes" or "brushes", just png's (several of them all with different corners cut out) - used a copy to make the label. The rest of the papers and elements are from my desert kit including the title. The picture was taken by Joe and Laurie on that western trip they took in 2023. I used that mask I made some time ago playing with several frames in different opacities.4 points

I'm working on installing all the zips of PSP supplies I've downloaded which is taking a while. I also want to catch up on Master Classes I've missed of which there are many. One of the moderators in my Fab Divas group took over doing the daily pics when I was sick and she's having such a fun time doing them. As long as she's still enjoying herself, I can devote my time to PSP. This is a mutually satisfying arrangement for both of us. 🙂4 points

Love this! I've done similar for my fur babies in the past. Always chokes me up to see this type of layout.4 points

I redid my scrapbook page to make my letters easier to read. I downloaded a font from CF called Shizuko which is thicker. I eliminated the side font and used a map from Canva turned into a stamp from FF to identify the location. I added 2 masks with photos of the food that the kids sent to me. Food is very inexpensive in Thailand, and David informed me that they ate at a Michelin star restaurant and paid $1.50 each for their meals. They were there for 6 weeks playing rugby and working out with the Bangkok rugby club, and, of course, eating.4 points

Over the years, we have had several Doberman's, almost all, rescues. I have been working on a "Heaven's Gate" layout for all of them. I have left a "spot" to, in the future, add our current dog, who is starting to slow down. I have very few photos of a couple of them, and alot of the photos I have were taken before the current level of digital sophistication (anybody remember owning and using a Sony Mavica, complete with the "3.5 inch floppy disk" film?). I took a large "cloud" image and using the pen tool in freehand draw, created a "hole" which I cut out and made transparent. Before losing the vector, I ran the vector tube script on it using the built in cloud picture tube file. I ran it three times then single clicked a couple of clouds into the remaining gaps. Found a suitable heaven's gate image and put it behind the clouds. After that I added the dogs and used drop shadow with zero offset and high blur settings (twice on each dog) to make them "glow" just a bit. Font is Vineta BT at 150 pixels with some bevel and shadow. I did the font on an elliptical path after making a duplicate of the vector. I moved the duplicate elliptical path down, then ran the vector tube with the cloud tube again, added bevel and shadow and deleted the vector. (Note: going to add a photo of me and my Mavica from WAY BACK....in the next post LOL).4 points

Oh boy my editing skills are atrocious. I should have said, "I sure HOPE there is not......etc". Yes, we are actively recruiting members. Just touch base with our National President (Michele) and she'll set you up. I wonder if we should get cards made, so we can say (and prove) we are "card carrying members". Maybe the prez (Michele) will get on that. Hint Hint.3 points

The adventure I have captured here was our 50th anniversary vacation. It was an adventure from the first to the last day. The train ride to Dneali was fun, It rained the whole time we were up there though. We did get to see some wildlife but of course the mountain was hiding in the clouds. We did have a nice room and the food was good. We then took a bus down to get to our ship. This was our first cruse so that was fun. Good food and drinks and some beautiful sunrises and sunsets. At a couple of the stops we did do one of the tours. The pic in the center is from one of those, it was actually on our Anniversary. The last adventure though was the plain we were supposed to fly home in was canceled because of a bird broke the front window. What a mess that was trying to get all those people on to other flights. We wound up having to stay in a hotel another night and fly home the next day. Instead of having nice seats we were stuck in some really small ones and would not have even been sitting together if it wasn't for a really nice Airline employee doing some magic and getting us seated together. Creating this has been fun too (not) because of issues when I tried doing it with 2023. When I had it almost all finished, every time I tried to do something it would close. I finally opened both 23 and 21 and one by one copied and pasted every thin for 23 to 21 so I could finish it.2 points

Anja you do a great job with the Labs! I'm constantly thinking I should do them too, but somehow I don't have the time or the gusto to start with them. Instead I do a lot of the tutorials and store the results for when I need some. That works for me because I most of the time have a ribbon, overlay, pattern etc when I need it for a layout. I'm still working my way through the masterclasses as well.2 points

I am not a fan of any sports, and it frustrates me that Sport dominates our TV channels with one large event after another. My husband is a BIG sports fan and loves to watch all the sports, especially football as he goes to all the football matches. So we have our own TV's in this house so that I don't have to watch it, but they cancel many of my favourite programs, and weekends is mostly sport!! Hubby is constantly talking to me about sport, and who has won the medals for UK. and other stories! I do catch some of the sport, including Diving, Tom Daily is our UK champ, who also has a passion for knitting, even when in the audience watching other divers! (He is a great knitter). I have in the past watched gymnastics and trampoline as my daughter used to do those sports and was a trampoline coach. Now she does Zumba, (she is a coach for Zumba). She does Hoop, not as high as you see in the circus and previously did Pole Dancing,-not in clubs, just learning in a group. Me and sport does not mix, my son is like me in that respect, though he loves walking and recently joined a gym just to stay healthy.2 points

