Day 6 I use Jessica Dunn's bundle, "Heard the Buzz", except for the bee that is from Creative Fabrica. the font for the title is Hillray Reg. (probably CF) and I duplicated the vector, added more outline and had not fill on the second version. Convert them to a raster so I had an outline version and a fill version in raster form. I used Inner Bevel on the outline and Used Effect>Texture Effects>Tiles (hexagon shape) on the fill layer - I learned this from Digital Scrapbooking Made Easy book. I'm already referring to the book for techniques.8 points

Day 6 - Fear of Heights The picture of the waterslide is from Canva, the coaster from Unsplash and the last one is from my daughter. I made the background and the waves from cass waves script. The border was me fooling around with directional tubes and vector tube. The pattern is from a cass preset. The title font is Ampera, a layered font from CF, and the text is Vintage Remington. The stars are from the template and put in a row using cass repeat script. The little black carnival objects are from a CF dingbat font called DBAmusement Park.8 points

Already day 7 and I used the template for this day. In another Story Time Workshop (or challenge as it was called) I told the story of me going to my grandparents each weekend to read the newspaper to my granddad because he couldn't read it due to severe eye problems. My gran had to read it to him every day and was glad that I came to relieve a bit of the burden. I had a strong bond with grandpa and loved to come to them. So my story continues with the lavender I started to bring for granny because she loved those blooms and the smell of them; she always had lavender soap and lotion as well. I used the kit Lavender Fields by Jessica Dunn and only the tag doesn't come from that kit. I used one of my own photos of a lavender plant which I once had in the garden and placed it in a round tag that I have in my stash by following the tutorial for this lesson, I had forgotten how to do that........ Title font is Hesthia Austine, the rest Arial6 points

I have one tape from my dad talking with my son who stayed with them when he was about 4 years old. It s a little bit unnerving when I listen to dad's voice because it isn't what I seem to remember. People from Rotterdam have a distinctive way of speaking and I always thought that my parents had no accent; I clearly was wrong! I left Rotterdam almost 23 years ago, of course I went there often to visit and the city always feels like home to me.5 points

I have been experimenting using the elementstacker script. I made my letters on vector and then converted them raster. The letters had a layer style added. When I used the script the layer style was not included, so I merged all to flatten, then copied and pasted them on a new layer with no background. The script then used the layer style. Also since the font had parts of letters that did not touch, I ended up with all the pieces of the letters which I then merged the pieces for each letter. I have saved everything vectors, rasters, etc so that I could use the vectors to change colors. I hope to continue with other fonts in order to be able to use on my projects.4 points

I would love different prompts to trigger my memory even more and reading all this great stories from everybody brings back other memories as well.4 points

I absolutely adore this page, Julie. And I'm also straining my grey matter coming up with anecdotes for the StoryTime workshop.4 points

Mary, if anyone is going to catch up with the Lab tutorials, it will be you! Whenever you post the lab's layouts, you encourage many of us to follow your steps and continue working on the lessons. For me, it's a way to learn or review the different techniques. Great work!4 points

I love your style so much. I know what you mean, having to look at photos to remind you. I wish I had taped my parents voice, I don't remember the voices anymore. Makes me sad.4 points

Julie this is superb and a lovely tribute to your mother! Btw I think Sue is almost ready for X-mas if she isn't out kayaking, riding and shooting photos that is.4 points

Lab 12 Mod 12. Finally finished with Lab 12. Will I ever catch up????? Title - Winter: Aryadata; Joys: Arial Black; Requirements: Christmas Stocking; folded tree; bottle brush trees. The snowman is by Rachel Martin (PS); the rope is by Cass; the clothes pins are by Brooke Gazarek (PS). I've had fun with the embossed paper and have made several of them with different elements. I've also made several different brads - some with Cass-brad factory and I believe these were from that script.4 points

