  1. Here's my day 5. I didn't enjoy going to the Farmer's Market when I was a kid but I have fond memories of our trips there. I didn't use an alpha. I made a seamless pattern of the butterbean photo and used it as a fill for my text. I gave it an outline to help it show up better. I also added a small drop shadow. Perhaps I should add a bit more shadow... Butterbean and produce photos are from the web.

  2. Although it is very late over here I just finished this day 5 about my hate/love of a simple food as rice. It took me a lot of time before I had something I can live with. The papers and flower + leaves are from the blogtrain of july 2021 by DB Magnolia, the font is Avelyn and the letters are MarisalScraps. The dish and the rice grains come from Pixabay.

  3. Day 4....only 3 more (it's rhyming day in my house, for me and my spouse ๐Ÿ˜„) Kidding aside. I wrote last time about the sports I liked as a kid. This time it's just something I was crazy about since I can remember. Horses! Who doesn't love the majestic horse? Fonts used are Best Baru and Blustina (CF). I used a kit from Jessica Dunn called Wild Horses. The bouncy horse I found on a google search and extracted it as well as the Sears Wishbook page for 1968. I don't quite remember what my bouncy horse looked like but my parent would have bought it from Sears. the cowboy boots and horseshoe (blended into the strip at the bottom) came from Free Pik. I look forward to learning how best to shadow stuff like the horse, does the shadow go below the horse or how using the shadow effect as normal. Is this a horse laying on it's side on the page or standing up like it looks like? Using three dimensional elements makes it more complicated.

  5. I'm working to keep up but with other irons in the fire right now (and deadlines coming up), I'm really only doing some basic layouts. These two are Day 4 and Day 5 StoryTime.

  7. Day 4 - I know I am way behind, but hope to catch up in the next few days. I had difficulty deciding on this topic and ended up dragging out my old yearbook since I didn't have any good pictures from my majorette days. I made the striped paper blue and gold for our school colors and scanned pictures of me from my yearbook. The little majorette is a black and white from Canva, colored by me. The flowers are a my own mum with one changed to blue. We used to wear the corsages on football Fridays. The bow and ribbons are from cass scripts. I tried to make the green paper look like a football field. The embellishment twirls are from a brush. The main title is Preppy Varsity and the typing is Vintage Remington, both from CF. The text border is a cass tube, gimp. I had a typo and could not correct with PSP2023, but I changed the text to character shapes and managed to make it look ok. I also made the title letters character shapes in twist them.

  8. STORY TIME - LESSON 6 - FEAR. My fear of the water has a bit of story behind it. I dug up this really old photo of me and a friend from 1946 when our families went to the beach at Far Rockaway. We were from Rutherford, NJ, but our friends were from Flushing, Queens, so Far Rockaway beach it was! I'm on the right, age 5 and Linda was 4. The title font at the bottom is Horror Story and I decided to add a little stroke in black. I was surprised the font added scatters instead of strokes on the letters. The journaling text is Bell MT and I used the new By the Sea font to add the line of seabirds under the photo. Cass photo corners. I had a hard time trying to scan this old black & white photo and ended up using my iPhone and taking a picture of it. That worked out much better! I used a kit from Marisa Lerin called Under the Sea-mini with the lesson six template. I think I will post the text separately for readability in the comments.

  9. I've been a bit distracted. Yesterday Annie of AnnieCDigital designs asked her FB group to help by creating layouts using a new, unpublished Alpha kit. I requested C and P. Here is one of the C layouts. Font for "Cats" is best paws font. Heart paper by MarisaL, Pets kit. Paw prints on the C by Janet Kempt, toolbox calendar, metal paw print doodle.

  10. Day 5 I skipped making a project for some of the the days and did this one . The alpha is cass-Licorice1-Alphabet ex.(with the color changed on some letters) The spinach is from Google then cropped. The spoon is from C F. ps I still don't care for cooked spinach, but I no longer put sugar on it.

  11. Day 6 - Used leading to fit all the words. Also, wanted to make a comment: If a word splits at punctuation, instead of adding spaces, I just put the cursor after the previous word, delete the following space, and press Enter (for a new line). Please let me know, if you need me to post the words. I think they're readable, though...

  12. Day 5 Fonts are Adorable Mother and Adinda Sayang. I used Jessica Dunn's Wildwood Thicket bundle for everything except the boots that I found on Vecteezy http://<a href="https://www.vecteezy.com/free-png/hiking-shoes">Hiking Shoes PNGs by Vecteezy</a> the Alpha is by Marisa Lerin and just says it's called Alpha 59 cork. I filled in the middle with a leather texture. Again, used 2022 for the wrapped text for a more smooth workflow. This is one of my favorite templates so far.

  13. Day 6, but I used the template-day-5b because that fitted better with what I had in mind. I wanted to use fear for lightning as my topic for day 6 and I have a couple of overlays with a flash of lightning and this one fitted best. It is a simple page with papers from Jessica Dunn with some noise from me. The yellow flash is by Janet Kemp and where I got the lightbulb, no idea. The title font is Off War Stamp, text is ariel.

  14. Here is one more for this challenge. I used one of Carole's edge brushes, as it resembled the bird's slightly fanned tail feathers. For the background I used the photo as an overlay. I created a barcode in order to date when the photo was taken. The Least flycahtcher is such a beautiful little bird, not much bigger than the Wren. I have several pairs here, they are very secretive birds, keeping low in wait on branches, catching insects on the wing.

  15. P layout: Does it surprise you...pickleball? I would like to do another for Poppy and Penny. The smaller words on the P were created by Carole's script, Shadow Text.