Susan, I go through the same "yuk" moments. After I finish one layout, it takes time to start a new one. The photo is the starting point; it has to connect with me and spark creativity. Sometimes, it is right there, but other times, there's a blank, and it takes me a long time to decide on something,.. Which usually ends up being totally different from when I began. 😄2 points

I usually only watch the gymnastics if I can catch it. I did floor and balance beam in high school way back when Cathy Rigby was the U.S. "star" gymnast in the early 70s. One year I qualified for the NY city-wide competition. The only reason was that at one meet there was a new judge who gave me a 7.6 score which was much higher than normal. I came in 10 out of 10. Go through the Double Page Workshop and get some ideas! You got this. Once you start the ideas will flow. It takes me a while to "warm up" when I sit down to do a layout. Lots of "yuk" moments, then trying to fix the yuk, I get inspired by something and then that directs the layout. It's rare to know what I want to do when I start.2 points

Ditto me too. I sure there is NOT a 12 step program for that, I want to keep feeding the "need".2 points

Many years ago we went mudflat walking with the company where my husband worked. Every year there was some sort of activity, like visiting something work-related but that year (2005) we had a whole weekend in the north of the Netherlands. Part of it was a tour with a guide on the mudflats or "Wadden". It is a popular activity because it is a real adventure. The guide had a long pole with him to measure the depth of the ditches we had to cross and had to get everybody of the group back before it became high tide. The tour started with a speech about the mudflats and a warning to stay together and do as he said to keep it safe. At first the going was fairly easy, we walked on a sandbank but later it became rather difficult. The soil became muddier and especially the ditches we tough. We helped each other because it was difficult to keep your balance and we got muddier and muddier and the water started to rise again so the ditches became deeper. I will never forget this adventure, but it is once and never again.2 points

Grandson Tyler had an adventure in July with a singles vacation in Bali, Indonesia. The flight was very long but luxurious hosted by Qatar Airlines. He was delighted to be hooked up with 4 single women for the tours. This is just a template from my stash. The Bali logo is from a search which produced this on a t-shirt, and I added the date. Enjoy!2 points

Week 28 Scripts used (apart from Counting Cards1-Weeks) Custom Playing Card Lifted Photo I used the tutorial called: Button the back ground is made from a Kaleidoscope tile. After flood filling a layer I duplicated it and chose Multiply to get it darker. then I added a texture (texture effects>texture>squares). The kaleidoscope is subdued and probably wont show up here. I inner bevel and shadowed the outer frame and each text vector all separately.1 point

I, too, have all 4 of Carole's books. The 1st 2 on Kindle. and the next 2 in paperbook. The previous 1 is marked with numerous paper clips as that is how I marked it for places to study as needed. I just got my copy of the new one and am looking forward to reading and marking it!1 point

I don't follow any specific sport except the major horseraces like the Kentucky Derby. My tv connection for streaming went out last week and I ended up watching the Olympics on cable for lack of a better choice. I was lucky enough to catch Simone Biles with her routines and that was very satisfying. I didn't have to be an enthusiast of the Olympics to appreciate her talent. I also get annoyed on weekends when sports seem to dominate the cable channels and I'm appreciative of my streaming device where I can watch anything, old or new, on my own terms.1 point

That's awful. <hugs> My husband has the sports package as he watches all the sport.....fortunately, I can work in my little office and watch non-sport programs, though the main channels have the Olympics and some of the non sport programs have been moved to another channel, as myself and others complained as the sport was replacing our regular programs! I suggested they move our programs to the other channels, and they have recently started doing that for some of the popular non sport programs.1 point

Yes, Susan, I would love to have a card too! Michele, why don't you come up with a layout for a card? 😉 🙂1 point

Although I personally would not use those as SCRIPTS, they make for nice templates that you can tweak. There is no real reason to run them as scripts, since they are really just templates. I call those scripts "Templates-in-disguise". Some designs are interesting, and with your knowledge of PSP, you can tweak the results much more and use the elements with more variations.1 point

Even with layflat pages at Shutterfly, some of the edges get cut off. Same with individual 12x12 prints printed with other vendors. I learned many years ago that if I don't want something to get cut off that I do not put it close to the edge. The one solution many use (but not me) is when they do books they use a page that has a white border around the layout (making the layout smaller maybe 11.5x 11.5). A double page layout with a photo across the 2 pages definitely doesn't look good with that.1 point

I'm here too and like Bonnie I want to learn a bit more about those "difficult" ones1 point

I'm so lucky that the printing service I use here in the Netherlands offer a binding that uses a flat lay technique which allows me to do a double page and is seamless. They offer it only with rather thick paper and only on a somewhat bigger format for the album.1 point

Julie we talked about this project and it is so nice to see the unveiling of the plaque, a great result of all your hard work! I'm sure you can make wonderful pages to commemorate the event for those who couldn't attent that day.1 point

Several years ago there was a sports surcharge on my cable bill. I spoke to customer service and asked that all sports channels be removed from my account as I don't watch them. I was told they were included in the basic cable package and they couldn't remove the surcharge. I was not amused.0 points