Day 7 I used the pretty finished page. Although, on the lower right hand side by the pink flower, there is a weird line. Does anyone else have that? I happened to have a recent lilac photo and thought's I'd use it even if it has nothing to do with the subject of the journaling. I wanted to try the technique. I like it. I hope I remember it so I can use it again. I did all of it in 2022 and forgotten how nice it is to be able to right click on a selection and move it. I'm so used to using edit selection and the pick tool to move (or resize) my selections. Fonts are Marline (title) and Marko One (journaling). Thank you for this workshop Carole. there was techniques (feathering) I had forgotten how to do.3 points

I grew up with a girl who's mom was from the Netherlands (not exactly sure - my memory isn't what it used to be, or maybe it never was😄) and she thought her didn't have an accent. Her mom had a strong accent, yet clearly understandable to us. I think I might find it unnerving if I did hear my parents voices...would I even know if someone played the voices to me without telling who it is. Thank goodness for photos, they are my memory's storage system.3 points

Thank you and I loved my grandparents so much. I was lucky they lived to the very old age of 89 and 92, which was really old for people being born in the late 1800th. They were my maternal grandparents; my paternal grandfather had already died and my grandma just lived long enough to at least saw me when I was born. At that point she was already bedridden and my dad put me in her arms as soon as he could take me there, but of course I only know the story.3 points

This was me also. And going down the stairs to the basement, the light was at the bottom. when I had come back up I had to turn the light off, then go up the starts. Soon as I flipped the light switch I raced up the stairs so nothing in the dark could get me.3 points

@Bonnie Ballentine I bet you still remember the smell of that market too! I remember that quote about fear used by Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory!! Interestingly, I have vertigo if I even SEE a video or a picture of someone on an edge, yet, I am ok with those coasters. But you won't see me walk on the edge of the CN tower!!! EVER! @Susan EwartThe shadow for the horse would depend on where the "surface" is. Is it a wall behind? If so, how far is it? Is there a floor? Those are the questions you will need to ask yourself before creating the shadow and tweaking it. Did your mom change her cooking of the roast beef after hearing of that nickname? @Corrie Kinkel I feel that we are allowed not to like something, but what I see too often is that kids are picky and parents will enable that. For me, if I am picky and I get invited somewhere, I'll eat enough before going and I usually find something I can eat there, without saying anything. My mom was also scared of lightning, and I was too, when young. But by the time I was a teen, somehow, I conquered that fear and loved watching thunderstorms. My kids would also love it when it was lightning. If it was at night, we would pull out the hide-a-bed and watch the show through the large livingroom window @Ann Seeber I bet it was the way many kids learned to swim (or fear water) in those days! I learned to swim around 3-4, yet later, I convinced myself that I didn't know how to swim and once, in a pool, the inflatable toy I had around my waist got off me, and I sank (I was in the shallow end and could have stood up), yet I tucked in a ball and waved my arms around, making me go round and round and round, until my aunt saw me! Strangely, I still HATE to touch the bottom of a pool (except in the shallow end) or the ocean. I was once cut by razor clam under my foot. Another story I should write down on a page! The word COUP in French also means HIT/PUNCH. But also that political overthrowing. @Donna Sillia Be thankful that it happened in the 60's. If it was in modern days, there would be dozens of clips of it on YouTube! @Daniel Hess If you add text inside a shape, you can contract the selection before adding the text to give a little padding on the edges. @Dan GreenwoodThose shadows make a world of difference! Did your nephew ever found out about their mystery gifter? @Gerry Landreth You should team up with Ann at the Drive-in!! 🙂 @Michele Funny, I never played with a pink ball. I seem to remember our balls were red, white, and blue. Maybe they were a different kind. @Anja Pelzer That is such a fun layout!!! I bet they didn't have unbreakable glasses back then! The laundry story is a nice angle to the topic! @Julie MagerkaIsn't it amazing how our imagination would make us fear things? As for issues with PSP2023, it is true. There was an update #2 in August 2023 that fixed some bugs and added some fixes. However, it added that bug related to the wrapped text getting unwrapped when you need to edit it afterward. I will investigate to see if there is a workaround. In the meantime, I have no clue if there will be another update/patch this year as Corel/Alludo has dissolved the beta-testing group a few weeks ago. That is where I would get some of the "inside information". And I agree with everyone saying that this workshop is a great way to learn some things about each other. Maybe, next time, I will offer different prompts for the lessons so we can learn even more!3 points

