Some of you ladies immediatley came to mind. Jack is an old dear Saskatchewan friend, and it's his father who was hospitalized in Holland during WW1 in 1916 for 10 days. On behalf of Jack who would be greatly appreciative. Possibly , it says what he was being treated for. Sue sorry I just see your question now, but of course I can translate this for your friend. You will probably have guessed this is an invoice for 26 days of nursing costs in a hospital in Rotterdam called "Ziekenhuis aan den Coolsingel", which translate to Hospital at the Coolsingel and the Coolsingel was a street with a canal in the center of Rotterdam. It goes on with received from mister L.P. Nielsen the amount of 52 gulden (guilders) and 5 cents for 26 days of nursing costs etc in the 3rd class ward a f 2,-- a day in hospital from October 19 till November 13 1916. Nursing costs.............f 52,-- For the treasurer On the seal is the signature of the administrator and the date 13-11-1916 Charges.............seal f 0,05 the administrator ___________________________ f 52,05 However there is no mention what the treatment or illness may have been. That might mean 2 things: if he was employed somewhere (soldier, government) his employer paid the medical part of the bill or he had some kind of insurance for medical care and had only to pay for the nursing costs. But of course this is an educated guess. Hopefully this helps your friend. If there are more questions I'm most happy to help. 3 1

Bonnie congrats and well done, not only the pickleball championship but all the layouts I just admired! I have only one complaint: I want some of that delicious looking ice cream 🍦 4 1

When I read out your translation of the invoice to him, he was absolutely over the moon. The translation means a great deal to him. I copied and pasted it to a word document, to print off for him. On behalf of both of us, thank you ever so much for taking the time to translate it. There is another document which accompanies this invoice, which I will post, when I get it, for your to translate, if you would be so kind. Again, thank you ever so much. 4
Mary Solaas Posted November 6 Posted November 6 I'll post the rest of my calendar in this forum. October - both sets. The Halloween picture is from CF of course - a watercolor. The photo was taken by me in 2020 at an RV camp in Alabama. 3 7

Julie Magerka Posted November 7 Posted November 7 This is a scraplift. When I saw the layout, it just spoke to me and expressed some of the losses I've felt over the last couple of years. I can't recall where I saw the layout, so I cannot give proper credit. It felt good to do it. 3 2 4

I hope you don't mind if I use this on my part as a scraplift too, not immediately but I can see use for it some day. 3 1

Sue Thomas Posted November 7 Posted November 7 (edited) Corrie, here is the other document which accompanies the invoice you so kindly translated. Again, Jack would be most appreciative if you were to translate the front and the back. The initials L P stand for Lars Peter. Many thanks Sue Edited November 8 by Sue Thomas 3
Mary Solaas Posted November 8 Posted November 8 I did get that bundle and have been playing with it. Since I had used CF Spark to create pictures (AI), I wanted to try out the Vision FX. It works best in PSP 2023. In CF Spark, you can create a picture from scratch. I don't see how to do it in Vision FX. It works on a picture you provide - changing it up according to your description. I tried it out on a picture I took up at Caboose Lake in 2022 and used a copy (very important to use a copy of the picture you want worked on). This is the result (I used the description for changes that were there when I opened it up within PSP 2023. 4 3

Oh Corrie, I didn't want anyone to feel sad b/c of it. I felt uplifted once I did it. You are welcome to use any part of the scraplift to do another scraplift! 3 1

I should say, I didnt use the "thumbs up" because of the sad and lonely vibes, but for you using it some day on a layout. 4

But this is super awesome! Hope I can figure it out like you did. 2

The pic was taken at the marina park not far from me where I sometimes walk with the doggies, if it's not too busy. Oops, I see a glitch in the frame. Not fixing it since it's going nowhere but here. Julie, this happens to me a lot; I post something here and see the mistakes I haven't seen while working for hours/days with the layout. 🙂 I just love fall colors, and the photo is beautiful. It's a perfect place to sit on a bench, relax, and enjoy the view. 4 2

It felt good to do it. Beautifully done, Julie. 💟 I get the weekly newsletter of a Lilypad designer. After the kids left home, she started creating layouts with her photos, sometimes documenting the good and also the not-so-good times. She went through a harsh period for some time (she didn't elaborate on the reason), and this was a way to express the feelings she had back then. Edited November 8 by Cristina 3