  17. Day 6 The first time I heard the word "homophone" in English class, something clicked. Gerry vs. Gary. Guerilla vs. gorilla. They sound the same but mean very different things. It was a new word that I knew would be important. (See how I did that?)

  18. STORY TIME-LESSON 4 - SPORT. The background is a photo of the Hackensack Meadowlands where Jack and I hunted. The Alpha is from Sheila Reid. The text is Bell MT. Checking to see if it will be readable in this size.

  19. Day 5 Nothing is like a watermelon picked fresh from the field with the dirt still on the bottom. Every time I buy it pre-cut at the grocery store it confirms that statement.

  21. My brother loves this stuff. I eat it fresh as salad, but seeing it all soggy and wilty in a can makes me a bit gaggy. I gave my brother a can of spinach for his 50th birthday (among other stuff).

  22. You just needed a dog under the table. They usually like liver... j/s

  23. LOL. I'm not sure even sugar would remedy the awful taste of spinach. Another food that absolutely gives me a gag reflex is Liver. I'm a protein loving guy but have NEVER been able to stomach the taste (or smell) of liver. Maybe some sugar on that LOL? Food like that went in pieces under the lip of the plate piece by piece when nobody was looking. Then scrape it all into a napkin also when nobody else was looking and kept in my lap until could excuse myself and deliver plate to sink and napkin to the circular file. Of course with 4 siblings, I got tattled on and busted a couple of times.

  25. So glad you got to enjoy one of these safaris. We did one last year and didn't roll up our windows! The rhinos were not allowed out to roam free. I also had a lorakeet experience at a different park. Very colorful little birds!

  27. The new versions usually come out in August but it has been said on the new PSP forum that there is no version 2024 coming out. They aren't sure about something in 2025 either.

  28. When I was young I was afraid to swim in either the ocean, lake or pool. My mother told me she blamed my dad who literally threw me in the ocean when I was about 2 years old, claiming that was how to teach a child to swim. This photo shows me with a friend when I was five, enjoying the mild surf at Far Rockaway, on the Long Island, NY, shore. When I was about seven, my mother sent me to the nearby Passaic, NJ, YWCA and I took swimming classes. I got to really enjoy swimming, advancing to diving and water ballet before I was done with my lessons.

  29. Since I recently got another pic of my friend's great-grandson, I wanted to play with more lifted corners. The baby's folks (young couple) set out from near Windsor, Ontario, to drive with a four-month old to Florida! The baby looks happy; wonder what the parents look like? That's a long drive.....!

  30. Yes, please. Cheese would be better than sugar. But I like my cooked spinach with grated nutmeg and a bit of oil.

  31. When I was a kid we always had cooked liver once a week, which I didn't liked but my parents always told me I had to be grateful for the food they put in front of me because in WWII they had to eat tulipbulbs to stay alive. The only foodbattle I won was about rice. After being wedded to my husband I never cooked it myself, luckily he doesn't like it as well.

  32. When I moved out with my husband I thought a good wife made liver and onions once a week. So I did. My hubby thanked me for dinner then quietly asked me to never make it again. I was so glad, because I agree totally with you. I love meat (beef especially) but organ meat is just wrong!

  37. We always have turkey and ham. After a couple of years of cooking a full turkey or turkey breast, I realized that no one really liked turkey. The next holiday, I took the easy route and picked up thick-sliced turkey from the deli counter.

  38. Finding an alligator in the pool wasn't unusual in Florida. They can climb chainlink fences. I've been back in Alabama for eight years, and they are cropping up here. Maine is a bit cold for them, but I recommend checking before jumping in.

  39. Like yesterday, I have a jammed packed day today ... so did today's early. I can't begin to even tell you how great a place the Lion Country Safari was. The animals get to roam free (except for the lions of course.) There's a reason they call him the KING. LOL They had rhino's, giraffes, monkeys (on an island) and so so so much more. If you didn't feel like you took it all in - you can just turn in again and drive through a second time. Beware though, it takes a couple of hours to drive through the first time! After you are done there is another entire park to enter, walk through, and maybe get something to eat. That's where you will find the birds, amusements and more. Being a birder that was a must see for me. I have to tell you the Lorikeets are so much fun, I didn't ever want to leave. You can pay a nominal fee and get some food for them ... and once they see that food cup in your hand - they are all over you. Such Fun!

  40. Donna good idea to change to character shapes and your green looks indeed like grass, at least on the resized version.

  41. A tip for anyone thinking of doing a lifted corner on a corner where that corner is lifted above the frame. Don't use the selection tool, promote to a new layer technique. Use the duplicate and eraser tool technique. The other technique doens't work so well, and is tricky to do.

  47. My cousin and I took a daytrip, something we do once a year and this time we went to Amsterdam. We wanted to see a multimedia spectacle about the old, world famous Dutch painters. The event takes place in an old, abandoned gasworks and is called Fabrique des Lumiรจres. The makers used over 325 artworks from 50 different Dutch painters from the 17th century onwards. There were big laser projections on the walls, roof and floor of the building with an explosion of colors accompanied by music fitted for the topics presented like cityscapes, warscenes, romance, still lifes, flowers and it ended with Mondriaan in New York with the Boogie Woogie. It felt as if we were walking through the paintings. A great experience!

  48. I started this layout last saturday but with the story workshop and a very busy week I just finished this one. I wanted to make the lifted corner by hand, but I'm not entirely happy with it. Next time I'll probably go with the script that I have. However I used the cass-SlippedInCorner2 which I won last week! I tried all the different options but settled here for this one. Script is nice and easy to use, love it! For the background I made an overlay with raindrops. Somewhere on the net I saw an umbrella adorned with flowers and made this brolly myself, just as the watersplash. The cluster is by Jessica Dunn and the rain or shine text comes from my stash. The title font is Star Bright.