I wanted a wee break from StoryTime. Thinking of what to say in journal form is trying my grey matter too much. So I was looking at old pix and came across this one of my mother, taken oh so many moons ago! She's been gone from my life for such a long time, I look at her photos to remind me. This layout has so many brushes and elements, I couldn't begin to list them. I just played and played until I liked what I got. It's based on a scraplift I took from Lilypad. It's my last "what are you working on" for July. Hello August! Christmas will be here in no time, and I bet Sue T is all prepared by now!3 points

I know why kids cry so hard after a bee or wasp sting! It bloody hurts! I got stung a few times over the last few years and I was hopping around and mouthing some choice words. And it doesn't go away fast either. But I still don't jump around when they come near me. I find the quieter I stay, the less they come to me.2 points

Well it seems this fear is universal; my youngest granddaughter had the same fear and it is only very recently that it seems to have disappeared (she is 12 by now!)2 points

Day 4 I found the pics on Google and changed them to B&W to give them a nostalgic look. I added some texture to the pink papers just to add a little interest. The title font is Travel Soulmates and the story font is Lavanderia.2 points

Here's my day 5 again, fixed. I dont have time to take over the world today, as I have some folding to do. PS...My husband asked if my "coup" involved locking my parents in the basement and taking over the house. I said yes, so you better toe-the-line or there might be a take over in this house too! 😨2 points

I used a photo I took of Ffion one of my granddaughters at the beach when I was home last. They live in Cornwall. I used a mask from one of the calendar challenges. I used the Dolphin and one of the shells from the font to create the tag, and text on a path on the dolphin. I filled the word Cornwall with water, sand and seashells. The bow is Carole's bow 3 script. It's not the easiest of dingbats to work with. Although it is a fun beach font.2 points

Day 6, but I used the template-day-5b because that fitted better with what I had in mind. I wanted to use fear for lightning as my topic for day 6 and I have a couple of overlays with a flash of lightning and this one fitted best. It is a simple page with papers from Jessica Dunn with some noise from me. The yellow flash is by Janet Kemp and where I got the lightbulb, no idea. The title font is Off War Stamp, text is ariel.2 points

Day 4 - I know I am way behind, but hope to catch up in the next few days. I had difficulty deciding on this topic and ended up dragging out my old yearbook since I didn't have any good pictures from my majorette days. I made the striped paper blue and gold for our school colors and scanned pictures of me from my yearbook. The little majorette is a black and white from Canva, colored by me. The flowers are a my own mum with one changed to blue. We used to wear the corsages on football Fridays. The bow and ribbons are from cass scripts. I tried to make the green paper look like a football field. The embellishment twirls are from a brush. The main title is Preppy Varsity and the typing is Vintage Remington, both from CF. The text border is a cass tube, gimp. I had a typo and could not correct with PSP2023, but I changed the text to character shapes and managed to make it look ok. I also made the title letters character shapes in twist them.2 points

STORY TIME - LESSON 6 - FEAR. My fear of the water has a bit of story behind it. I dug up this really old photo of me and a friend from 1946 when our families went to the beach at Far Rockaway. We were from Rutherford, NJ, but our friends were from Flushing, Queens, so Far Rockaway beach it was! I'm on the right, age 5 and Linda was 4. The title font at the bottom is Horror Story and I decided to add a little stroke in black. I was surprised the font added scatters instead of strokes on the letters. The journaling text is Bell MT and I used the new By the Sea font to add the line of seabirds under the photo. Cass photo corners. I had a hard time trying to scan this old black & white photo and ended up using my iPhone and taking a picture of it. That worked out much better! I used a kit from Marisa Lerin called Under the Sea-mini with the lesson six template. I think I will post the text separately for readability in the comments.2 points
